Odd I hunt a several thousand acre farm with seven figures of the latest equipment, and you sure can find piles of spilled corn ,as well as ,cobs with kernels on them . -

They always spill some out of the trucks it seems . Also depending on field conditions the trucks will sometimes ride along side the combine and the shute will load directly into it, if they don’t keep even pace you can get some spillage there to I’d imagine . I’d always see small piles ,especially where the trucks park, and enter / exit . -

As they cut it deer get pushed out of it . Afterwards there’s lots of spilled corn on it . Here’s a pic taken from the combine on the farm I hunt . I would often get a call ,telling me when their going to cut . -
I gotta jump in here . I bought my first of dozens of Spyderco’s in 1,991, shortly followed by this sharpener, they started making sharpeners before knives BTW. I belong to both The Spyderco Forum and Blade Forums ,That and my personal dealings with them have showed me the company and it’s owner Sal and his son Eric our of the highest integrity. Sal will answer your questions on his forum and direct any concerns you have to the correct employee if you have a warranty issue , and he follows up on it personally many times . They sent me a new knife on a warranty claim that many on the forum said was my own fault , they donated knives to a charity Police VS Fire event I was involved with as well as countless others across the county , Including 911, where a box of their knives was sent to the workers on site . They have also spent large sums of money fighting the shameless companies blatantly ripping off their patient and trademarks protected property. I understand wanting to save a few bucks, but I could never do that knowing what those ripp off copies have cost a great company that Did the R&D spent the time and money only to be ripped off . I have no idea how “ good “ that sharpener is , but I know the clone knives out there are junk .

Help!!! New hunter this season -- haven't seen a deer yet
Nomad replied to Hank's topic in Deer Hunting
Ever see the “ Hot / Crazy matrix about women ? Well deer hunting it’s, Land / Time Matrix . Good land ( lots of deer ) and lots in time makes for the easiest hunting , poor land and little time the hardest . So increasing one or both will help a lot . Now let everyone you know ,you starred hunting but finding land is hard , that’s about all you have to say , most will not be of help , but you’ll find you’ll get and offer from out of the blue at times. I was in a gift shop in Fla, my brother in law asked how last deer season was, when a lady near by said “ I wish someone will come kill the deer on my farm.” I asked where she lived , “ Iowa ! “ the best deer hunting state around ! we talked but I never followed through . Another time an insurance adjuster was at the house ,saw that I hunted , by the time he left, I had his card and permission to hunt his land in Steuben county . I have a card in my truck right now ,from a guy I used to work with, ran into him at a tire shop, he wrote his number on Firestone’s card , said he inherited his father in laws camp and to come anytime . Spread the word , you might be surprised. -

I’m hunkered down with a Beagle , would like to get out with the daughter sometime Sat or Sun , but she’s pretty booked up and Sun looks like sh!t weather . -
I have a Cabelas Dry Plus parka , orange camo , a virtual sleeping bag it’s so warm . I haven’t worn it much in years as the weather hasn’t warranted it ,I’ve had it at least 15 years , less then $100 , I think . Now it’s bulky but for gun that’s not much of an issue . https://www.gunwinner.com/deals/cabelas-mens-blaze-silent-suede™-parka-thinsulate™-and-4most-dry-plus®

For me the early ‘90s , I don’t recall how I learned of him , even though I lived two miles from him .

I believe they’ll only ship smoked products , find their “ care sheet” online to be sure . This year I gave away most of my second buck , I paid for processing and didn’t mind as it went to a needy family and a friend who likes it . In the future,I’d consider bringing a extra deer to Costanzas, for out of town guys , they’d have to arrange shipping through Costanzas and kick in for my processing . Just a thought , not 100% sure , I want to take this on .

Just started to really blow here in Webster . -
Thanks Phade ! Good to know , interesting, no non compete clause .
-
Well , as Mrs Nomad has been known to say , it always seems that I’m a few inches short , for the task and hand .
-
I have two pair , one has been assigned to dog walking and snow blowing as it’s separating where yours are . Creeks ,ditches and mud make them a good boot for me, although when it’s dry my lace up Danners are a joy to wear , and provide much better ankle support, on uneven ground and such . Mucks are nice as I can tuck my pants inside them, keeping them dry and clean , easy off for drive home ,and easy to wash off mud at home , for drive down the next day . Id like to see a pair , with some type of expandable top , perhaps, just a goretex ,cuff that would come up six inches and cinch down , as I have to cross drainage ditches every time I hunt , and some years it’s a challenge.

Two of my most ,memorable hunts, one in bow and one in gun, were spike kills . A few years back I gave away most of my antlers , kept those , most of the others I couldn’t even remember the hunt . -
Then there’s Danner Boots , each year they did a Friends and Family sale . It was for employees and their friends and family , well the code number spread on the forums . It crashed their system . I finally reached them and they said it wasn’t meant for the general public , but they would honor all orders ,which was 50% off .

One thing Ive learned over the years , don’t get there at opening time , because everyone does that . Ok two, if you bow hunt bring that meat, drop off I was the only one there, pick up maybe 4 ahead of me this year and a one week turn around .

Sadly you’re 25 or so years to late . Thanksgiving week end, would be trucks with the beds full of hunters , going from spot to spot , deer running everywhere all day long . Now we sit and hope we catch something moving in daylight . Zzzzz..... -
I bring mine fresh, but I live 5 minutes from them . This time of year their hours change often , CALL , look on FB, or just ask me to drive over at look at what’s posted on the front door. I only charge one foot of slim stick for that . My belief has always been, that I got my own meat back , but I’m going by memory going back many years . I sent them an email , maybe I’ll swing by today and ask too.

On the job guys yes . Seems contradictory’s to all policies, I couldn’t hang a photo of a woman with her pants pulled down low like that at work , without being told to take it down and told to reread the sexual harassment policy . But they’ve never been known for being consistent .
-
I’ve had sexual harassment, diversity , work place violence training every year on the FD . Then they put out this Calendar, photo shoots done in firehouses and sold out of them . Im not sure why they didn’t call me back for the shoot .
