So here I am in a bit of a different position. After owning our property (175 acres) since 1990, raised our kids in the house we built here (and 3 1/2 stall garage), and letting the fields return to brush filled with deer along with the woods, we are debating selling as one parcel or breaking into several smaller hunting parcels, and the house/garage separate. Thoughts?

Has anyone here had any experience with "Tracker" ATV's? I know the story of them now (formerly Arctic Cat), but don't know anyone who has owned one.
-
Must be everyone is busy hunting, and/or as clueless as me on this subject. In any event; I found what I was looking for and shall be mobile again in a day or so. : )

Please, if any one here knows who and where is the largest selection of ATV's for sale between Utica and Rochester, NY. There were no fewer than a half dozen dealers in the Utica/Rome/Cooperstown area about 15 years ago when I bought my last (Yamaha)one. Now, I cannot locate any. Any information is appreciated. Also, If request for this information not allowed on this site for some reason, maybe just point towards what city/town to look. Thank you

How is this not sick

On page 3 of this thread, I responded to the alleged outrage over the possibility that there might not be a smooth transfer of power if Trump were to lose the 2020 election. I must have written it in invisible ink, or perhaps it flew over the heads of those I was responding too. Or, perhaps it was too touchy a subject to try and address in any credible manner how Hillary, the left wing media, government agencies, and the never Trumpers violated that very principle. Here 5 pages of posts later, this thread has deteriorated to the point that people are being called "stupid", as well as inferring and/or implying in a disgusting passive aggressive manner that members here are racist. Good natured debate and differing opinions are one thing, but some of you are hitting a troubling new low on this site. -

Did you have the same "issue" when Hillary and her followers unleashed her hounds of hell in an all out assault against the winner, Trump, and our entire country, costing millions of wasted dollars, blood , sweat, tears, fear, innocent peoples livelihoods? Where the hell was the peaceful transfer of power in 2016? I do not believe it was an oversight by Chris Wallace to ask that question to Trump but not Hillary. I think he is to seasoned at his job to screw up that bad. It was by design. Had he asked her the same question about her accepting the election results if she were to lose, this whole damned thing may have been avoided or at least made a lot more difficult to keep going. Trump is and remains a "Big Orange (as the left like to refer to him) Middle Finger" directed firmly in the faces of the elite of both parties by the previously forgotten citizens of this country, of all colors, genders, ages, race, religions, etc. And the self entitled class made up of both parties can't stand it! They feel it threatens their way of life and their egos! They need to remember they are NOT our overlords, they are our elected employees! So, perhaps we should all join hands rather than keep hitting each other, borrow an old line from Trump, and tell a bunch of them from both parties..."you're fired"! God bless the "United" (people) States of America! -
About sums it up

Leaning? The non stop hatred and propaganda being spewed by the same people on this "hunting" site is nauseating! Their attempts to convert anyone here I think is doing nothing but making others even more committed to vote for President Trump. If for no other reason I say go ahead and keep it up! -

Interesting! I guess it's finally time to really put my house and 175 acres (fantastic deer and turkey hunting) on the market, and head back to Alaska. -
The leaf looks more like butternut tree to me.

That is one BIG bear! It looks the size of one I saw recently someplace online a week ago or so from a campsite. I think that one was in Old Forge. People were walking around it taking pictures like they were hanging out with a big Lab. I thought, "oh well it's a matter of time authorities end up killing him as a nuisance", because people encourage the bears behavior.
-
That second video I believe IS 2 adult bears. The first bear my money says is a sow, and the one following a bigger bear being a boar pursuing her. It also looks like the second bear has a limp in the front shoulder. You (I) can se it as he first comes into view. Second bear looks big from what I can tell.

I see (think) her eyes peeking through the leaves between the trees, just below the posted sign. : ) -
I don't think NH has an income tax. So in that regard at least, it beats NY.

Me and Frank were really good friends years ago and did a lot of running together. Hunted rabbits together, me with my beagles and him with his bassets. I even handled a couple of his bassets in ARHA field trials for him. Life got in the way and we sort of drifted apart. I still think of him often, and would love to get together with him again. If ever was a person to ask Bassett questions, Frank would be the first one I would call. Funnier than hell and an all around good guy!

