  1. Yes to some it is, this has been brought up before here ,so I was waiting . That said to me it's ethical to walk your dog and find it . Deer search is often fruitless as they can be real busy and your sol . Coyotes gotta eat to id guess .
  2. Slept in! Good luck to everyone out. All the crops have been cut around my spot, hundreds of acres of beans and corn,it'll all be plowed up soon as well. Moving stands tomorrow, letting it sit for a few days ,and hoping some stick around......
  3. Half the guys I know do. 26 years a bow hunter 31 years of concealed carry , i don't stop because I'm wearing camo 1/2 mile off the road.
  4. Well 4th sit has started! 19 deer on 1st 3. They cut a couple hundred acres of beans by me still working other side of woods. This stand has paid off year after year , almost ready to pop in an Atomic fireball ! 5:45 busted by a doe......
  5. Don't know about blood lights. However I own a large number of lights from Surefire,Streamilght,Four7s, Fenix ect. I use a Fenix PD 35. Settings from 10 to 900 lumens. 140 hours at 10 and about 2 at the highest setting. 10 is plenty for back and forth in the dark and 900 will light up a whole football field likes it's day time. Plenty bright at mid range settings for finding blood. I run a rechargeable stick but carry a set of cr 123a as back ups. With luck I'll be lighting up a cut bean field tonight to recover my buck I plan to shoot .
  6. Young buck 10 yards Now 4 doe at 50 yards moving off though two are fat slobs
  7. Calm cool and clear turkeys all over. Beans are cut and corn to on one side ......
  8. I have a string full of carcass tags, the old paper ones . I have a ton of the old paper license ,the ones with the stamps you had to sign across, often I signed on each side not across ,to persevere the stamps .yes a roll of the dice.
  9. I busted one trespassing turkey hunter wearing one last May !
  10. Mine are about 15 years old,a set of bibs and a long sleeve shirt. I have no idea where i got them . I know from looking around last year picking is slim.
  11. Keep at it. It worked well for my shoulders,I went 3x a week plus all the home exercises . When I used up all my visits I had made progress just not enough ,I kept at it did my pt stuff at the gym,and although I can't do,much pressing movements yet I can shoot my bow pain free, and each week I can do more and more. So stay with it, and I had ups and downs along they way,but slowly more ups then down days. Best of luck.
  12. turkeyfeathers, on 04 Oct 2014 - 12:27 PM, said: I don't process my own deer so I also look at the $ to get a big doe processed vs a 80 pound deer. My processor charges me half when I bring in one, although I try not to..... But he knows I bring him a few deer each year and send others there. This one temped me for ten minutes last Sat.
  13. I'm of the thought that one should be able to draw their bow while seated with feet off the ground under ideal conditions . Now when you'er on stand in the cold for hours your draw should still be smooth with minimum movement and effort .
  14. Draw level and bend, but honestly I've shot every way. Sitting, standing, standing and dropping down some to clear a branch, seated and leaning out and turning behind tree. Idk I don't see much differance. I shoot from stands in practice and every time I'm in a stand hunting I shoot a field point . I say Phade has it right, hold your form for a couple seconds after the shot,( follow through) often folks drop the bow to peak after the shot, but the drop starts before the arrow has cleared the bow.
  15. Nice job! My first bow kill in '88 was a BB as well,8 yard shot .
  16. I have not had to deal with anything like this in 25 plus years, but if a guy has a hang on set then I would pretty much stay away from it. Heck use his position to hunt where deer will skirt him. It's hard to tell who was there first if one is using a climber .
  17. I have know idea how that happened
  18. My first two sits of this bow season I coulda shot 4 ......

  20. Well I'm no where near you,but welcome to the hunting community . I hope you meet up with fellow hunters ,but you can learn on your own, just a lot of trial and error.
  21. Drive out lane look across bean field into green field see large deer glass it. Buck outside the ears and tall. He's locked onto my car at over 500 yards . He was headed towards brush I was set up on.....
