  1. A little old and new, Grand Canyon early '80's South beach couple years ago. Notice the Chuck Taylor's in both pics.
  2. I believe what you call saving a couple bucks the law calls insurance fraud. When your car is stolen in Brooklyn and they see its "garaged" in east bumble fook, good luck.the police report says you live here but we have you live there....or I guess you could lie on the police report too.oh change your DL too ok now where do you vote? Jury duty? What a tangled web we weave. We all want to save money,we should do it within the law and not post about doing it other ways...... Here's a nice read. The consequences Rate evasion fraud is notoriously difficult to discover because American drivers constantly experience life and insurance changes. Every hour, 25,608 vehicles are registered (including 6,402 new vehicles) and 3,453 Americans move to a new residence, according to the Quality Planning Corp. report. In addition, 52 percent of household auto insurance policies undergo vehicle or driver changes every year. Rather than sink a bunch of resources into rooting out this kind of insurance fraud, some states and insurance companies take a more passive approach in combination with legal penalties. If an insurance consumer lies about a vehicle's parking address, that consumer may simply find his or her insurance policy is essentially worthless when it comes time to file a claim. All states allow insurance fraud to be punished by a fine or jail time, although some states' penalties are stiffer than others. Even honest drivers deal with the consequences of rate evasion fraud. Rate evaders aren't paying their fair share -- and that means higher auto insurance premiums for all Good luck with the camp though.
  3. The coach's sister and his best friend ,her husband bought their building lot off my father in law. My range is right behind the house. The husband was always coming over telling me about," Tom said this, Tom is pissed about this player yada, yawn, sigh . I'm sure some guys would care and like to here the stories,I just wanted to shoot.....
  4. Well I know what's going on ! There has been run on guns and ammo for a couple years now..... They can't make it fast enough to match demand .
  5. Well if its tall and thick ,long tines whatever ,it would be ok they want mature bucks killed. The outside the ears is a general guideline that screens out most younger ones,a starting point I guess. It's like the judge said in a pornography case said, " I can't define it,but I know it when I see it ". Hope I see it in a few hours....(buck)
  6. We own over 100 acres in Canandaigua about all crop, land. The rent the farmer pays us covers the taxes and a little left over. We own it free and clear,if we made monthly payments the leftover money would not cover one month..... We own the land as part of our worth, glad it's there but no way would I put it all in land. For the cost you could fly around the country and hunt the best deer land in the U.S. I spent a week hunting Montana for around $1,500 lic. Flight included . No guide and we camped out.
  7. Ya I switched to hunting the afternoon.shoot my 270 , hang another stand then jump in it ,shoot big buck.
  8. Oh it's going to be a fun tiring few days! Get home at 8 at night then other friends will meet us the beers will be opened ,and the alarm will still go off at 4 30. He'll make fun of my bow with " training wheels" ..... Glad you got to see your buddy.
  9. That's a good question one I ask myself every time I'm on stand .... The farm I hunt has had AR for years, I ws never under them as the piece I hunt is removed from the bluk of the land. Until a few years back I was placed under the AR rules. At first they were if you shoot a buck it has to be one you have mounted, that has relaxed to the old " outside the ears " . How do I pick ,idk but i shot 3 since being placed under the rules.it happens so fast I'm Not always sure if its big enough till I walk up to it on the ground.... I'm try to hold off this year for a true giant, but if I get an easy shot at " outside the ears" that little guy standing on my shoulder ,tends to make me shoot...
  10. My friend since kindergarten ,that's like 49 years comes back for a wedding and bow hunt. He's a traditional archer and a friend of the St. Charles family. He owns Glen St.Charles work bench and hand tools that he used to make bows. For those who don't know who Glen was, he founded the Pope and Young club amoung other noteworthy things. The first P&Y museum was at Glens archery shop,North West Archery, I had the pleasure of visiting it years ago. http://www.gfredasbell.com/gfa_glenn_st_charles.php I have hunted, canoed, backpacked across The U.S and Canada with him from the ADK to the Yukon. This time the adventure is a bow hunt in Canandaigua ! Last time he came back he got an 8pt, but now I'm under the farms AR rules. So this 4 day hunt will be a challenge for a buck. Just hope it stays dry .....
  11. Took the day off visited our two daughters in Buffalo. Took the Beagle for a walk by the house in Webster, smoking a cigar , we walked up upon a nice looked like 2 1/2 buck he just looked and went back to feeding till we got to about 60 yards in an open mowed path..... Back on stand in the AM.
  12. This pic. started making the rounds late August, for some reason all the news outlets all just started showing it . I like to,run into is 1 on 1 opponent !
  13. Plenty of bucks moving in daylight right now. I've watched 7 in the last two times out. 3 bigger then the one in the pic.s. 2 for almost 3 hours wed 8 45 to 10 30 . I'm with the others my GUESS 2.5
  14. 3 doe and 3 bucks in cut beans. Biggest was a 7 pt. about one inch shy of ear tips, maybe 6 inch. G2s thin pointy . Just the ones to pass and hope he makes it. 2 bucks hanging togather ,play sparing. Fun sit.
  15. Capt. Coming in early to relieve me! Hope to be on stand by 4 30 . Big buck that's been in bean field ran into thick stuff as farmer combined it yesterday. He's been bedding, moving, hiding in that bean field. Now hopefully he ll move through woods, I should have the wind for that......
  16. When I first read that I thought poachers, this is much better !
  17. In the past I hunted a spot near a parking lot. Like my stand was maybe 75 yards from it, the building was a lot farther I yes I had permission and shot away from the lot. I gun and bow hunted it. It was a bit of a staging area for the deer. The workers would be yelling to each other slamming doors, starting cars, and burning out from time to time. All the while the deer and at times mature bucks would be all around and not even raise a head! As for stands I hang them where you could in the 400 to 600 yard spot. I had 75 yards and none ran out to it, the tend to want to stay in or run to the cover. Although I understand your concern .
  18. Nice job! ill add you to the list of guys I know who have shot deer with their bow while walking in or out. Maybe one day......
  19. Ya I took most of my, "picks" during hunting , some I could not get . Later another LT. Wants to trade tricks off,he had a week in early Nov he'd trade for my May tick off.... Most time off in a row I ever had.
  20. Lots of buck movement last couple days, saw 2 mature bucks yesterday. Watched them from 7 45 to 10 30 in a bean field. I pretty much only have to work 3 days between oct 18 to Nov. 20 th!
