  1. I think scopes get mounted by a side plate base on Winchester 94s which holds the scope a little off center but basicaly in the traditional location. This is one of the advantages of the Marlin which side ejects and allows top mounting of scopes if one wants a scope.
  2. OK, but even without the camera, do you see any tracks? You probably did lure in a bear. I would freshen the scent maybe with a new aerosol like cake or whatever when you can hunt over it. Good luck.
  3. Glad it was mostly successful. Good luck hunting. If that room is stubborn you will need to raise pressure to purge. PM for phone number if you need me to help talk you through it.
  4. Yes sir. Let me know how it goes. Leave the first one closed while doing second so no air can enter that zone then open both. usually better to over purge a zone than to have to repeat.
  5. Culver, HW systems have a constant cold water feed with a press reducing valve. Usually set at 12psi but 18psi for three story buildings. The other end of the hose goes into a drain or out the door if the boiler is in the garage. The bleed valve in pic shuts off the boiler side and forces water through system and pushes air out. First light, don't forget to open half turn screw stop when done to allow circulation.
  6. I used to have to check out when done in Nov. I don't think they give pm permits but you can ask when you go or call.
  7. I haven't been out there in years but you used to have to line up early for passes because pheasant season opens and there will be alot of them. You will need a reservation on weekends that you get by calling Monday morning before that weekendThis is the process from the last time I hunted there. They didn't give specific parking spots then, you could park in any open spot but had to stay on that side of the road. Good luck
  8. The nut above the hose connection is the valve stem to open hose. Try not to strip it. Use adjustable wrench not pliers or channel locks. If hose connection leaks a little after you close it you need to get hose caps with washers to seal , but probably won't.
  9. That is the bleed valve. Turn off system and attach hose then turn screw the half turn until it stops open hose connection and lift handle on feed valve to increase pressure but watch the gauge you don't want to go over 20 psi because the relief valve will open at 30psi and dump water on floor. this is a saftey so it needs to be able to do it but you don't want to trigger it. If you can't increase pressure like I said just close the hose connection until pressure builds up and open again. don't stop the first time you hear water becaue you will need to purge a lot of water to get the air out. You will probably need to do both zones. Good luck
  10. Thanks for your service. I hope you are rewarded later in the season.
  11. Great buck and great mount. Congrats on both.
  12. I would leave the swamps alone if you are alone. Big state, why tempt fate.
  13. In my experience it is far easier to buy something with electric than to add it. I would not want to be on a seasonal road either. In fact I am currently looking hard as I just sold my last camp and after making many mistakes like seasonal water, it really was a big deal. I am only interested in all utilities present and year round access. If your ins company does check it will be hard to explain if there is no CO or plumbing. They checked on me but the cabin had a CO so they couldn't mess with me but they did check. Trust me after you spend thousands maybe all your disposable cash you don't want to find any surprises. PM me if you want more horror stories lol Good luck. Not trying to scare you but I wish someone had put me wise before I forked over my money. I would have been more choosy.
  14. I hate to state the obvious but are you doing everything you can to manage your scent? Besides washing clothes and self in hunter soap do you keep both scent free before hunting like not stopping for gas. Even the wrong cover scent can spook them. I like the earth scent personally as it seems not to alarm them. With all that said if you are seeing them you are almost there hang in there and I'm sure you will score, good luck.
  15. A great choice, good luck with it.
  16. OK that's me to the right with my sub permitee Clyde to the left and Mike my son-in-law and friend next to him. Fred my friend and last member of the crew behind the camera. We were in zone 2 and my buddy Clyde who lives downstate Maine but has hunted up there before guided me.
  17. It was Hornady flex point, not sure of weight but I'll ask. Three shots and we think one miss. Wow that NB season is short. The meat looks primo and the big old bull would have been tough but I still would have been happy with the bigger rack. Once I can get my daughter to help I'll put up some pics. Hopefully today.
