Pro-Gun, Anti-NRA

And thats why firearms are #1 for self defense. For potential victims, what difference does it make how they are murdered, assaulted or attacked?? Your concentrating on the criminal and totally ignoring the innocent victim. Should an elderly or physically weak person be able to use a firearm to defend themselves against a much younger/stronger attacker who is only armed with a little knife or a club or his/her own much stronger hands?? Or should it be an even playing field? Fist Vs. fists, knife Vs. knife, club Vs. club????? -

Agreed. But I will never be convinced that a sick piece of crap, who is intent on killing people, will not do so even if it was somehow impossible for that person to obtain a firearm. -
Squirrel is good eating. No doubt. Back in the day I hunted them a lot. Mostly in late season, when I got bored and wanted a reason to get out to hunt. They always came out good however I cooked them. Breaded and fried, simmered in any kind of sauce, baked with a little white wine, olive oil, rosemary and parmesan cheese (my favorite) Its all good.

My initial reaction is to be a little skeptical.

I screwed myself this year by not moving a climber about 30 yards, and by not trimming out another stand that I knew needed to be trimmed. That one cost me a shot at a buck Sunday night. So basically, for me?……. don't be a lazy a$$ !!

Just so you know…….If your LEO friends get caught running checks on people you want info on, they will have a big problem. You might not want to brag about your "perks". Your friends won't appreciate it.
-
The reason to make things " public info." IS to make it easy for everyone to find that info. You knew that right??

You need to keep an eye on the breech plug. I decided, at the last second, to check the plug, before taking my ML out for the first time this year. The pin hole was rusted closed. No way the rifle would have fired. And this was after I had given the rifle, and plug, what I thought was a good cleaning before storing it last year. It took quite a while to clear the pin hole. I never would have been able to do it in the field. Keep your hole clean LOL!!!

Around my house, bow season was good. I didn't score but my buddy took a good 8 and I saw some good bucks and a lot of does. Since Nov. 19th I have seen one deer. a doe (I think) about 150 yards out. I think they went nocturnal quick. With the snow I have seen them out in the fields, at night, and see fresh tracks all around my hunting spots. Saw them out last night so I went out tonight and hunted the edges of the field………NADA!!!! At least I know they're there. I'll give it another shot Sun. and Mon…...

Same thing happened to my buddy a while back. He hit a buck and did a fast, nervous reload with loose powder. The deer ran out in front of me and piled up. A second shot wasn't needed. On our way out we passed the spot where my friend reloaded and it looked like most of his powder was spilled all over the snow. He even had powder all over the front of his wool coat. We still bust his chops over it LOL!!

My ML shoots dead on and consistent with 2 fifty grain pyrodex pellets. I like the convenience of just dropping in 2 pellets as opposed to pouring out powder. Find what ever works best with your rifle/reloading set up. .

Wonder how long before we see these used?

Not sure how effective one might be for use at driving deer in wooded areas but I think they would make very effective/ desirable targets….LOL! Kind of like blasting a big wad of $100 bills out of the sky. …Not that people would do that……. -
Still waiting for the end of ML season to call it quits………but try adding a little spring turkey and April/May trout to those tags. It helps a lot…….LOL!!!

A friend of mine shot a deer a few years back with a power belt. 40 yards or so and the deer only went 30- 40 yds but the bullet blew up inside and there was no exit hole. I think it was a 250 gr bullet in front of 100gns of triple 7. when we gutted it there were tiny pieces of copper shrapnel everywhere, and his insides were soup.
-
I usually shoot just a couple (2 fifty grain pellets) to make sure its still on, and then one or two loads on deer, if Im lucky,. Thats only 4 or 6 fifty grainers out of a box of 100 fifty grainers. Im good
-
Im all in!!!!!!!!
-
Been using the same box of pyrodex for 5 + years now. They work fine. I sight in every year to make sure, and they make em fly just the same... Store them in a dry place…. Your good
-
Its all good. I still have one muzzle loading left. congrats again
-
Hard to say with out shooting it. But it might not be too far off. My ML is sighted in with 300gr Hornady XTP's. But the 300gr Shock Waves fly almost the same (with in 2") with the same charge. ( 100 grains of pyrodex-pellets) Shoot em before you hunt.

Congrats…..I was in the same boat this morning. But nothing showed.

Prayers for a good friend and fellow hunter

Prays out to all -
I have had some with them …late season. I don't think it will ever spook deer so go for it..
-
I have hung them both ways and have never noticed a difference in the way it effected the meat. But I almost always hang them by the hind legs since ever since a farm dog got into the shed and went to town on the hind end of a deer that I had hanging from its horns…..I hated that dog….
