No really, I enjoy economics . Found it cleaning out #2s room , she’s a CPA the other books were to boring . This one’s a real page turner .

Only thing left out is my rage , and not those goofy broadheads ,either . I just did my recertification with the Troopers, did it early but my next is now in five years , hoping I don’t have to jump through the new flaming hoops till it’s up in five years , actually I’m hoping they get spanked hard by then .

If I lose my permit , and frankly that’s a possibility as the renewal requirements are next to impossible, interview with the judge ? Impossible, they don’t have time to interview tens of thousands who will have to renew . Tens of thousands all having to take a 16 hour class that doesn’t yet exist, two hours of live fire ,is there a passing score ? There is on the written test, 80% . My handguns will go,out of state , I have four state permits and we’re seriously looking to get a small condo in Fla to winter in .

Here’s something for you non handgun owners ! Any long gun in your vehicle if you’re not in the vehicle , like idk you go to lunch during deer season ,or maybe run into a store on the way to or from . Your gun must be in a safe storage depository, which they define as a temper, impact and FIRE proof safe , oh and it can’t be visible from outside the car ha ha ha . So a giant fire safe that’s also invisible for your car . If some Karen sees your rifle or shotgun even in its case , you could face jail time .

So what is the legal definition of social media , ya I thought so .

As an example of how it’s done in other states . Last Wednesday I turned in my paper work for this Penn. carry permit ,with self defense listed right on the permit . Nine days later I have it .

Here’s an interesting end around , the Republicans gain control of Congress and pass National Reciprocity ,thereby making my Fla,Utah and Penn. permits good in NYS . NY then can then stick their,permit and those insane requirements .

This maybe what has me finally agree with the wife and move South .

So now your permit is good for three years ,then a complete recert, including a 16 hour course that includes two,hours of live fire and an in person interview ! Ha ha ha Can’t carry in any business unless they have a sign stating it’s allowed or you can be charged with of criminal possession of a weapon . oh and a list of all your social media accts. from the last three years to apply for or recert a permit . Thats for starters !

I go opening day as I’m a bow Hunter ! Now I generally keep,the hunts limited and mostly mornings . My thought this year is to take a doe early and can most of her , then wait for the rut mostly . But I do like to keep a presents on the land , park my truck where others can see it , so I’ll go here and there on week ends . A guy from work bought the house right across from where I park ,and he’s tremendous on keeping an eye on the place !

Nope . There are non resident permits ,but mine don’t say non resident ,I don’t question that. They are good in those states, and honored in last I knew 38 other states,which is why travelers like myself get them . The free states just see if your a good guy and give you a permit . Weird ha .

I have NY, Fla , Utah and just applied for Penn.a few days ago . they are all a piece of cake , compared to ny . Penn was a one page form , ten minutes time and $20 cash .

We all know what’s on the table at this point as it’s been all over the news media ,all that’s left is what they’ll finalize tomorrow . it’s not like NYS Gov. Would do anything vindictive ha ha . Did anyone actually believe it would be easier now in NYS ? The time to get your permit was years ago when you first pondered it ! More extensive background checks ? How is that even possible ? Last daughter needed 4 references, and the names of people she has had “ significant relationships “ with , yes she needed the ok from a guy she broke up,with after two years …. 15-20 hours of training that will cost what another couple hundred ,IF you can get in a class . The sign thing is backwards it should be those that forbid CCW posts a sign , few business will post a sign allowing it but that’s the plan . * ok as of now this is not law , just rumor , time will tell

Now I hear , you’ll need live fire training and an in person interview to get a permit . How you can do that as you need a permit to fire a pistol , will be interesting. So more money and a lot more time to get your permit . As I’ve said to anyone who mentioned getting one over the last few decades the time was then . It was never going to be made easier.

I’ve canoed all over Canada from the Yukon to Quebec, backpacked from the ADK to the canyons of AZ and on and on . My friends shoot Mullies , whitetails ,elk and antelope almost at will in Montana . To me the traveling out there , packing for weather from 10 below to 60 ,buying a cooler, getting it cut up ,shipping it home , is juice that’s not worth the squeeze. I also have no desire for another mount , I have two, and the kids will throw them out when I die as it is . But for many it’s a dream and I hope they get to experience that . Only hunted out West twice , even though I can hunt Montana with friends each year if I wanted . But I learned some tricks , and I’m sure other states may have similar. One was a non resident deer tag had like 12% odds at the time , but if you paid an extra $600 and applied for the deer elk combo your odds went to 66% . Since I had no other expenses other then airfare , food and beer that was an easy choice . Then towards the season ,there is always guys who turn in their tags for a partial refund , these became available again , but it was a separate drawing that not many knew of . good luck
