Worst case I drive over, but she was headed there now and I didn’t see the need for me or my wallet to go .

I really like that idea ! I was going to redesign the shooting window of my green hut ,it’s to, large . One thing I did this year was to staple tar paper over the opening on the inside, then cut smaller windows in that , now I may paint the outside of the green wood that opens black . That and a sign , “ no hunter inside “ should do the trick .

I have a hut on a field not much bigger , this year the farmer mowed the whole thing for me instead of just lanes I had in the past . I like it much better they crossed those lanes pretty fast last year ( first time I ever hunted it , although its been there 8-10 years ) . This year I sat in it the Sat prior to gun opener and had a nice 8 walking all around it, these pics are two days prior to OD 8, 8:14 AM , you can see my hut in the open 70 yards away . My time and camera time there is limited though . They should be hammering that Timothy ! Put out a couple more blinds / stands , seat time during the season is the best “ scouting .”

There ya go . I can’t remember the last time I had to track a deer in gun or bow for that matter . I buy what ever 140 gr 7m08 is cheapest , put it through the heart or both lungs, I’m climbing down as soon as I can clip the gun to my haul line .

In Montana, for my Mullie I just bought a cheap cooler , wrote my name and address on it with marker and used a couple of straps around it .

I use Uber , when visiting other cities , this is 40 miles from my house and a fairly rural area . It would be a one way trip for the driver most likely , once they got me down there not sure they’d find a person wanting to go back up . Then not sure if I could find one down there at 1AM to go back up . Idk

If I go, I’d pick up Pygmy, and any others from Buff / Roch who make it to my house can ride along . If I go all that way I don’t want any excuses from Biz, like his wife is in labor or something .

According to my NYS DEC bow hunting log 26 hours in bow , one buck killed . About 4 hours in gun , one buck killed , most of that was sitting with my daughter, where ,I wasn’t going to shoot .

Well this is interesting, right by where I hunt , getting home would be problematic ,though .

Let’s see first one was in ‘89 it was light out and bow season, more then that idk . All the ones since ,I could maybe come down with morning or afternoon on half or so, dates? No way .

I have two , and I enjoy taking the cards home and seeing what’s around , what made it through and so on. I can see the attraction of cell cameras, especially if your not close or have time to go pull cards . However , it may be a line I don’t want to cross myself . Reading about guys getting pics overnight ,then changing their spot that morning due to those pics, some changing stands mid hunt, because “ the #2 hit lister “ just showed up on camera somewhere else . For a guy who started out killing deer with 12ga slugs shot out of a bird barrel , and if I wanted water proof boots, I slipped bread wrappers over my socks , it’s a bit much . Now I’m not out there in period clothes and a flintlock , but somewhere in between makes me comfortable.

Way to go ! My first year bow hunting ( 1989 ) I killed a button buck as well ,one of my more memorable hunts to this day . Hey anyone can hit a big buck in the kill zone , as its so large ..... Job well done .

My nieces bit me on the calf this summer at a party outside .Then when I came out of her bathroom after washing bite , it cornered me in the house, I reached for my little.380 while yelling to call off the damn dog. No interest in suing they got enough problems . But damn.

Few inches , with ice under . My 70’s Ariens took it to bare pavement . Did mine the young couple nextdoor with the new born ,and the guy across the street . Also in front of mailboxes , fire hydrant, and front walks ,patio and so on .
