  1. I have to say that i love my 06. Light recoil in my eyes and it just feels great. Although i pretty much like shooting all types of guns.
  2. Cant go wrong with a remy 700, browning x-bolt, a-bolt, T/C venture, Sako, Ruger, Savage or Tikka. There are so many options out there. I personally have a T/C Icon but that's not made anymore.
  3. T/C Icon in 30-06. My first rifle got me my first deer in 2009.
  4. I was always under the impression that because the 20 has less powder that it threw tighter patterns because of it. Just because you put a full choke on doesn't mean you'll get the same pattern in different gauges. But I could be way off about both.
  5. Obviously a 12 has more power, pellets and range compared to a 20 but a 20ga usually has a tighter pattern and a lot less recoil.
  6. Id say bolt action 30-06 is the most popular.
  7. Ive never seen one but I do have a picture of a fawn that was no more then a month old in the middle of October. Ill have to dig around for the pic.
  8. Trespassing and shooting more deer then that person has tags for is it for me. Those are the only ones that bother me enough to call the DEC.
  9. If you do mention it to him, I would ask him to get rid of it when bow season rolls around because you may get hit with a ticket because of it. Just be friendly and bring it up casually so you don't make an enemy for a little thing.
  10. I would say that the first one looks more like a cuckoo pint plant then ginseng but its hard to tell with that picture.
  11. ill say 3 1/2 because his neck meets the chest at a relatively high point.
  12. Since that's the case, i would say to hunt that spot with the lowest impact possible until gun season rolls around and the deer get pushed into that property.
  13. Does the farmer who owns 1,000 acres have his property right next to the one you are looking to hunt? If so you may have an awesome spot once gun season rolls around as well because of the pressure that might come from the gun club.
  14. That sounds great to me! I'll be there more often once I am officially a member. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. See if you can have some one draw up a contract that waves your right to sue them for any accidents that may happen on their land.
  16. Tripod gives you a more stable rest while a bi-pod gives you easier use. You could make shooting sticks yourself if you want.
  17. Hahaha we all know this could never happen. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Hopefully we'll have a season in NY soon. Ive never hunted dove but it seems like a lot of fun.
  19. I keep my tags in my backpack. I never saw a need to poke holes in my Hunting clothing. When I shoot a deer, I usually put it right after the brow tine if its a buck and through the ear if its a doe.
  20. Got mine yesterday. I don't understand why we are getting them now when it says they were printed on the 21st of July.
  21. If you already have a shotgun, you should be able to purchase a rifled barrel with and a scope for around 350 bucks.
  22. I actually don't mind the tag color. Seems like the tags have the same texture that they had from 2 years ago as opposed to the laminated feel that they had last year. They always have to waste time on changing things that don't matter.
  23. Ive hunted 3M for many years. I saw the biggest buck of my life there! Some great deer and turkey numbers there. I'm actually thinking about hunting there again this year.
  24. Just got mine today. Funny thing is that it says it was issued 7/21.
  25. Which ever rifle that you shoot best with, thats legal for deer. 308 is among the most popular of calibers for deer hunters so your friend is wrong.
