  1. Since you know draw length already, I would consider a used elite - hunter, answer or others. Plenty to be had for decent prices on the elite forum or AT. I found a new prime shift on ebay (2012) for $500 fully set up. That was a $1000 bow without the accessories last year. I did have to tune it. I really like the prime draw cycle, but it has more hump than the elites.

Be happy to be alive. One of my bigger concerns when I ride in rural areas. The bike can and will be fixed. Not sure how you reacted, but since you didn't even break a bone, it was VERY well done.
  3. But we got one on camera Phade - actually it was a leopard.
  4. Honestly Joe, I don't think I would use that heavy rope. pain to move around A little paracord is all you need and I agree on the electrical tape.
  5. Thanks for the sellers guys. Will need to pick some up.
  6. I like the hay bale idea, but where does one buy bales of hay? Obviously I am not a farmer.
  7. My experience is that carpet won't help much. If you are more worried about damage to the barn than arrows, several sheets of plywood with some space between them and the barn will do it.
  8. Hard to beat savage at that price point.
  9. I know of one person who got a bad infection after cutting himself while butchering. Be careful.
  10. Phade, would just get the plot in already. Geeze.
  11. My buddy is on the board. I think the initiation fee is $62.5k as a senior member. Monthly dues are typical but plan $800ish if you are a regular club user. For a high end club, its a deal since there are 2 great courses. No net worth requirements Phade if you are interested in joining. I am sure there are plenty of deer to be hunted on the west course. lol They have close to 1000 members, but only 200 or so that regularly golf. Lots use it for entertainment and bringing clients to the course where the US open, ryder cup and PGA are played. Larry is right, you don't need to be loaded to join, but reasonably well off. Its no worse than buying a boat, etc. You do need to have some connections to get in though. Place is getting packed for the PGA. I won't go hating both crowds and watching golf, but my friends have said it is pretty busy already. Once actual play starts, it should be absurd. One guy who lives next to the course I know made $7000 in prepaid parking for the week.
  12. You should check, but I think the 1000 acre swamp in penfield/webster allows bow hunting. Thats what I was told. Not 100% on that.
  13. Highly confidential info. Phade withholds it from me and I own one of the properties. lol
  14. Who trimmed the shooting lanes in that last pick? Great job, but looks tough with all that multiflora.
  15. If you are limited to 1 inch mods, then its better to go 28 than 29. I know Phade will agree even though he is giving you a hard time. Funds are limited and sounds like you have a reasonable solution. A good tuner can give you some extra DL by adjustments to the string and cables if you really need it, although less than 1/2 inch. You may find that 28 works just fine. For sure, you will shoot that bow better than when it was at 30DL. Good luck and practice. Drop that 10yd pin too. You don't need it. PM me your address again. With this new DL, I can send you some mid-weight arrows that will work well.
  16. BUT they still left you with knowledge and a new experience - whether you remember the kill or not. Horrible to lose your memory at such a young age Phade. Dont forget the sprayer on Sunday. I will text you.
  17. I know you told me this before, but could it be that since most shots are taken in that range, more examples of jumping the string would occur there? I know you are statistical geek, but, by way of example, with regard to your heart shot on the buck at 55yds last year opening day, he probably jumped the string but luckily you shot (ie. missed) low and the stars aligned. lol Has to be or you would deserve the credit for a GREAT shot and that ain't happening.
  18. Unless you have superhuman eyesight, no one could have distinguished between my 8" spike and a doe. Quite embarrassing. But it did have long ears. quote name="phade" post="222500" timestamp="1374691002"] Depends if it's a spike or a doe. Moog toys around with superhuman draw weights just because he can, lol.

    Deer beds

Shouldn't you be risk mangaing or something?
  20. I like the Ninja sword idea - that should up the arrow weight. Anyone making 150lbs bows yet? Yes - killing him twice is just fine with me. Just don't jokingly wear your deer suit in while I am in the stand this year.
  21. Wow - this thread has taken a turn. Probably for the better, but it can be interesting to pop back and see where the thread ends.
