Once again ,I’m in the suburbs , our biggest issue is deer eating our landscaping . Very good schools , and healthcare , I can have my boat in Lake Ontario in five minutes from my driveway . It’s a wonderful place to raise kids , we’re NOT in the city . But if Biden’s build back better stays on the same path , it may very well be one giant sh!t sandwich for us all in a couple years . I’m in the burbs, with ducks deer and rabbits in my yard , with an additional 116 acres in the country . Both kids are on their own a RN here who owns a home in a suburb and a CPA in Buffalo . The issue is the their proximity to the city as well as working in it , and one living in Buffalo proper . Also the cities problems will / are bleeding out of city lines . I have no immediate plans to buy any , although I did get some sweet .357 today .

Actually I priced out some body amor just yesterday. Rochester is a war zone , RPD is down 150 men, oh they’ll say only 100, because they shifted 50 off of staff to the line . Just had a talk with a friend still working for the FD ( he’s a Capt ) he said you can’t get a cop or an ambulance ( this is the FD that can’t, citizens forget it ) . The other night a ATV riding a wheelie hit a cop car head on , rider jumped on another ATV and took off, a ,large crowd gathered and took the ATV that hit the cop car …. Cops ordered not to chase . As far as the ATV , those and dirt bikes ride the streets 50 at a time , they’re stolen from the burbs , most riders are armed and they control the streets . I avoid ,the city at all costs , and when forced to , I go the long route , I also stepped up my carry , and frankly I’m thinking of adding a long gun to the truck . I know if my daughter gets caught up in some sh!t, most likely I’ll beat the cops by a country mile . While I didn’t buy the BA , when the Gov says no , makes me want to even more . Oh and the FD now has it, and many ambulance personal wear it , citizens may not be far off…..

Had a physical recently , first after I retired 4 years back . Vital signs good, lung sounds good , EKG “ fantastic , keep doing what you’re doing “ , so I just ordered more cigars and bought some Gin , Drs orders . My weight was up,to a level I’ve never been ,although Dr never said word one . 185 is my feel the best number , I often drift up,to 192-195 over the winter then drop back down . Last year I never dropped down ,and Fla this winter killed me . So I’m going to drop 15-20 , I do nothing special , cut out junk , cut back on booze , eat smaller meals .

The police. Depts timeline has changed more times , then where I pick to sit opening morning . The big unasked question in my mind is this . He crashed his truck near the school got out and fired a rifle at two people , that would generate multiple 911 calls . Which would / should then have caused the 911 center to call the school to have them initiate their lock down procedures , as well as caused some responding officers to go to the initial shots fired site and others to the school . Yet 12 minutes later he strolls into the school through an open door met with zero resistance.from LE . my bad he wrecked his truck OUTSIDE the school, fired at the people and the school, yet they didn’t go into lock down , wtf ,cops response time 16 minutes In his comments, Escalon said that the suspect, Salvador Ramos, shot his grandmother and then wrecked his truck in a ditch outside the school at 11:28 a.m. He exited the truck with a rifle and shot at two people across the street, Escalon said. One of the issues with an officer in each school, is the shear numbers of schools . A quick look shows 11 schools in my town plus a couple private ones . That’s more then the total number of patrol officers on any one shift . We’d need to hire a boatload of cops , then working exclusively in a school isn’t going to lead to much , policing experience for those new guys . As it is those positions have not exactly always attracted the hard chargers . I guess they could be rotated in and out . Would have been nice if the cops at this last one hadn’t stood outside for 40 minutes ,arguing with parents who were screaming at them to go in . I thought we changed that sog after columbine .

I recall a diversity class years ago, where I was taught it was racist to ask a black co worker ,if he watched the game last night , wtf if I didn’t ask him would that also be racist as I excluded him from normal everyday conversations we have ?

Grass is very good ,flowers starting to bloom , ordering the mulch today . The dirt on the corner is where Greenlight dug up the yard last Fall, I have other dug up spots too . They came through while we were camping and repaired the damage in our yard , the only one they repaired in the neighborhood out of dozens. haha Several neighbors asked if I did the work myself , nope I called them and they sent a landscape company. They also have been calling everyone from Greenlight to the town with no results. You gotta call the right person …..

People will cut back where they can , there’s guys here who drive 50k trucks ,hauling air , yet drive around looking to save a few pennies on a gallon of gas .

I’m certainly not much of a Turkey hunter, but the guy who,lives behind my spot shoots a Tom every year . He goes in around 9AM , this year he got it on day one, after taking his wife to breakfast .

DW. .22 was my first handgun sometime in the ‘80s, what a great gun , best trigger I’ve ever had, both in single and double action . Six inch blue , still have it . Had a 8 inch SS heavy barrel .44 mag ,that sucker ran just under four pounds ,but that helped with the .44’s recoil . Killed a few deer with it . Sold it to a friend of a member here many years back , it was the only DW model he lacked in his collection . They were / are ? Great guns .
