  1. I always limited mine to less than a minute, but I guess it was too short
  2. How did you rattle? What i mean is how hard and for how long did you? I've only ever rattled in one deer before so I'm not really sure if I'm doing it right. I tried to do a light rattle sequence yesterday morning, but I got nothing from what I saw.
  3. Call deer search while you wait. Better to have them there just in case. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Only saw one today at 7. Big fat doe that I almost let an arrow loose at, but I wasn't quite pleased with the shot so I passed. Found my first scrape of the season under my stand and a bunch of new rubs with in 20 yards. Things are starting to look good Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. If the head looks find ill re use it. Ive re used a couple rages before and it went well, but after 2 deer it wasn't looking too good. The killzones i shot 2 deer with look amazing. The blades are still as sharp as they were out of the box and pretty much as solid. Only thing that's loose on those heads is one screw that I believe I can tighten. NFA-ADK can testify to that when I showed him a comparison of a new head and one that was used.
  6. We have a whole lot of season still left! Id bet that its going to get better soon with all those doe around
  7. I prefer that too, and it looks like the gods also felt that I shouldn't be harvesting this fawn lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I don't know why I phrased it the way I did, but the way I meant to say it was I missed chance at my second deer for the year. Didn't miss any deer this year until this one. Dropped my arm at the shot. Rookie mistake, but we all make it time to time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Can't beat the taste of a fawn lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Just missed another fawn. I'll tell the full story when I get down Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. The jackets i wear, have the holes for them, but I never wear it. I just put it in my back pack. If you get a ticket for not wearing a back tag, he either really wanted to get you on something or was just having a bad day.
  12. I use a thick soft rope i bought from home depot to make stringers and for hanging deer. I usually pick up a stick in the woods instead of having one just for it.
  13. Got this doe opening afternoon. That morning was Ameritech hour for me. I messed up 3 shot opportunities on some big does. I was pretty excited when I saw this guy at 3:23 in my shot window about 25 yards away. The interesting thing was that the deer is actually a hermaphrodite. Now it's mainly buck hunting until rifle season or I get a buck down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Haha now that was good! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Havent seen a grouse since spring of 2009. Nice going! I hear they're delicious.
  16. He/she had everything. Look close Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I've got to agree with the man. Id save those days for November or late October if November doesn't work for you.
  18. I would think so. Missed a pie bald earlier that day too. Saw practically everything I usually see at that property other than a good buck.
  19. I forgot to check behind me when a doe busted me talking to my father. Other then that, I had everything I needed.
  20. Tried posting this earlier, but I had zero service and then my phone died. I shot this fawn around 3:10. She came in behind me and gave me only a few seconds to shoot since the wind was about to switch towards her. It didn't look as small as it is from 25 yards out, but also turns out this doe is a hermaphrodite. Makes sense why it came in alone and was so small. When I skinned her out, she had almost no fat on her. Deer on that property (including the fawns) usually have inches of fat due to all the apple orchards and farms literally right next to the property. Glad I took her out since she wouldn't have made it through the winter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
