No you are not the only person scratching their head over this but in all honesty when it comes to the 2nd amendment and how to change it......... the democratic party leads the charge. also in all honesty......... most republicans are to busy pointing at a democrat and saying this is what they(democrats) are doing but have no idea as to how to change it other then by saying we have ideas but we cant do anything until the elections????????????

Defending his rights or avoiding taxes?
sidewinder replied to Elmo's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
i guess that was one of the points i was trying to make......... he went to court and the outcome was the same so he along with others took matters into their own hands. that is still breaking the law. not trying to start a wizzing contest here but what 1st amendment rights(zones) are in question? im just asking because im not sure what you are talking about. as for the bombings in boston or what happend with the so called man hunt in california has nothing to do with what is/has taken place in nevada. -
Defending his rights or avoiding taxes?
sidewinder replied to Elmo's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
so many things in the above artical are wrong. point number one is that the rancher is expected to pay(tax) a grazing fee and he chose not to. i am not a rancher nor do i claim to know about any laws in Nevada that cover ranching but............. if it is a law and everybody else complies with that law..........why/what makes this rancher any different? point number 2...... if goverment officials arrive to do what they are paid to do and people stand in the way(confront) then in my own opinion they not the officials are breaking the law. point number 3..... as stated in point number 1 this is a law(requirement for ranchers) that has been on the books for years. having armed people show up on the scene now in defense/defiance falls into the realm of mob mentality while i understand that a man is trying to do a job and earn a living the way he was/is going about it is wrong. there are many laws that i am expected to follow and many more that i do not agree with but that does not give me the right stand there with a gun in my hand and expect things will change.......... at the end of the day this type of action i am quite sure will be looked at by many different sides and all will see it a different way.......... just my humble 2cents and only my opinion. -
im not sure if this is going to come out right but i will give it my best. 1 im glad to hear that for future hunters the use of cross bows will be covered(taught) in a hunter safety course so this will help a new(younger) with the basics of what you can and cannot do(ranges, expectations ect ect ect)with a crossbow. 2 i tend to worry more about the hunter who has spent years hunting with a firearm but has never spent any time what so ever even learning the most basic rules of a bow. 3 while i applaud the state for trying to expand the what types of tools can be used for hunting i personally feel that more time should have been spent to work out some of the finer points (ok i just bought a crossbow..........now what do i do) if anything that have have posted makes no sense i apologize i guess i have more questions then others. either way i am quite sure by late fall of 2014 the discussions will be very interesting to say the least.

i agree with all of the above points. i would also add one of my own. when you take your kid out fishing for those 1st few times leave your rod at home. spend the time with your child fishing....... not you trying to fish while at the same time trying to help reel in line, set a hook, ect ect ect. i have also found that if you take a pair of pliers and smooth out the barb you will still catch fish but it cuts down on those lil fingures getting poked. best of luck to you and enjoy your day.

yes it is good to see deer out and about and yes it does make a person wonder why so many permits are issued but numbers(deer) still seem high. i can only speak for myself but last season between myself and the other three men that i hunt with we had no less then 12 permits. of those only 2 where able to be filled. the problem that we encountered was there where plenty of deer to shoot at however all where on property that is posted. in my honest opinion the state should do MORE to educate homeowners about deer populations and the purpose that hunters serve. i know this is just a pipe dream but hunters can only do so much with what they have to work with.

looking good hopefully ma nature will co/operate this year with a mild and dry spring.

Location fields in profile, why don't people use them?
sidewinder replied to bluecoupe's topic in General Chit Chat
paranoid........ dont talk to strangers........... never give out to much information.... the list goes on and on but in all honesty most people just worry about somebody else being able to (hack) into their more personal buissnes by using any information that they put out on the world wide web. jmho
