  1. What Doewhacker said but use a threaded rod or rebar a dig bar works but gently so you don't break anything. As you're probably gonna need it pumped they will find it. Make sure they snake out the over flow line or lines to the leech field or it will work fine till the tank is full and backup again cause the water can't leech back into the soil. I think the county health dept would have the info.
  2. Sure, who is the outfitter and where are they.
  3. I saw an ad for one called Big Mike and I think they came out with an even taller version. Not sure if it will be tall enough but good luck.
  4. Update, I think I am going with the new small Glock 43 in 9mm.
  5. Zem, thanks for the advice. I am currently using my chief special which is a nice gun but I just wanted one a little slimmer and lighter with a few more rounds to boot. I will post if I pull the trigger on a new one. Pun intended.
  6. Thanks to all of you for your input. I was glad to hear of the good experiences but I guess I'll avoid the Taurus. I should know better as I was stung by a bad new KelTec back in the day too, as well as a bad used Charter bulldog.
  7. Thanks for the feedback the $200 difference between the 709 and a small Glock will not help if the Taurus fails.
  8. Does anyone have any first hand knowledge about this pistol? It has sparked my interest but have trouble trusting it, I guess because it's foreign. I do trust my Glock but I believe they are in a separate class and mine is a full size not compact. Any info appreciated.
  9. Some great prices right there. Already bought mine for a lot more or I'd be taking the stainless.
  10. I never have done waterfowl hunting, but I have done some small game in the past. Recently I mostly concentrate on big game.
  11. First I was thinking of his daughter Ivanka who came up with the family assistance plan, but I would vote for any of them before a Dem. Second what difference does residency matter, don't you remember Hillary carpet bagging here to run for senate. BTW I wrote this yesterday but didn't get a chance to post cause of other distractions then woke up and saw Hillary is thinking of running for mayor of NYC. She lives in Westchester where she owns two multi million dollar mansions but I'm sure the liberal sheeple would elect her. Maybe she can get a subsidized apt like Wrangel got caught using for an office.
  12. I think the shotgun season is for county residents only and by lottery unless you have private land to hunt. The bow hunting is good and runs till the end of January I believe, just beware of ticks and take all measures you can. Good luck.
  13. 7mm-08 won't hurt and can handle larger game. Good luck.
  14. I don't know of any web sites but I have hunted there a few times. First go to their state agency Inland Fish and wildlife and read as much as you can for a start. I learned most of southern Me doesn't have public land it's all private. Second I get The Northwoods Sporting Journal which has articles about each section but has a ton of ads for outfitters, lodges , motels and cabin rentals. I would also tell you to go on VRBO vacation rentals by owner. I found a reasonable cabin for a week long bear hunt with a hundred acres of private land to hunt. In hind site an outfitter would have been better and more money but my buddy and I each saw a bear so it was a good deal. If you go to the Great North Woods there are less places to stay and beside the daily entrance fee you will buy a lot of gas but I did get my bull there so it was worth every cent. Where ever you go talk to the locals especially people in the state check stations where every deer and moose has to be brought to. Sometimes it's a sporting goods store but sometimes it's a deli or gas station. Now they won't give you their best spot but they will tell you where public hunting land is. You can always call the IF&W with questions they are nice people and helpful. Good luck.
  15. Sorry for the bad news but it is at least a decent package, hopefully she will land in a better position. As NY Hunter said try not to let it ruin your holiday. Good luck.
