  1. I got a little excited when he was ," wiping "off his barrel......
  2. I not a pool expert in any way. When I bought our agp I asked about center drains at the pool store because my buddy mentioned them.the salesman said ," that between the owners of the pool store and all the workers, none of the, had center drains in their agp." That's was good enough for me.
  3. No that's mostly true...... I myself say we must have a smart and good looking Mailman ! Let's just say I was'nt college material .
  4. Thanks you guys. They got there by hard work, the oldest had no AP classes in high school and her sat s were not high enough to,get In UB,but her act's just made it.The youngest is just a bull dog ,once she grabs hold watch out she won't let go. When I beat her in chess she'd knock the board over and say. " set them up ,were playing till I win" ! Now maybe the oldest will have time to,deer hunt again.......
  5. Oh ya, thanks. Ps I must have a smart mailman.......
  6. We had a busy weekend! Both girls earned their BS ,the oldest in nursing the youngest in accounting. Both graduated Summa CumLaude , so were quite proud . The oldest has the last step In The hiring process at a hospital next week, and the youngest one more year to get the hours for her CPA , but she has an internship this summer with one of the "big four ", That should lead to a job as well. Things are pretty good.
  7. I'm pretty sure that's wrong. There are 100's perhaps 1,000s walking around Monroe county with multiple permits. There are companies teaching classes for Utah and Fla permits all across the state. If it was illegal I'm sure someone would have noticed.....
  8. Zimmerman beat me to it, and PA stopped honoring FLA a while back as well.
  9. Ya I worked for a safe company. U.L. Was in there all the time checking our work ,accounting for all there numbered U.L. Labels. They have several levels, 1/2 ,hour one hour etc. When the ul guys came in it was a little like the irs, was going over your tax forms. You may know everything is ok but those guys were serious ! Some of the higher ratings require the safe to withstand say 1,700 degrees for an hour, cool down, the safe is dropped like 20 ( say falling through the burned out floor of your home ,reheated. The inside temp.s must stay below the charring point of paper. This is why I stated you want ul labels .factory labels mean nothing,ul comes in and makes sure everything is perfect or there labels don't go on. Take note those that live in the sticks need higher ratings, because your fire protection just isn't there, so expect your safe to drop into the basement I guess...... Here's a link I found. http://www.klsecurity.com/ul_ratings/1-hour-2-hr-3-hours.html And another http://www.sentrysafe.com/University/Safes_101
  10. Here's a good link about gun "safes". Angle grinder and I got side side cut off any big box store gun safe in under one minute, they'er really not much more the a locker with a heavy door. Which is why hiding it and keeping your mouth shut is key...... http://gunsafereviewsguy.com/articles/myths-about-gun-safe-theft-protection/
  11. 3 gobbling today. First was as I walked in, stopped waited for light called but he would not come in. 2nd one started a ways away in woods. Later moved to a blind as I heard another over that way,he was. 500 yards away on an open green hill he came down to,edge of my field but would not cross, gobbled for an hour. Finally he got a hen to come to him.
  12. Celebrity deer hunter, that's funny really.
  13. Liberty is a good safe. I worked for a gun safe company for ten years many years ago. Few things buy bigger then you think, you'll need. Ok i went from 10 gun to 16 and now 24 ,wish I just got the 24 to start with.oh and you'll never get that number of guns I them . I got maybe 10 or 12 long guns in mine, a gun with a scope takes up 2x the room. I also, like room for binos, watches, handguns, files of paperwork etc. Buy bigger, you'll thank me. Mount it in a corner,to limit access with pry bars, bolt it down as well. Keep,it,out of view of casual visitors, workmen and so on. Factory ratings mean nothing, look for U.L. Labels. A cheaper safe well hidden that no one knows about may well protect you more then a more expensive one people know about and bring the tools needed to,force entry.
  14. 3 toms gobbling today in 3 differant woods. First for an hour straight ,but across a giant field in the next woods,I could not call him over. I then moved through my woods had one gobbling in rear of woods set up called, he came in silent saw his head/ neck peeking over a blow down, looking straight at me,head went down never saw him again. Did see 15 deer though oh and one trespasser . Let him cross over set Up his decoys, hide in the woods. I then walked over and we had a chat.....and since it's Mothers Day I made sure and use the word Mother a number of times. Stop at a friends house on way home heard another gobbler in woods behind his house.
