  5. Deerthug, Her Dad hunts with me and always asked about our weekends away. For the last few years she has been shooting up at my place, riding the quads and just enjoying the outdoors. She told us this was the year she gets her gun and license, she did it! I would say the last two years she really showed an interest.
  6. Welcome! Had a place in a mountain in Delaware county off rt 17. Loved it there. My niece just bought her 1st gun and is taking the hunting classes for her license. Good luck, love to help out any way I can.
  7. all depends on wind direction............Primos Silver xp to spray down my clothes seems to work great.

  10. Just bought her first gun. Mossberg 500 deer combo with scope. Got it on sale at Dicks for $299.00 She is also off to the Campsite in Huntington to take her hunting class tonight. I'm proud of her and will be a welcomed addition up at camp opening weekend!
  11. I register and have insurance through Progressive. Covers theft and damage to the machine. Very inexpensive for piece of mind like Eddie said.
  12. Bought the Legacy license and came with all the bells and whistles!
  13. Thanks guys! Just got back. The cams didn't have anything great on them. The clover plot had 8 pictures some doe and a fawn still with spots. It did have two bucks a small 6 pt and a tall crotch horn. The other can had a turkey and some doe. We did get the firewood done between the downpours on Saturday. In the evening we watched a nice 6 pt and a bunch of doe in my back field. The house inspection went well so things are looking up! I can't wait to retire and spend all my time up there.................off to NYC tomorrow morning.
  14. Have today off will be leaving in an hour. Looking at some investment property in Corning, actually having it inspected, then off to the cabin. Just signed a deal for a wood stove from B and D partners in Howard. Dave gave me a great deal that couldn't be passed up. Will be installed on the 26th just in time for bow season, hope it needs to be fired up! Checking cams, cutting fire wood and cleaning up the place. I'll post any new picts on Sunday. Had a dream about bear pictures last night, we shall see! Brother picked up for 15 bucks a nice gun rack, wood with two deer legs, I'll put that up also. I have a nice flint lock to display.
  15. A couple of good night for the Dem's. Honestly I don't think Romney has a prayer.
  16. Three deer between two families. I have about 10lbs of meat, last about another month-just perfect!
  17. Had a buck challenge me. Actually he was with a doe and probably thought I was after his doe. Held the bow up and screamed at him. He probably got within 10 feet of me. Place stunk of rut so I probably interrupted their love scene. Scared the hell out of me.
  18. Wow- right behind my field is a steep bank (no creek) we have stands along the edge of the field.
