  1. I always have one on me when hunting .... Sold my Dan Wesson 8" SS .44 mag to a collector a few years back , his permit was as thick as a deck of cards !! No exaggeration. I dropped a few with that . Finished a few with my SW 586 4" .357 .
  2. An occasional loss does happen , however put me in the use PM camp for advise . Too many" I smoked one " that is never found . Sometimes the I lost one threads out number the bow hunters success thread . perhaps that does not reflect reality , but can look, that way to outsiders ( antis ) viewing the site .
  3. $50 takes all three , will not separate . Take em all or the scraper gets em . Located in Webster ,or can meet me at work east side of Roch. Near Culver rd . That chain on is a beast and will out last you, no cables to rust or get in way of feet . Need Moog like strength to hang .... Pm me . thats a custom Nomad camo paint job , guaranteed to fool deer !
  4. Yep all our friends , condos , houses and even trailers all in good shape , I may even go,for a week or so . Who wants to watch a beagle ? I'll bring you back at t shirt and a dozen oranges .
  5. Never killed a deer past 60 yards with my .270 . But as far as the 250 one inch groups , I think I'll go with the Marine Corp sniper / instructor that's been posting .
  6. The wife ran off with the handyman , the husband and dog are now being serviced by a local who has exclusive hunting use .
  7. First fp @ 20 , first BH @ 25. BH top pic .
  8. Well stands are mostly set, shooting ok, tons of time off. Need to buy lic. and wash clothes from last year .
  9. I'm the same way Steve . 20 yards from my tree is a 40 yard wide path, it's not hard to figure out where they move through an area that wide .
  10. I kill a lot at around ten yards, the rest seem to be twenty or just under . I have some spots where I could shoot thirty , just never had to . If you know where they move through, it's not hard to be within twenty yards, that's a forty yard wide area right ? Twenty each side of tree .
  11. A " bad" winter would be great, it may cause Mrs Nomad to stay in Fla with her friends even longer ! C'mon snow !!
  12. First shot tonight at a pie plate.....
  13. Darn Kindle . Aa far as Webster, my family has been here since Lake RD was a dirt rd. They had to take me I'm a legacy .
  14. Bow I generally stop them , if they haven't on their own , or they're on a trot for sure . im at full draw at the time .There is quite a divide on this umoung hunters on here that I respect the most , interesting .
  15. Here's that plate next to a hide from one of my bucks .
  16. Ha ha ha ! I am happy with 3 inch groups at the poi . I can live with an occasional 4 . I have killed deer with an arrow most years ,and some years a few since ,'89 . My farthest shot and that was once was 25 yards . I do practice a bit at 30 and sometimes 40 , although not yet this year .
  17. Pretty much don't ever look at level, don't recall once looking at it this year in practice . Draw the bow float pin over spot and shoot . I never think about grip , level , anything really . Draw and shoot , go drag deer out . thank you Stubborn1vt !! 30 years two bows dead deer every year , could not tell you what arrows or sites or all that carp guys get worked up over . Its not the hammer but the carpenter .
  18. Here is what non hunting landowners hear when hunters are complaining about other hunters . Blah blah blah treestand, blah blah blah deer or was it beer ? As a landowner who has let others hunt ( I don't hunt our property ) they call me I say yes, not sure I'm signing anything though . im not reffing anything , don't care who'puts a stand next to another, not my problem . Follow the rules on buck size and no driving after that not my concern .
  19. Taking "care" of the dog seems way easier then , clearing lanes and posting .....
  20. Actually the last thing landowners want is to be refereeing hunters on their land . I see two choices I'd decide on . 1. Hunt it and see what happens, could be just him , he complains they say you have permission too. Now he either relents or your stuff goes missing . 2. Move on . So far by the time they moved in they have given permission to two hunters , pretty soon it'll be a every other hunter in the area.
  21. Yep for camo and warmth, roll up cuff of release hand .
  22. Well they finally found a use for turkey burgers I guess . tommy this thread is two years old .
  23. Ha I only spent in the 5 figures for a vehicle 2x in my life, one being the only new car I ever bought 1,991 Mazda MPV . Just didn't fit with our financial goals .
  24. Well my first arrow wasn't the best today, 4 inches high , 2 over . Next two spot on, poor concentration on first shot .
