    Had a nice 6pt walking toward the stand this afternoon. Was to worried about turning my go pro on and i'm pretty sure he heard me. Stopped dead in his tracks turned around and walked off. Unreal. No more camera action for me.

    I use a blow dryer to melt the wax, and only wax my bowstring twice a year. 3 times tops if i'm shooting a ton.

    Awsome man. That's real cool. It would be nice to get this thread pinned to the top so people can always see it. Nothing worse than loosing a deer. Show some pics of the journey/success when you take your first trip.

    I get the cheap one at wal-mart. Under 20 bucks and it last me the year. I shoot rage broadheads and feild tips at it. No way am I spending 100$ on a target.

    Hello all. I have a 14ft aluminum boat and trailor that I don't use much anymore up for sale or trade. It's in good condition and doesn't leak. Trailor is fine and has brand new tires and bearings on both sides. Has 2 paddles a few life vest and anchor. Paper work for both. ( One trailor light has broken lense cap ) Looking to sell it for 500.00 firm or trade for a hunting rifle of equal value. Boat is great for fishing or duck hunting ponds. Pm if anyone has intrest and I can send pics if needed. Located near Parish Ny.

    Never. Thats when it works lol. Na I just don't use calls myself. Tv shows and youtube make them look better than they are sometimes. I have pulled over near feilds with deer in them just to see how they would act when I used different calls in different ways. May be crazy but I have found that if the buck isn't dominant or looking for a fight they will book for the most part. And people over use the rattle. Using it lightly has got to be the better way. Making the bigger bucks think there's a few little guys going at it.

    Don't rely on luck. And I personally wouldn't hunt a rub from last year. I have found one rub this year so far. You will be able to tell if there fresh. Find travel paths look for the clear sign like marks were they walked and piles of crap. Go from there. Good luck.

    Thanks. Was out camping for the weekend near Indian Lake. It was great. Did some scouting, hiking, good food on a open fire and some cold ones that night. Looking foward to the season kicking off and making some more great hunting memories. Good luck to you all as well.

    Savage rifles are great. If you get one make sure it has the accu trigger. The pull is super stiff and was very uncomfortable to shoot I thought.

    You're good to go. The deer will not move around a lot in that heat.

    I just got back from a camping trip near Indian Lake. I was at the top of Chimney Mountain and looking over everything you could see the fall colors. It was great. Not to mention the cooler temps will have the deer stired right up.

    I only used scents long enough to teach me that it wasn't worth it, imo. When rut comes around I will hunt were I saw the most doe and hope their natural smells stir things up. My hunting gear is outside on the ground right now and thats were it will be until early bow. Works well.
