  1. We had have a program at work ,where we could pull up arial pics click on it and it would show lines and ownership.might have been just available to the Gov. Though idk.that was for the whole county of Monroe. This one is for the city only, not sure if there are other ones for, other areas. http://www.cityofrochester.gov/GIS/ Looks like the county has it too. http://www.monroecounty.gov/gis You can view tax maps in person to get the info, not sure if its on the net .
  2. We did not go on a honeymoon the year we got married , I used up my vacation time canoeing the Yukon river with my canoeing / hunting buddy . Got married Nov. 4th,....... I did not bow hunt yet, started the next year though . Coincidence ? Needless to say ,we celibate it in January now.
  3. A hunter who lives with in a half a mile would be my guess. Everything I buy gets my name scribed on It in a couple places. If nothing else I can prove its mine when I see it on Craigslist, or hanging in a neighboring woods...... Good luck. Oh and each sd card has a pic.like this sometimes aiming at camera. Just my way of saying hi, I'm coming for you.

    Hello

Hi and welcome. Btw I use " Lone Hunter" on many other forums.... Nice choice .
  5. As for ladders I clip on when I'm up. At work I climb much higher ladders while wearing 80 pounds of bulky gear . But if someone wants to be safer I can't fault them .
  6. Papist, nice job! I hit my a stand yesterday at 5 00 . 2 doe at 6 00 to far out. That's 6 so far in two late afternoon sits.not bad for this heat and early start.
  7. Beikirchs in East Roch. Ok $507 .... Now the guy I deal with was not there, they give a discount to certain professions. The guy I used did not know me and I did not mention it until to late, so that should be the price . He did toss in a gift card after though...... My first center fire rifle , I got some distance work to do and keep the distance realistic . Oh mod.111. With accue trigger. Oh and left handed sometimes that's more, not sure on this gun though.
  8. Every stand I own gets hung on a tree in my yard pre season,I get on it kinda bounce a bit. Check straps, cables and so on. My climber gets set up and I climb up it as well. That said my Lone Wolf is an easy pack in and set up. Speaking of pre season checks I also hang from my harness just a few feet up. You have to test your equipment. You might be surprised how much your harness rides up when hanging from it,how much it may hurt in your groin area, how it restricts your arm movement and so on.oh and if you don't double the weave on the leg buckles you just might find that when hanging they come undone and you fall out......
  9. I'm a knife guy, production, customs, mid tecs . To me a knife is more then just a tool , my favorite folder gutted my first buck, canoed the Yukon river on my belt, hiked the canyons of Arizona with me and plenty more. It's probably the only thing I own that went on so many adventures . Want a knife that works well, will be past down to future generations or just admired by them as the knife Dad/ Grampa carried on all his hunts ? I would recommend a Bob Dozier. Made to your order, good for a few generations, and although more then the Wallmart crowd would pay a good deal for what your getting.hand made by an American knife legend . http://www.dozierknives.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=85
  10. I just got the savage Nikon package $500 . I like it! My last 3 shooting it today 100 yards off a rest. Oh .270
  11. This afternoon sit. 4 deer ,1 unknown 3 doe, boatload of turkey,1 raccoon. Thought for sure the fat doe was going in freezer, got Hinckey hung up to far.
  12. What's Hoyt's cheaper brand I forget but I shoot that.not sure of poundage or draw length . Carbon express with Stingers.
  13. Tomorrow morning hitting stand at 9 00, does going by that stand between 10 00 11 30 . Might go wed pm. Got 4 weeks off in bow this year, so not in a hurry, bring on the rut !
  14. I'm hitting my stand at 9 00 . Does on camera passing that stand most mornings between 10 00 and 11 30 . I'm more excited about nov. then now. Hope to take a couple doe early, let woods settle then hit the rut. Good luck.
  15. Just revisited this thread interesting. My take is new cars are one reason many average earners never accumulate any real wealth. I have never had a car loan, I'm 54 I own 4 cars wife drives and 03 with 57k ,I drive a 04 that just turned 50k, my youngest drives a 02 civic with 80k and my oldest a 04 with 60k. I did by one new car a Mazda MVP back in 91 , would never buy new again. I bought them for between 5k civic , and I think 8k for the oldest 04 but we got that years ago for the wife. To me a car is point A to B and not much else . It just kills me when buddies say they don't have money to send their kids to college but they drive a 50k truck around the suburbs! Ah ya do its sitting in the driveway.....
  16. I have no idea what pattern mine our, often the top and bottoms don't match lol. I had Asat years and years ago still have the insulated bibs. I will say that stuff was the only camo I used in 25years that I truly feel made a differance . I'd wish they'd use modern fabric and offer more choices . I'm heading to their site right now, might be time to buy it again. Hum looks like they added just what I want...break out the cc.
  17. I did. Once upon a time we did not have have many options for climbing into stands, climbing blocks was one. You cut 2x4 s into 5 inch pieces, drilled a hole through the 2 inch side, passed a small rope through the hole 2xs. Next you tied a loop in one end near the block. To climb you placed flat side of block on tree passed running end of rope around tree and through loop, next pull back around tight and wrap running end around block.thats it tie 3 or 4 from ground then you had to climb up and attach as you go,all without harness or rope of course .nothing like the thrill of standing on the end of one 2x4 up in the air as you use both hands to wrap another.... Old school is seldom as good. We'd paint them dark and I'd drag the rope through mud to darken it up.
  18. That's nothing I killed an alligator dressed as a mariachi ......heres the mount .
  19. I prefer the mornings myself, it's a nice way to start the day. Oh your talking about hunting......
  20. A guy I work with has a bump stock on his AK 47 ,he has fun with it. To him firing one at a time looking at the target and repeating would be a boring waste of time and ammo..... Oh sorry all his guns like that were lost in a boating accident right after the safe act passed.
  21. Btw the story of his blue plastic cups he always has is that his Mom sent him the cups and tea when he was in 'Nam .
  22. I believe that if one says" I hate white rabbits" the smoke stops blowing on you.
