  1. I have Guide Gear boots, 2400 thinsulate, rubber & the rubber has cracked on them. But the good thing is anything by Guide Gear has a life time warranty & they replace it free forever. My son-in-law has the same boots & is on his 3rd free pair & I am on my 2nd free pair. Also if they don't have what you bought they will upgrade it to the next better product. But you do need your original receipt for proof..
  2. All this sure would be much easier if everything was all the same across the state/country! But that is their game I guess, make it difficult for us!
  3. I think I will wait until the mass killers, rapist, murderers, home invaders, & the black market guys get done doing their pistols with the ground off serial numbers before I do mine so as not to tie up the system by a honest, legal, gun owner.
  4. All I know is that Jim is a mans name & that I am in no shape for exercise!
  5. I wish I would have gotten my daughters more into hunting but their mom made them into girly girls .lol They did go turkey scouting with me at times , love to walk the woods & they love to go fishing so not all bad. My 6 yr old granddaughter is showing interest in hunting, shoots her kid bow & bb gun quite a bit with her dad. They got a new ground blind for X-Mas so she can go with him next yr. I need to do some work on my 8 yr grandson to get him into it, his dad being the problem. oh well.
  6. I love my NEF too. I have a 223 barrel, 20 ga heavy barrel rifled slug (tack driver) , & the 50 cal ML barrel. All have scopes, all good shooters.
  7. FYI, I was at Cabela's this AM. & the salesman was handling a new rifle that looked just like an AR semi auto but it was a pump action. Pretty sweet gun! It has a 10 round mag. that looked like a 30 round mag.(just longer), a pump action, this one was 223 cal. I think it was made by "Troy" not sure? It had a $700 price tag on it. I thinking they will sell quite a few of these. All NY legal. There is a u-tube review on it check it out, "Troy pump action AR-15"
  8. I got a new crock pot & toaster over from my daughters & a few other odds& ends. Then I bought myself a new CVA Wolf ML. combo, it comes with a vortex scope & a gun case which I still need to pick up at Cabelas. I am also thinking of buying myself a new X-bow for a belated X-mas gift, all of which I don't need any of but WTH !
  9. If your cam times are correct, isn't it odd that they know when it is safe to come out in the day light hours again? Dam sob's lol
  10. I would love to get back into hunting rabbits with dogs (it is the best action ever). I did it many years ago hunting with 3-5 beagles at any one time. Nice looking dogs both beagle & shorthair.
  11. Cabela's has some Vortex Crossfire 2 (& scout) scopes 3-5 & 3-7 on sale & they have some pretty good reviews. Might be just right for a 22. I have a 2x red dot on my 10/22 but thinking of replacing it.
  12. So for the guys hunting yotes with dogs, what guns are you using? I use a 223 cal when calling them in. but when the dogs are hot on their trail & the yotes are flying I use a 12ga. full choke with buck shot. Just wondering what you other guys are using?
  13. I just returned my otter box & got a thinner one with a belt/pocket clip on it so the phone won't keep falling out of my pocket every time I bend over. It works pretty nice, it also does not cover the vol. & on/off switch which makes for easy operation. & was great during hunting season. I didn't worry about loosing the phone. They call it a shell/holster combo with a kick stand.
  14. I don't shoot feathers but I was told to put a drop of glue in front each feather/fletching to stop the WB from ripping them off.
  15. Great, beautiful pictures! Looks like they prefer perch! Thanks for sharing.
  16. I have a Lansky & I used it maybe 2 x's . It does a nice job but I think it's a pain in the butt, its takes some time. I have the basic stones + the one for serrated blades. You can have it for $25 bucks + shipping. PM me if interested.
  17. Many people fish the lower Niagara river all year. They also fish the Niagara bar all year at the rivers mouth to lake Ontario.(me & friends being some of them) The boat launch in Lewiston NY is open all year also. I know many guys that would fish lake Erie until ice formed but there are no launches open on Erie the A-holes close everything up a week after labor day or by Oct.15 every year.! People also fish the larger finger lakes all year that don't freeze over.
  18. My condolences to you and your family for your loss. But he passed doing something that he loved to do. My dad passed in 1990 and I still miss him in the woods & while fishing. Take care.
  19. Best was elk ,a deer roast made correctly, rabbit, grouse, pheasant. have had a good woodchuck stew which was pretty good. A roasted raccoon but a bit greasy. Did not care for bear meat or goose breast.
