  1. 54 here, mostly going to look for the watch I lost night. Pulled out my old metal detector I've had since the '70's still works! Had batteries in it from years ago when a guy used it to find his knife ,the batteries had not leaked which was amazing .
  2. Moving away from screw ins to sticks,Lone Wolf my favorite, picked up some Muddy ones at Dicks yesterday as they don't carry LW. They seem awful big and heavy though.
  3. 4 doe passed by 20 yards to thick to shoot there, they are supposed to them cross into the opening .
  4. Thanks I was not either then I got my father and grandfathers Hamiltons , then bought a G shock for a vacation where I knew I would not be carrying my cell, then a Hamilton of my own. That's how the sickness started .
  5. So I get on stand and my watch is not on my wrist .the lugs are not drilled all the way through and I think when I took my pack off to trim around another stand the straps of the pack oped it off ! Not my most expensive one , but it did cost more then my bow .....it has super bright lums it should be glowing nice in the dark, of its face up ! Find out in a couple hours in guess
  6. Just pulled out my long sleeve ASAT t shirt, heading down in a couple hours.
  7. I thought it said dragging..... As I age I'm all for a new way of doing that!
  8. Mine was my Dads back I the day I used it when he was not going out. He passed 2 yards ago at 89 . That's a good idea I should take it out a d knock something down.
  9. Oh I forgot she has worn an hunting coat..... See it does work!
  10. I prefer a stand that is where the big bucks are ! I have many ladder stands a bunch of hang ons,and a Lone Wolf climber. More and more I'm liking ladder stands, easy to set up and move, easy to get into. I'm liking screw in steps less and less for my hand ons and buying Lone Wolf climbing sticks here and there to replace them.
  11. My daughter met her first boyfriend at her hunter safety class...... I'm as confused as a termite in a tin can,as to why guys at a gun club are not all over her.
  12. Stone yours and some others are sad stories,I just don't get some people at all.
  13. Years ago I went through a State Police check point during gun season. I had a white long underwear top on with bloody sleeves and a deer rolled up in a trap clearly visable in my mini van just behind front seats ( middle and rear seats removed during deer season ). He glanced at me checking the seat belt, the inspection sticker said have a nice day......
  14. Sometime in the early '80's,town of Ontario near Webster boarder. Long barrel rem. mod.11 came to,some Tinks 69 . Wish I still had that sweater ..... Last time Tinks worked for me.
  15. some would say a dummy sits in my stands every time ...... I thought of this years ago too. Perhaps my waterski spotter could put an orange coat on.
  16. I see them all the time, one hunts the farm another lives a mile away,my buddy golfs with another. Great guys.
  17. I know Ted, he grew up down the st. from me ,My parents used him as their lawyer,as poa for my Mom I fired him after the safe act passed. I'm so happy to see the voters fire him as well.
  18. I'm no Luddite, but I liked the old mail in card. Fill out the card in the field along with your tag, toss it in mailbox as you pull into driveway....... I guess it saves them the trouble of transferring the info off all the cards into the system .

Sorry to hear that ,heal up well. I work as a firefighter on a Truck Co. So I'm on ladders a lot, last week opened the roof on a ripping attic fire, but I'm almost ready to,hire guys to clean my gutters . The class 3 ladders most have at home and even the class 1 's are nothing like the ones we use on the job. Then add in if I fall at work I'm covered ,fall at home ,I'm out of work...... It's a long season I'd like to,think you could sit in a blind sometime during gun.
  20. Great day! Walking the dog in t shirt cut the grass short to,let the wind handle my leaves, all the windows open, wonderful ! Got 3 weeks off coming up to hunt, although I'll hunt Fri AM then move a stand and trim around another .
  21. Had a similar thing many years back. Went through close side ribs out the off side ribs at kind of at what i'll call the arm pit, then it went completely though the leg bone. 2 Blade Mangus ( not Stinger ) touched up,the head and was good for a few more deer.
  22. It sucks I get it , but he did not steal your anything as you did not own it. You had a nice ten year ride for next to nothing , he out bid you this year . Been there myself , there are guys I lost out to who will pay the property tax to hunt . The farm I've been on for 25 years had a guy remodel a bathroom for free just to hunt ! Some deer meat or a bottle of wine won't get you much when land is pushing 6 k an acre
  23. Decent doe just came by just a bit farther then I like to shoot . Best condition and slowest hunt this year....
  24. Turkey's , criows and combines so far .one deer chasing another all over ciut corn on walk in . 7 55 really tall spike in beans let's hope some others moving .....
