    Subaru ?

I'm not 100% on what that is or why some type just letters . Heres a couple pictures you can decide yourself . I'd add a smiley face but I don't know how .
  2. Just test drove an Outback , I really like it , the boxer engine , the safety ratings .Symmetrical AWD and a really good resale value, are strong positives . All sorts of cameras , lane change assist , adapted cruise control and so forth . The Honda CRV being a now distant second . Dont worry I'm keeping the Buick ...... Thoughts ? Any Subaru owners here ?
  3. Well I have two single daughters, debt free good jobs, gun owners and hunters . If you're a decent guy , you could hit the jackpot .
  4. Winner winner chicken dinner ! The longest run on sentance on the forum today. Thats from a guy who, sucks at garmmer and spelling . If you need more tags I got stacks of them ......
  5. Lol . 45 yards !!! Ive been bow hunting 30 years today's compounds are so,far ahead of what was out there when bow hunting started . Personally I see modern compounds as pretty easy . Had a "fill in" at the firehouse today, knowing we are both hunters , the talk drifted that way . His first bow and he's shooting 1 inch groups at 30 yards right from the get go . Btw my first bow buck was in '89 at 8 yards fingers flipper rest . I've never took one past 25, and I've killed over 100 bow and gun . Personally a Xbow seems combersome to me for, little advantage over today's compounds. 45 yards my God son my average bow kill is closer to 15.
  6. No problem . Old age or older age is not for the weak . In the academy my nick name was Ironman, when I came out on the line it was The Rhino, no door or wall could stop me , get in the Rhinos way and you'd get the horn , now I'm like an angry possum, it's hard by I except that.
  7. Awesome ! I hope to be on the boat the next couple days may even try the pool ! My tan is still pretty good looks like I can build it up some more . Oh I'll hunt a bit early on , but the rut is where it's at .
  8. As one with two impinged shoulders, bone spurs and the beginning of frozen shoulder I'll field this . Shooting the bow hurts I start as late as I can ( August ) and shoot through the season as all bow hunters should . But as time goes on it gets worse .
  9. I love seeing honest shots, I often wonder how many first shots are " do overs ."
  10. Right , living in Webster and all .....
  11. I married the farmers daughter , it was a steep price for sure but I'm lazy and it seemed like an easy route . Each Oct she says " see you around Christmas " ....... I work about 3 days a week and have 9 weeks off pre year as well .
  12. That's really neat ! Would not work for me in many of my spots, a deer cart is often a pain and not worth the effort . Distance is fields or one woods would be nice though .
  13. I guess I should call them , but I'll ask, here. Daughter has permit from Monroe (4 months btw ) we only issue full unrestricted carry, no interviews, classes or other bs. Say she moved to Erie, I heard that they can't overrule first county, so,they just issue the same right off to a transplant . Retrictions are just an administration thing and not any law you're bound by, the judge adds say hunting / target only . You still can legally carry it , he may revoke it if he finds out that's it .
  14. I do wash clothes in scent free soap , and store and transport in a tote. I use the tote mostly because I hunt out of a car, so I need to have warm/cold and extra gear with me , but frankly the top is off it most of the time . No scent loc clothes ( well one jacket but it was just a good price) no sprays, ozone stuff, magic beans or voodoo spells . Gun season I hunt mostly in street clothes with light weight camo pants over them, makes it easy to go to town for lunch . Bow season I still go eat in my base layers with jeans and a sweat shirt over them . most of my bow buck kills are under 20 yards, farthest gun one in recent memeory was 60 , most are in bow range though.
  15. All my best wishes on your birthday !

    Beer

still at work, this was yesterday between ceremony and reception. Added a pic of myself and our two girls , just because I'm proud .
  17. A metal band will work well, just bolt on one end so,it folds , then the other just before you hang .
  18. After to Burlinton Coat Factory , the best store to met slightly hard up late middle age women . Should be a pop up blind joke here somewhere too....
  19. My outer garments sat in an open tote since last year. Now they're in a pile next to the washer. During the season they'll sit on shevles in my gun room, dress for the day, toss some extras in the tote, place that in car .
  20. Great book every hunter should own it ! I bought several and give them out to hunters I know . My unlicensed tracking dog does pretty good ....
  21. Not if I gotta cram three cards in my wallet . There are six slots in my Saddle Back wallet , five are filled now . My paper one takes up no room behind the slots .A one piece plastic permit with perhaps a magnetic strip , I'd be all for ,it .j I have plastic permits from other states, love 'em, one card . Not going to carry three from NYS though . I don't care if my paper one goes through the wash ( it has ) is worn or unreadable .
  22. Isn't the plastic a two piece to start with ? One the permit , one that lists guns ? If that's the case id need three , no way I'm going plastic then .
  23. handguns are treated as NFA in NY? that's weird. Pain No , but each gun, make ,model , caliber ,ser # is listed on our permit . Maybe ten or so per page .
  24. His pistol permit had so many pages it was that thick . He said he caries a Glock if a cop wants to see his permit , he says " here start at the G's and go from there ."
