Good luck to everyone. I m going down to show a friend the land. He needed a spot closer to home to take his kid out this year. I might turkey hunt 1 to 4 times a year, sometimes none. Not my thing. Heck I did not want to get up at 7 00am this morning !

Defending his rights or avoiding taxes?
Nomad replied to Elmo's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
I'm pleased with the way it turned out for now anyway,it's not over. Bottom line though he lost in court over and over. But he stood his ground so,to speak, was willing to risk it all I seems. Most upset about the First Amendment zones and well the 100s of fed.agents sent to guard the contract cowboys.a fixed position like this is easier for the Feds. To make a stand though. Boston bombings and Donner in Calf. Was telling ,took thousands of cops to catch one cubby ex cop and a couple of basically kids with a kitchen pot and one handgun. Something to take note of.mobile vs fixed position. -
Finally doing it.....moving to Rochester area
Nomad replied to New York Hillbilly's topic in General Chit Chat
There's good deer hunting in Wayne county! Hunting partner owns 60 acres in Palmira ,which is near your new home. Good luck! And welcome. -
Nice job on that find! I've taken to wearing safety glasses in the thick stuff, after having lasic last year and not wearing glasses any more I've noticed i take a few sticks to the eyes, and protecting them has been more in my mind.

DON'T COMPLY! YOU'LL HAVE PLENTY OF COMPANY.
Nomad replied to Mr VJP's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Doc, right now,not registering your assault rifle is a misdemeanor not a felony ,keeping your'pre 94 standard capacity magazine is a misdemeanor as well. I'd also bet if by some fluke a other wise law abiding joe citizen got caught with them,it would be reduced . If not well my two lawyers don't charge me, and in fact they did not comply as well, perhaps we ll be co defendants ! I'll bring it up with them over Easter dinner. -

Pity. With thinking like that we'd still have slavery and women could not vote.....if the abolitionism and women's suffrage movements did not have those willing to stand up to bad laws. -
That's its, I'm putting manikins wearing orange coats ,with pockets full off deer feed out all summer right up to,hunting season. A feeder a shaped and dressed like a hunter ,where have I seen that before....oh ya my yard.....

When you find out let me know..... Been trying to figure it out myself,we ll see where the kids end up. Sure we've looked at many states ,taxes, weather, health care and so forth all play into it ,but I till you live there for year or two who knows. Frankly for me hunting ranks rather low,I can travel anywhere for a couple weeks a year and whack a few deer . Nephew lives in Tenn. owns a very successful business, rank #8 in Inc. magazine for fastest growing business in US. He does very well in deer season and Bass fishing, taxes are good, weather seems nice and Nashville was in Time mag. For being one of the top cites to live in, job growth ,health care and a variety of things to do. It's not all country music..... Although I like that too.

Not much of a sports fan,I don't ever think I watched any college games on tv....... My youngest daughters boy friend was a full ride D1 athlete, they certainly "own " you year round that's for sure. His brother got a full ride at Norte Dame ,so they make out education wise if they pick a good major and can do well at both. Like all sports youth on up it's not about the "kids" it's about the coaches, the school and in college making money, except the " workers " don't get paid.

Tom King's statements. Thoughts?
Nomad replied to virgil's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Yep and every Sunday the choirs feel pretty good about it ! Rallies keep .the base energized ,holds interest ,keeps groups active ,togather and informed. Get around like minded folks ,exchange thoughts and ideas on other events groups and plans. At the very least Mr King should have kept his thoughts to himself and not in the media. -
Ch 10 in Rochester covered it. The reporter also tweeted about it live from the rally . She also has her ccw....

My observations are this, today's compounds are easy to use with a short learning curve . Every year guys on the job buy a compound, shoot baseball sized groups from the get go, and kill deer their first year .just like i did close to 30 years ago.i started bow hunting because I felt it was an advantage, ands it's proved to be.bows when I kill my deer, guns for fun with friends . Crossbows are heavy ,bulky, and have little advantage over modern compounds other then drawing. With the way my shoulders are heading, In a few years I may have to buy one though. Ohio has had crossbows in bow season well over 30 years now, the success rate of xbows and compounds were about he same last I checked.

Has Anyone Else Had Issues Getting Their Car Inspected?
Nomad replied to 13BVET's topic in General Chit Chat
Well the cars did have the stickers on them..... And they were in good condition, just cut out the BS . Some states don't even have car inspections at all . -
Has Anyone Else Had Issues Getting Their Car Inspected?
Nomad replied to 13BVET's topic in General Chit Chat
I had trouble 35 years ago or so ,they'd find something wrong I go home buy part fix it come back, they'd find something else ,repeat..... So I went 20 some years without ever having a car " inspected" after that. -
Happy Birthday WNYBuckhunter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday! -
It's a Rougarou, I hear they can shift shapes and take on the form of any creature , which is why cougars sightings are rare, they may keep that form for a only short time. I'm planning on seeing a few cougars in a bit at the gym, right now they're changing their shape with yoga pants.....

One group I know takes a bunch like this each year. Pretty informal rules too, just lots of land and keeping pressure light, but what do I know. -
Anyone Camo Dip their own stuff?
Nomad replied to Rev Ev's topic in DIY - Do It Yourself, tutorials and videos
I though about camo dipping my stuff, but the wife has enough trouble find it now...... -
You can make that. Work,I never had a truck, take 1 to 4 deer a year hang a lot of stands do chain saw work ect. My one buddy sold his truck years ago , bought a civic and a small trailer . Atv and deer go on trailer and he more then doubled his mpg year round. Plus it's easier to load deer onto a small trailer by yourself then a 4x4 way up in the air. For me it 70 miles round trip to my spot. I do that 4 to 6 days a week, some times two times a day. Me likey small car......

QDM Meeting with Neighbors
Nomad replied to dbHunterNY's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
I believe you'er right . The farm I hunt gets them, for use on that farm only, based on acreage and damage as far as I know. Between bow gun all the tags I get now using 2 damps would be a stretch for me,two deer for my family and perhaps one or two to give away at most. We use the dmaps first though, the thought being use em or lose em. -
Now if you could just find your commas and periods....... I'd add a winking smilely face but don't know how.
