  1. That is awesome. Don’t think I could pass that one either.
  2. Only deer I ever saw at a distance and intentionally stalked on my hands and knees to try to shoot it. Not sure if the doe or I was more surprised when I popped up shot and the arrow hit poa. Lol. Only deer I ever killed with that short kodiak mag too. It was fun. Wind was perfect. High grass. Nearly perfect conditions. Oh and I think I blew at least three other efforts at stalking up on a deer that day. It ain’t easy. going to watch that video tonight.
  3. I would not practice with a bow that has too long of a draw length to start. It will likely reinforce bad habits and an incorrect anchor. Just a suggestion. Regardless, congrats on starting up.
  4. Thanks for sharing the great experience
  5. Be careful not to get caught on it. I could just see my pack getting me hung up. lol
  6. Zima for the win - if they still make that stuff. Honestly, one of my favorites was always a Russian stout. Its a beer and a meal.
  7. "asking for a friend" - same guy that likes pink chaps? Oldest story in the book. Nothing wrong with wanting a range finder. I would probably look for one that is ARC but mine works fine without it for hunting,
  8. I would imagine its right before seeking phase - sometime late October but property specific.
  9. I don't really drink anymore but find it funny that many popular brews now are fruity and don't even look like beer let alone taste like it. Its kind of an odd change of preferences. Almost like everyone really wanted wine coolers all along. lol Not saying it to mock the beers as I like a fruity beer at times too on the rare occasion I drink.
  10. Mine sucked this year. No time to properly care for it. So I decided to hire a company for weed and feed next year. But it is bouncing back. Just had it aerated and overseeded.
  11. Do you have to push the skirt out of the way to climb in?
  12. waiting to assess performance on a live deer! Get er done!
  13. foot them, but that won't add much weight, just durability. Do they sell heavy inserts for 4mm?
  14. I shoot some 700g arrows, including 250g heads, from a 50lb recurve. Slow as all get out, but they do pass through deer. Requires fairly precise yardage estimation though. 5yds is a big difference in POI.
  15. What about that big 10pt that ran under my stand about 3 years ago that I never shot - lol. First week and about 75 that day I think. If you have the right food, I think you still can pattern one early. I had that early season last year but never picked the right stand when the bucks showed. They were always too far away as I watched them.
  16. Makes sense. Such a vest would go well with your safety pink chaps.
  17. She is really neat. Culver planned to kill her and then passed on first opportunity too. I think seeing her all summer gave her a mascot status.
  18. This girl got a pass a few times. I even interrupted her with a buck in Nov. hope she is back. her fawn was normal. For me, the joy of seeing her outweighed any hide on the wall. She was a mean one too.
  19. Looks great. Funky buck there.
  20. Not sure I would have used deck correct as I assume it at least partially doesn't soak in. Hope you don't have peeling buddy. 2 year old deck wood is prime for a simple stain/waterproofing following cleaning. Then again if slow hand got 25 years from his pressure treated deck, listen to him. lol I just replaced the deck boards on ours after 10 years with 2 or 3 different stain jobs over than time. Even then I could have gotten away with only replacing 5-6 boards but I figure I would do it all at once and hopefully have another 10 years without issue.
  21. seriously sucks. pulling for cold weather
