    You'll be fine with the .243 in NY. I would suggest a bullet like Barnes TSX that stays together and has better penetration.

    Scopes for me on my rifles. Although I just got a new rifle and don't plan on putting a scope on it for quite a while.

    30 yards is pretty much my limit for hunting. I try to keep my shots under 25 yards if i can.

    I have always used ear muffs for hunting. Every single shot from a caliber bigger then 22 shot will cause damage after every shot...especially deer hunting calibers. I used to use cheap ear muffs that gardeners use which worked well but i bought a pair of Howard light and those things are amazing. I only put them on when I see a deer or hear a deer.

    I deal with the same situation every year. I personally let it go because I don't know the landowner or if the lady has the right to go on his property. The only thing I don't like is that they sometimes trespass onto the property I hunt but it they have never done it while I was there. I would say you could talk to the land owner first and then talk to them in a very polite manor. I see no reason how they could get mad at you if you approach them with respect.

    I actually have a spot that I like to gut them. But that's only because its next to a small creek that I can wash my hands, knife and deer in before i make the final drag to the landowners house.

    I don't let it hang at all, I cut it up right away. I normally don't have the privilege to let any deer hang since I live far from my hunting area though so everything gets cut up right away.

    I don't think they are allowed to be used on LI. Although I can't remember where I got that information.

    I think many fathers already allow their children to hunt at younger ages already. I would 100% support this.
