I would like to add we must question the government's excuses for their actions because you can easily see the lies they peddle.Like why was the student loan program pirated to the government in Obamacare? Why are the 90% of people who had insurance treated like convicts being ordered to prove we have the right kind of insurance to satisfy big brother then forced to pay double. That/s right, you see it/s not just your rates that went up about 50% but your deductibles went through the roof as did your co-pay. So when I say your rates all in doubled I am probably underestimating by a lot. Think about it, if only 10% were uninsured we could have solved this with a 1% increase and nobody would have complained. So you see it never was about the uninsured.

Thanks for your comments. I fell in love with this round when I had to borrow my friends to take my moose in fall 2013. I guess I'll have to experiment to see which round my gun likes.

Just to close this post, I chose a Ruger ss.

I was going from memory and like you said it will vary from one rifle to the next. Main consideration is weight and action as an auto is supposed to soak up some recoil. I looked up a chart and the difference between with 180 gr bullets was 2. 18 point something vs 20 point something but the 30-06 rifle was a half pound heavier 8 vs 7.5 for 308. I believe the shell for the 308 is shorter because when they developed this round there was more powerful gunpowder than when the 30-06 was. The weight of the round will also affect recoil.

I don't think the 308 is much better in recoil than the 30-06. You might try the reduced recoil ammo from Hornady.

Thinking of getting a 7mm-08 in one or the other but open to suggestions. Leaning towards the Ruger because it has a detachable mag while the Marlin does not and doesn't have a hinged floorplate either. Thanks for any help.

IMHO the president and his AG seized on the ferguson tragedy to rally his base for the midterms and the Staten Island tragedy was also jumped on despite the fact that neither were racial based, especially the Staten Island case. But as we have learned the truth means nothing to the president and his minions. I believe they chose this path because they knew the public was waking up to their lies and empty promises. This was reflected in the midterm results including losing support of minorities. In the Eric Gartner case in SI there were four or five cops arresting that man and one black female sergeant supervising. Why was only one cop brought before the grand jury. I think they all should have been investigated especially the sergeant who was in charge and present. You can bet if it was a white male he would have been thrown under the bus. I am pro cop but when they make a mistake they need to be held accountable. So now we have two dead cops after Al Sharpton held demonstrations chanting What do we want? Dead cops. When do we want it? Now. I know he is a frequent and honored visitor at the White House with direct contact with the president, likewise Mayor big bird. So now the question is How can anyone vote Democrat when this is the result of their scheming in a failed attempt to keep power after failing their base?

I just did this in Chenango county in the spring. The county clerk office in Norwich is where you have your records sent to from you current county. They will notify you to come in and issue their permit based on your old one and you have the remainder of your old permit to apply. You need to take a basic course from a list of approved instructors. The sheriff dept offers this also. You can take an advanced course after this to get full Cary. The people I have dealt with were beyond nice and friendly. The only advice I can give you is to call first they only deal with things on an appointment basis in office but can give you the exact address to give your current police dept. Thanks for the replies. It is sixteen axle to axle but almost seventeen end to end which is where it counts. After sighting in the string stretches and it is seventeen inches. I bought one and will be out Nov 1. Shoulder problem forced me to sell my Mission but at least I can still get out with the crossbow.

Is the recruit compound crossbow legal in NY? I looked at one in Dicks but the guy said the limbs were not legal, supposed to be seventeen inches and he said it was sixteen. So I didn't buy it . Anyone know for sure? The recurve recruit is legal but a lot slower.

Most places will let you leave a trailer for camping without utilities. You probably will need an outhouse or compost toilet in a shed. Taking the trailer to dump will get old.

I traded a 7600 years ago and still regret it. I think the pump will give you faster follow up shots than the blr. Don't get me wrong I use a lever as my reg rifle since I no longer have the pump and it is great but would take the pump if I still had it. Now to add to the confusion the Brownings are great guns also and probably more valuable than the Remington. Good luck, I don't think there is a bad choice here.
