  1. I’ll text you the number , my former coworker on county line has a pole barn , I was storing my boat there , $300 . I think I gave him $350 last year , as the price never went up . Would you be pulling it in and out a lot ? He had his zero turn in front of the boat ,as the boat just sat there fall- spring .
  2. Based on hose diameter and a six foot length , you’re talking about .138 of a gallon .
  3. I have our driveway sealed every 2-3 years or so , over the years it slowly rose in price from oh, $69 to,last time somewhere just over $100. Just called the same company I often use , $240 . I pulled out a can of coffee from our panty , the price sticker ,was $5.99 , same can in the store today , $12.99 . Ive been buying some things in bulk and online ,to help level things out . I take a low dose aspirin a day , 30 for $3 at the store , 1000 for $10 online , double edge razor blades $10 for 100 online . Cancelled one streaming service, and many on the street have changed trash companies,to the one thats lowest ,little things but if one focuses cutting back a grand in savings isn’t that hard , just unfortunate it’s needed . Depending on how things go next year , may cut the lawn service ,and leave the camper in the driveway ,and not pay for year round storage . Selling the old boat put a little cash in my pocket, and eliminated , storage cost, insurance , boat and trailer registration fees . We’re doing ok but , but if things continue down the same path it’ll take its toll .

    What to do...

Buy ‘em a trail camera as a welcome gift . Tell them the salt is illegal and the DEC patrols the road , the camera will take pictures 24/7 . I’m sure they’ll see deer as well without the salt block .
  5. Can’t upgrade from that ! Im 63, been going out in boats every summer since ‘59, ok maybe ‘60 . Cottage was built then not sure when dad got first boat . ZERO interest in another . Thanks a ‘65 ! Covered every night even at the cottage in a hoist . Stored inside every winter , and not in rat and squirrel infested barns . It only half sunk once, motor completely under water . Dried it out , I think it ran better after !
  6. Thanks . There have been multiple generations of my family that used that boat ,since the mid ‘70s . I’m thrilled to see another young family use it . I let a lot go , lights haven’t worked in 30 years, nor has horn , bow and stern lines were old ski ropes, tires were old, but I only towed it three miles to the Bay . This guy is going through it all , which is great !
  7. So I sold it . Now to those who contacted me here, being so old I did want to sell it to anyone I was even remotely connected to . Decent guy with a young family , just wants to take his kids out a few times a year, and see if boats were for him . I took him out and showed him the ropes , from launching, starting , driving ,fueling and on and on . I knew he’d go through the old boat and upgrade what I let go over the 50 years it’s been in our family . He didn’t try to “ deal “ on the price ,so I got the “ box” out, extra prop, winterizing stuff, spark plug wrench and more .oh and I tossed in a combo set of O’Brien skis and a tube . he sent me this pic today
  8. ya my daughter is a CPA, 70 hour weeks, 4-5 months a year . Forbidden to take anytime off during those months , which start right after deer season, if he’s lucky . Not a job for a Hunter .

I will often ,especially on large trees, cut a sapling and use that to move the strap around the trunk , from the ground . Or my pole saw if I have it along . I only use ladders , I think right now 8 I’m not 100% without counting , not moving any this year , not sure if I could find a couple . My magic bean field ,has the best beans I’ve seen in the area right now , killed a lot of bucks there, a handful of tens . Couple weeks back, before the rain .
  10. Totally agree . If we had a yard appropriate to a sizable garden , I just might do it , hell I grew up working in the garden ( perhaps that’s a reason I don’t ) . The worst job was picking up the Pears that fell, as they were full of Yellowjackets , blackface hornets ,and wasps . Of course I’d throw a pear full of them at the tree trunk . .
  11. My folks had a garden on an empty lot next to the house , lot was 150 x 70, most of it was planted, the rest was for our burn barrel , dumping waste oil etc . Mom canned and froze a ,lot of it we had fruit trees as well . Ive come to the conclusion that gardens ,like boats are best if they’re owned by friends and neighbors . We have three young neighbors with pretty good gardens , they keep us well supplied . One also has chickens . The neighbor who grows dope in his basement hasn’t yet shared . I admire the hands on approach ,and off grid aspect for sure , I’m just to lazy by nature to do, it on any meaningful scale .

    Beer

    Beer

Take two store bought bottles of water ,dump one and cut the ring off the top . Take the second and cut the top off, where it starts to slope towards the cap , so you’re left with what looks like a funnel . Use a needle nose plier to hold the top in boiling water . Once it’s soft you can pull the cap with ring off intact . Now pour a clear liquor,I like gin and tonic into the empty bottle ,and screw the top with ring on . Cmac and most venues allow one sealed bottle of water , which you now have . They wand you as you walk ,they don’t even look at the bottle . i don’t mind paying like ten bucks for a 16oz craft beer, but $16 for crap ticks me off . Oh TF, park at Lowes free and an easy walk and quick out to the road , I’m guessing you do 332 to the thruway ? Not my route after a concert I go back roads to 490 . oh and get seats under the shell ! The grass is for the kids .

So sorry our daughter handled everything . Aug 6th , we booked rooms at the downtown Hyatt and have limo service , to the venue . Each Benjamin you give gets your one day in one of my stands ( non rut ) and a 12 pack of that grapefruit beer .

Usually mid August or so, but we have our daughters wedding the first week of August, then Alaska the last week and first week,of September. That works well for staring to shoot a few arrows mid September , I did just put ,my two cameras out . The summers for the pool , just sold the boat .

    MLB 2022

Every year a friend rents out a picnic area at the Red Wings stadium and throws a party for 1200 of his closest friends, food, craft beer game tickets included. Heres the Mrs and I making our entrance.
  18. Judoka, I’m in total agreement with your post ,if we’re going to fight ,well let’s end it as quick as possible . The wokeness today is killing more then just the military, the FD I retried from has super low moral now , which would have ever seemed possible just a few years ago . There’s been a number of guys of rank, taken out by a new person filing a complaint over a minor issue that should have been handled in house , but now they run to some city board who doesn’t want to know your side . I know two Capts who retired based upon not just age ,health and financial reasons , but didn’t want to work under today’s conditions.
  19. I believe it’s homes as well , I don’t have time to sort through the 130 some pages right now ,the Mrs and I are going for a walk on the beach .
  20. I have a six inch Dan Wesson .22 with the sweetest trigger I’ve ever used . Even DA is supper light and smooth , it’s on both the Mrs and my permits ,and it will soon be on our daughters as well . That will be our “ training gun “ if need be down the road .
  21. The guy who stopped the shooter broke no laws in carrying in the mall . People need to understand the laws Vs. Mall policies .
  22. Most have no clue ,sadly . They think their “hunting guns “ are ok lol . One thing about being older ,is many widows just give away their husbands guns ,off the books . But yes I’ve given money and joined more groups to fight this . But frankly my back is getting tried from carrying all the other gun owners who do nothing .