Blew it this morning! Turkey won!
New York Hillbilly replied to New York Hillbilly's topic in Turkey Hunting
Yup....it had me kicking myself pretty good. On the other hand it is sort of nice to know at my age, and with so many years hunting, I can still get pretty amped up when things get exciting. It's the same feeling I had as a kid. A brief moment of feeling young still. I'll be happy with that as my trophy this time around! : ) -
Congrats on the kill! Nice bird!

That's what I was thinking too. I have one of those extra tight screw in chokes, and think it was like a slug going by his head. -
Blew it this morning! I have not hunted turkeys in years, but thought it might be a good diversion from the crazy clinic workload stress as a result of this Covid deal. So yesterday I went out about 10 am and just sat in the woods for about an hour. I heard a couple gobbles that sounded miles off, so I came back to the house and did yard work all day. Last night I drove down the road to a high spot that lets me look over my fields, and I saw a few hens and a Tom up there. The Tom was actually running straight up the hill like on a mission. lol This morning I over slept (getting old I guess) so about 7:30 I puttered a bit around the house, got dressed, grabbed my only 3 rusty shells, and slowly drove up the hill on my wheeler. I sat in a big creek bottom by some pine tress between fields. I called for a while and heard nothing, no gobbles even far off. Then when I was ready to pull the plug and head back because of the bugs, I called a series of yelps. GOBBLE GOBBLE...real close! I slid over to the other side of a tree to be where I thought he was coming from and I just waited. Nothing! Then by chance I turned my head to the side and caught him there behind me! About 50 yards and closing in, strutting then pecking the ground. His head was snowball white and long beard swinging! My heart was racing as I was trying to figure out how to get turned around without getting caught with him being so close. He had not a clue I was there and kept walking closer, stopping briefly to strut but never turning his back to me. He was walking down the hill to the creek and if he made it here, he would disappear from my sight, and the next I would see of him he would be within 10 yards of me. I had no idea where he would pop up again! I waited until his head went behind a tree and I then rolled up on my right hip and got the shotgun up pointed in his direction. He caught on something was up and ran a few feet the other way and stood there. I put the bead on the base of his neck and let the shot fly. At about 25 yards, downhill shot, it was a clean miss. Not a feather touched! Following the shot he took a few running strides and flew down the hill. I felt sick that I played it wrong when it came to closing the deal. No excuses here. I should have been able to get it done and didn't. I let my excitement get the best of me. I am happy though I called him in as close as I did, and that if not killed at least not wounded.

Ok, for starters. Here is the link I read the other day and try to check once a day. https://13wham.com/news/local/latest-covid-19-numbers-in-rochester-area Next, when I am wrong I admit it, so let me say for the record I read the article (thankfully) wrong, and the numbers were of children who tested positive, not died. Thank God for that! I'll consider being wrong in this case a blessing. Finally: no crickets here smart ass! I'm just up to my eyes currently taking care of people, patients, in varying degrees of mental health crisis all day long, not sitting on the side lines in the safety of my home minimizing this nightmare. Many of my patients are seniors that have only recently been passed off to me on piles of medications , extremely medically compromised, frail, and at the greatest risk of contracting and dying from this virus if they catch it. Therefore, they are confined to their place of residence. I can't begin to explain here the level of clinical complexity, the challenges, or the clinical skill and experience required to safely and effectively care for such a population of people when you cannot even lay your eyes on them. Nor can I sufficiently describe the mental stress of operating this way. I even have a list of my most medically/psychiatrically complicated seniors (and a few nervous young people) who are struggling even more just from being in lockdown and socially isolated that I call weekly, just to say hello to them so they know somebody is thinking of them. These calls while noted in the record by me are not billable, not factored into my productivity as a provider, not required or mandated, and in fact unless someone actually read the charts would not even known to be occurring. It is just something I feel important them under these circumstances so it is important to me. No crickets! -

You may want to check you numbers again. Here in Monroe county they are reporting a total of 91 deaths so far in Monroe county, and of them 4 children under age 10 years, and 19 more between the ages of 10-19 years. How is it possible then, "only 3 people under age 14" died from it in the entire country? Oh...and yes..AT, I'm sorry for your family's loss!
