  1. Look on gunbroker.com. I found mine new in box old stock from a shop in midwest a few years ago for $250. Even with shipping and ffl fee couldn't do any better. Good luck.
  2. Good luck to her with it. You chamber a round by the tip up barrel and it's a .25 cal.
  3. Praying for the victims and their families.
  4. Thanks for the tips guys.
  5. Just picked up a CVA optima and will be trying ML for the first time yhis year. Any advice will be appreciated. My brother is experienced and will help me out but doesn't have the same gun so any suggestions on loads and powder or pellets welcome. Can't wait to get out in the woods with it. Good luck to all going out for ML
  6. I think the bleach and water is after you boil off the hair and skin, at least that's what I do.
  7. From what I see on TV there still are moonshiners. I had some from Tenn. once and I could have run my truck on it. As far as "vegie" gardens go my camp was a grow house with the large BR insulated with 2" styrofoam including the windows and a vent fan blowing under the cabin. The small BR had incubators. I'm afraid to light a pipe of apple tobacco for fear that a swat team might come rappeling down the hill.lol
  8. Hey guys, I've been going to Maine for over 10 years. Deer are scarce, most of the locals track. I usually go to the Rangeley area and there is plenty of open land. Most is owned by timber and paper companies but open to all. You can go to a lodge but I wouldn't overpay cause odds are low. Beautiful state I've seen moose close up and alot of black bear. You can rent a house from VRBO reasonable and ride the logging roads hoping to cut a track in snow hopefully or mud. Good luck.
  9. A few years ago my back was sore and I wore a Thermo Care Back unit and it kept me warm all day. This has become a regular stratergy for cold weather. I always carry a backup but never needed it.
  10. Congrats GMan. Awesome bear.
  11. Dom, I just saw code blue bear attactant in Tom's in Ellenville yesterday. It was a big bottle so you would have to put 1.5 ounces in a small bottle to take in the field as I think that is the limit in NY. Good luck. I know there are other brands besides anise oil. Good luck.
  12. I have an 870 and love it but if I was buying a slug gun today I would def look at the Savage bolt action in 12 or 20. More accurate than ones with removable barrels. Good luck.
  13. I know it sucks especially since you called to confirm this year. Maybe you could trade for one you can use. Don't let it ruin your season. Good luck.
  14. Elmo, for a novice you are finding deer and getting within 20 yards, you are doing good. Second, you knew not to take a frontal shot, good call. Remember the spot that was too open for bow cause you might get a shot during gun. You might try going in for an evening hunt at the first spot and mark the backtrail so you can find your way out and hopefully not help someone else find his way in. It is state land. Glad you survived the treestand collapse. You are lucky not to have major injuries.
  15. Elmo, sorry to hear about the fall but thank God you're OK.
  16. Good luck guys and gals, be safe.
  17. I'm no expert but that price seems high, shop around especially the manufactureres in Pa.. I was looking into a 3BR ranch with two baths and place it on a full base with garage underneath. If the property can accomodate it you can get a den with walkout sliders under it also put your mechanicals in there. To me that should be around sixty plus well, septic and electric. Good luck.
  18. Doewhacker, it will be hard not to see moose in Maine. Good luck.

    KOA

I have only stayed at KOAs in NY but they are usually the standard other campgrounds strive for. First get a KOA card from a local one so you can get a 10% discount on your first stay but get it the year you are travelling. They are kind of pricey because they are geared more for RVs with hookups at most sites and not much of a discount if you are tenting it. You might want to look into their Kamping Kabins basicaly a small cabin with beds. You bring sheets or sleeping bag. A little more money but more security than a tent. I don't think it's a problem to bring along a rifle or shotgun for saftey. Be careful at rest areas too.
  20. Well, you can't do more than that.lol
  21. Well, we all heard Obama tell the Russian Pres that he could be more flexible in his second term. Russia is helping Iran get the nukes they want and Russia wants us to remove missle defenses from eastern Europe. First off, why would our representative, Obama tell our adversry and in my opinion our enemy that he can give more . Isn't his job to get more? Like stop helping crazy countries get nukes? Second, it's like going up to a cop and saying I have no plan to shoot you but could you take off that damn bullet proof vest? And the cop says after my lunch I can.
  22. Early, you are using the dem talking points to support the worst pres in history, but how dare you belittle my religion and Romney's. You are calling everyone who has had enough of Obama a racist but you are a bigot yourself. I'd like to sing you a song F--- You Thunder..... I hope you know the ending.
