  1. Seeking advice on how to treat unfinished olive wood knife scales on new knife. It is a hand made Puma IP Paloma . The wood is held in place with brass pins which I do not want to remove and there is a small medallion inset which I also don't want to disturb. I was thinking poly or some type of wax. I welcome all advice. Thanks
  2. I don't understand how people who work vote for a party that promises to raise their taxes but I think Trump proved if enough real people show up we can defeat them. We need to get out the vote.
  3. I have seen people say that deer can see blue so don't wear jeans. I'm not an expert so I stopped wearing them while hunting.
  4. Update. I will not need my 7R and don't need a swap if you can use it I'll mail it asap.
  5. Is that an area where you can take him? My brother has a place in Eagle Lake Pa where the deer and bear are not shy because it's basically a sanctuary with no hunting allowed. If you can good luck.
  6. Great score. I have seen one twice but never got a shot. Once in South Carolina I had one growl at me right in front of the box blind I was in but when I tried to shoot it ran off. Again good work. Congrats.
  7. Have you tried placing an ad in pennysaver? Just a thought. I also recommend looking for hunting clubs with land or leases in the area. This has worked better for me than you could imagine however I'm not in the area. Good luck.
  8. I have used Therma Care heat pads for my back years ago and realized they kept me warm all day and have used them just to keep warm even if I didn't need them for my back pain.
  9. I was told no bank will finance a deal without all rights so if you build on it you can only sell for cash. I walked away from a sweet deal because of this and you should too. Good luck.
  10. Hock3y24 when is the special season you mentioned if I don't get a trade I'll probably just give it to someone. BTW I think you can only take two tags
  11. After ten years of applying I finally got a bull permit for zone two. My friend who lives there and has taken many moose guided me. I rented a house near the entrance gate to The North Woods and we were set. We did see a few moose and I took a small bull with his 7-08 after scope problems with my rifle. Looking back I probably should have went to Canada for a guaranteed tag years ago even if I had to charge it and pay it off. I say this because I was lucky but time is more valuable than money. If anyone is applying to Maine PM me for advice I'd be glad to help. Good luck to all in lottery draws everywhere. PS I posted this hunt in Out of Town thread when I returned it's probably there so I won't repeat it here.
  12. I keep seeing the 2016 one but haven't seen the current one. TY in advance
  13. Congrats on a great rifle. Good luck with it.
  14. Good luck on your permit.
  15. You might be onto something there. I knew one guy who had one and he loved it.
  16. Hi, my name is Hunter and I am a Gunaholic. Or gun hoarder. While I own a good number of guns I can always see the benefit of having another. My pistol collection was getting too big so I decided to sell a few. When looking through my stuff I found three boxes of ammo for one of the intended sale guns. Naturally I thought I might as well go to the range and shoot it and it's little brother too. So I take my CZ 70 in 7.65 or .32 cal to the range and fall back in love. This is basically a clone of the Walther ppk I believe and I'm keeping it. Next up is my .25 Beretta and even though it's a tiny gun it works perfectly and you can carry it when you wouldn't take anything else. Whose crazy idea was it to sell these? Obviously the problem is I need a bigger safe.
  17. Update, I found that Hornady critical defense with the plastic tip works great in the Glock. I would have liked it to work with all ammo but I will keep it for now. I would not carry it and probably wait till I want another gun to see what I can get on a trade. Offers considered.
  18. I can stop and check it when convenient. I think we have to go to local ffl and with my non city address I think we would be good. I'll PM you.
  19. How much for the shotgun and I think he threw out the banana clip after the safe act.
  20. Right but I ended up with the 42 in 380 and trust me I regret it.
  21. Well, I ended up with the 42 Glock in 380 after a bit of hassle with the NY dealer on gunbroker but that will be a different post. Sadly I had several problems trying to get through one box of ammo. Failure to feed extract and one double feed. When I got home I looked on net, which I wish I had done before buying, only to find numerous problems with this pistol. They all were related to the early models and were fixed by Glock. According to info on line my gun is a later version with the updated parts so I will try different ammo and then contact Glock if I have any problems. Glad I still have my S%W 36 and will probably getting rid of this as soon as I get it fixed.