  15. Sure you can. Site alignment ,breath control, trigger squeeze same as shooting anything really. But I have no plans to, however you need to show people you'er serious. They know full well what they er doing its well posted. That's a pretty in your face action on their part, I respond in kind. Add in they set up right along one of our sanctuary so they'll see deer coming in and out,and get ideas for deer season . The only way some people learn is to make it a bigger risk then the deer/ turkey is worth. We put in a lot of time and money into the land,I just spent a few hundred on new posted signs and that's not counting all the plywood and posts I have yet to buy. Building brides across ditches and creeks, tower blinds, bulldozing trails, mowing just a few things we do for hunting the spot. We don't allow walking around, drives and so forth, limit the size of bucks one can shoot and on and on and on. So ya when people think they can just waltz on over and do as they please ,well I can't allow that.
  16. Plug was in ,boat was left in lake for days....... Very low transom, pulled it up on Beach that night ,bow in . This lake has a sharp drop off just off shore,so boat was kind of on a pivot point I guess. My best guess? Even though very calm lake some waves must have over took the low transom, enough water got in to tip boat down on that pivot ,so it went even lower. The rope I tied it off with was super right, the only thing keeping it from sliding into Davy Jones locker. No services of any kind on that lake ,not even a real ramp. I thought I may have to pull it out deeper with the jet skis and dump a mag full of 40 cal, through the hull. I'll,tell you it's now a great camp fire story, and my buddy helping me loves to tell it! A bass swimming in boat, me banging on everyone's rooms, the boat sunk ,the boat sunk! Me biting a swimming noodle so it would fit to plug the well holes where the gas lines and steering linkage runs so the water would stop coming in and we could bail. Oh it's funny now......
  17. It even sunk once, notice engine all the way under the water line. I was back skiing behind it a few days later. Took cover off let it sit in sun. Had spark ,compression and gas, time to ski again ! Total cost to get it running zero .
  18. Boats don't have to cost much. This is my '64 Starcraft, been in my family since early '70s. It has a Johnson on it that I bought in 84 . 3 generations of my family have skied and fished every year out of this boat.last year I had to put a few hundred into to engine, other then that,a battery every now and then and a set of plugs every 5 years or so. I doubt I averaged 50 bucks a year in maintenance over the last 20 years. Now the more crap you put on the boat/ motor your cost goes way up. My bilge pump is a coffee can that doubles as my head as well....
  19. I worked out of a firehouse in the ghetto for 14 years,(now i work in nice area) . One summer we had 4 people shot to death within 100 yards of the firehouse ,most nights you'd hear gunfire. I lived 8/10s of a mile from work. Many nights I'd hear gunfire at home, including one night when it was in my front yard......maybe 30 feet from my kids rooms. Bunch of good old boys shooting in the sticks, sorry I'm not too concerned . I shoot 2x a month or so on my range in Ontario county,8 or so houses from 600 feet to maybe 1000 .3 of us shoot a couple hundred rounds. Nobody seems to mind. I guess it's because well they like to hike, bike, snowmobile and other wise use our land, some I even let hunt a part i don't hunt. But mostly it's because they seem worried we're going to develop the land. So they have a choice a range we use a couple times a month or a housing tract. With land prices climbing all around ,I think they ll have a bunch of new neighbors in a few years.....
  20. You have got good advice. What I do is go take pictures of all trucks parked around my spot, with plate # that way when you see them run off and get in a white f150 you already got the plate # . For 25 years I had little issues at all, last year in deer season guys parked at the property line, walked off the road then cut in to,ours once I knew what was going on I made sure I got their plate for next time. Your guys DEC officers sure are differant then around me. Mine will come and arrest as long as I will press charges, they've none night opps, robo deer and more simply because I told them about the issues. This turkey season I'll be hunting turkey hunters. They come in the same way and set up on my side, and I got plenty of posted signs up. I have a friend and his son Hunting my spot he saw them 2xs now. Next week end I'm walking out of the brush knocking over their decoys and stapling some posted signs to them, calling DEC first so they ll be at the road,it's a good 20 minute walk out so it's not like they can make a fast get away. And no I won't be alone, but they'll stay back about 100 yards with a nice rest......
  21. Don't turkey hunt much. Took a buddy to show him my spot as I'm letting him hunt there this year. We got there around 9 00 today ,no guns or calls just a walk. We saw 5 long beards by 9 30! One with a hen in the field we walk in. Walked through woods, saw 4 nice ones altogether in the field the other side of the woods. Plus one fox and 4 deer. Oh and a hen on the way out. Needless to say he's pumped to come back and hunt .nobody else hunts my spot and there are giant plowed fields separating it from anyone nearby . He's one of those in the woods before dawn guys, I told him that's nice I get in sometime between 8 and 9 , seems to work around here.i may even go,out next week .
