VIDEO: Best Bow Shots On Video! Part III
Carbonelement replied to TheFieldArcher's topic in Bow Hunting
great shots and nice video! -
have no gun season and make it bow only and you will see the numbers rise! What Illinois does it great but they only have a 3 day season for the first then 3 day that butts up to a 4 day ML so 10 days of hunting. And no rifle what is great NY should do the same! Not that its that much different almost anyone can shoot 150 yds with a 12 gauge...if u cant you prob shouldnt be in the woods anyway. And one buck per year no matter what weapon used would be great! and the places with "too many deer" should be 100% earn a buck. Shoot a doe first before u get the buck tag.

if u want to buy a house make sure u have a plow guy lined up! I have no sympathy for people anymore i have many accounts that I plow and i refuse to take on new customers during the winter. Being a landscaper i will only plow the people I work for during the season. I dont care how old or young anymore. If your old enough to buy a house, you are old enough to realize you need someone to plow it. And if you are elderly and can no longer take care of your own place...you have lived long enough to gather the intelligence to have a plan and a back up plan and and a back up plan after that. I only NEED 1 truck to do my route we generally send out 2 and have another 2 ready to go at all times. Thats a plan with a backup and another backup and one more after that. If i can plan ahead why cant these people!

Doewhacker i did shoot them in different states and im going to shoot some more in ct if i see something worth shooting. Im not into shooting dinks and if i see a nice buck he is getting dropped. I dont make the rules i just follow them. I will most likely shoot 4 or 5 doe and one or two bucks before the season ends cuz i tend to have more time and hunt a lot more later in the season. By having a bunch of properties to hunt i can take a doe from each area and wait for a good buck. Thats what i am going to do. Amd i may even get another buck tag and be able to take 3.

hunt the thickest nasty part of the property that is near a food source!

you cant shoot all the doe and think you are going to see deer...i hunt in westchester and CT where they SAY the deer pops are out of control! i did ok this season shooting 2 mature bucks and a couple doe. I have a lot of properties to hunt, some as big as 150 acres and some tiny 4-5 acre spots. I just scout the doe and hunt where I am seeing them, and dont shoot them unless they are all over like squirrels. People shoot too many deer and wonder why they dont see anything. Think abt it if u only had a couple months a year to breed where would you (not the ladies sry grow and others) hang out...a bar full of young men or where there are lots of fine ladies to chase around. Things were very different this year as well. First year we have had a great acorn crop in a while. They are completely different than they have been the past 2or 3 years and hunters have to change up. The best hunters I know spend as much time scouting and moving stands as they do sitting there with their bow or gun. You cant just hang a stand and think its going to be the golden spot for the whole year. The deer change their patterns as the season progresses and you as a hunter have to change your tactics as well. It was still a good year but i think the numbers are WAY down i hope they go to one buck a year no matter what weapon and put an AR in place nothing crazy but just to let 1.5 year olds go another year.

while i agree it does suck that the ppl came and busted up your hunt, it happens i would NEVER hunt state land and do a lot to make sure i have private land to hunt and even then in wonderful New York I have trespassers from time to time. If i were you id find private land that is your to hunt without anyone else, and make sure this does not happen to you again.

124... Bad pic. Get a front shot and dead side shot beams are a lot to do with the score and its hard to tell but they look short like they dont go passed his nose and the spread looks weak in this pic. Measure it out and letbus know!

id put my stand up the trail he walks and 25-30 off in some cover...maybe make a move with with climber and deflate his lungs!
