The last 5 years for me the decline has been noticeable . I spend more time stretching, and I actually practice getting up,off the floor with out using my hands .

WTF , their website said MASKS are still required , are they for real !? ive worn them maybe 4x in the last year or more . I’m going to have a hard time with this .

Agree,most guys I know pick up,their compound a couple weeks prior, to make sure it’s on . I probably shoot a hundred or so arrows a year in practice , my first arrows after a year of not shooting are kill shots . Its not that hard , I’m,puzzled as why guys like to make like today’s compounds take months of practice and hundreds of arrows to ,master . Oh and since I have a bow I can draw again with my bad shoulders , my xbow largely sits those two weeks . Oh it comes out a few times, heck I paid a grand for it gotta get some use, but I find it a burden mostly . ive told the story before ,a bunch of guys on the job,shoot in a 3D league, one guy who never shot a bow ,went along one night , he borrowed a guys bow , liked it so he went each week . He won the league! Using a borrowed bow each night , zero practice ,in between shoots . I got into bow hunting in the mid- late 80s as it seemed to offer better opportunities to Kill bucks, shot one my first year at 8 yards ( fingers single pin ,feathers ,flipper rest ) and most years since . Owned three bows in that time , never owned a range finder ( average shot 12 yards or so ) or all the other BS toys guys think they need to kill deer , with their challenging compounds .

Having worked in the ghetto for many years , I’m in complete agreement, time there , changed my mind 180 . I find this whole crossbow thing quite funny actually, but then I killed deer with a single pin, flipper rest , shooting fingers , 2117s with two blades and feathers , guys today act like modern compounds are a challenge lol . But , but , but I gotta draw it lol . Ya with massive let offs , drop a way rests, back tension release , oh after a range finder reading, and lighted knocks , just like Ishi did ! If you don’t know who Ishi is , you’re knowledge of the sport is poor .

When you do,find it , do yourself a favor and buy a few boxes . This is my shoot up pile , does not include my stash for a rainy day pile , as that’s off site .

Canned ( vacuum packed ) 20 pounds of rice yesterday. If one is interested in combatting food inflation , this is a good way, 20# cost me $10 . Filled 13 plus quarts , which when cooked will expand 3 - 4 times it’s size . Add a can of mushroom soup, some chicken ,add some spices simple and cheap dinner . The lighting isn’t the best in that part of the basement.

lol . I feel my biggest downturn happened around age 57-58 , time will tell .

I agree with that, and said it myself , however I was shocked at the number of gym regulars, who returned to the gym after covid shut it down 30 pounds heavier. One instructor told me many gained more then that , I was just guessing though . These were people who were there 5-6 days a week for an hour to an hour and a half of workouts . perhaps that’s more then a reasonable amount idk what reasonable is . Of course I don’t know if they ate and drank more during that time away . I do know the gym was closed and they got fat .

Congrats ! That’s a nice overall package at a fair price . Guys need to remember here it’s a used Shield ,new you can get one for around $320 , Blazer hardball is $16 a box so he got $96 worth for $80 , toss the five mags and the other ammo and it’s a nice over all deal . Im not driving six hours nice , but nice .

I have just discovered a new way I’m determining who I supply ammo to ! Over last two years , I’ve got ammo and primers( small pistol,and rifle ) , for many guys here, the gym, neighbors etc . One of the Buffalo guys is picking up some sabots ,from my daughter in Buffalo this week , I bought them she muled them back . Zero profit just enjoy helping guys out . From this point on pro crossbow guys only , oh it’s not much but makes me smile .

I’ve known Bob, for a 20 years or so. I’ve been on the show a number of times ,including a 20 some minute interview. I have his cell number , know where his house is and so on . The “ king “ is an pussy that’s for sure,that’s why he didn’t use his real name on Twitter like I do . Bob ,well he lets the little head lead , like most guys do . Only the rest of you aren’t in the spotlight with many looking to take you down .

Took the Mrs with me yesterday at my buddy’s place . Walk a bunch of trails , lots of sign . She said in all seriousness,” they should be laying all over the place .” Lol . I said that’s only in Steuben county ….

Just bought tickets to the Pirates vs Cubs ! We have a wedding in Virginia this June so we’re hitting Pittsburg on the way , as some know I’m a Cards fan and watch them every year in Pittsburg. This game I’m a Pirate fan ! Do love the park and city anyway , so that’s not hard . We always buy Club seats , the seats are wider , padded and exclusive excess to upscale food and bars ,with carpeted floors , high top tables with phone chargers , glassed in patios if it rains . Not much more $ . Go Pirates ?

My friend went there and never left ! I went out every May for two weeks . Of course it’s way built up now , where we used to shoot in the desert is all homes now . I recommend tubing the Salt River , if you like drunk young women that is . He worked during school as a velvet at some good clubs, made a ton of money, and at the end of the night “ met “ a few women .

Btw I ran into Tom at the gym today , hope you were satisfied . He was doing chin-ups ( reps ) with a 45# plate hanging off his waist .

There was a business in my first due, that “made” bottled water . They had all the different bottles on display, from fancy ones that looked like wine bottles for NYC restaurants, Vegas casinos , and plain Jane bottled water . It all was filtered Rochester tap water .

Mine always complains about boiling deer skulls, I just don’t get it , the other day she boiled a chicken carcass . I don’t see much difference. Better soup perhaps, but she’s not going to even hang the thing on a wall .

I heat mink oil in a small pan and apply with a paint brush , sometimes work it in with a rag too . Yesterday , I cleaned two pair of Mucks, two pair of hiking boots and sprayed them with Sawyers , must be what bored old guys do on rainy April days .

I do though admire the self sufficient aspect of it though . I often think we should have built on this one four acre chunk of our land , build a stocked pond, large garden , increase my canning , wood stove with an endless supply of firewood nearby , perhaps even solar panels. Deer well, they’re there too .
