God Bless, Thats why its important to talk to someone because sometimes it can be more than anyone can handle on their own. I am not in the military but I am familiar with the high suicide rate in the Police Dept. This is kinda of a cheese quote but I like it "Life is like surfing, Sometimes you're on top of the wave and other times you're getting crushed by the wave, but its always worth getting back on your board!"

Paula, Don't be scared the height has never hurt anyone. You should be afraid of the fall

Congrats awesome!

Let's see how fired up we can get people. Sorry to leave you spot and stalk hunters out but this is is for those of us who like to sit around. I myself use both but I feel like hunting from a ground blind is a lot more comfortable and you are a lot less likely to get busted but for some reason I still prefer being up in a tree. What about you?

Thats a beauty, but he's glad he let the spike pass

A few years ago I would have agreed with you as far a ground hunting being a handicap but then I hunted a little bit from a ground blind. Mind you its a pop up not natural but I sit back relaxed, reading, eating , moving freely without fear of being seen. i still do both depending on what the situation dictates but I find ground blinds a lot more pleasurable. Heck my father has taken it a step further and he uses the elevated blinds now. Best of both worlds!! hmmmm think I'll start a thread on this?

It's amazing what some of these deer can survive. I've seen deer that butchered had broadheads stuck in the spine totally encapsolated and broken shafts in the shoulders.

I got pictures off guys mooning my camera, kinda wish it was stolen instead

Hey blade killer, Nice buck!
-
Sounds like a lot of wasted meat that he just flew over the deer taking off the easy big chunks. I reccomend going somewhere else

So is there going to be a youth hunt success thread or just a bunch of grumpy old men B!t*hing?

The DEC was denying it and calling it hoax until the dead kitty showed up and there was irrefutable evidence. I don't believe that there are many if any in this state but its very possible especially in northern and western NY

If arrows weren't so damn expensive I would shoot at them all day from my tree stand -
Thanks, I was just curious. A little rich for my blood but sounds like money well spent on a opportunity of a life time!

Just curious what a trip like that cost? awesome story thanks for sharing!

Thats a big deer, hope you have a quad. A large deer last year inspired me to by a quad so I don't have to deal with that again!

I brought a doe back to my frat when I was in college and all the city boys thought it was free steaks since I didn't have to pay for it in the traditional way. Heck it never made it to the freezer! -

Required to carry when practical, some examples of when not to carry are, to and from the gym and while at the gym, swimming pool or anytime that would make it difficult to safe guard a firearm and while being unfit for duty due to intoxicants or any renue serving alcohol while not serving in a duty capacity -
Where are all the squirrels????
Guns&ReligionCop replied to Stretcher Guy's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
I don't think they have dropped any birds, I pushed the edges of the fields with a friend and then down in the swamp and out around the jeep trails. Not only did I not kick out any birds. The guys with dogs didn't kick any out and I only heard a 2 shots all morning. I didn't even see any feathers where birds had gotten whacked or snatched up by a coyote. Being the first week I there usually is more sign, So my guess is no. It was pretty overgrown on the trails as well. I don't think they mowed anything out there this year -
I don't walk with a arrow nocked but if I did friday night I would hav e had a shot at a doe, just saying

I would do the same -
Regardless of anyones opinion its not beyond possiblilty, 1 confirmed means there has been a lion here recently and there can always be more and just to rule it out like waterweasle is being nieve. They use to be indigenous to this region so its obvious that this region can support them.
