In Avon our basements in the entire neighborhood would flood..fire dept. Was out several Tim's a year..even in "dry" Times if the pump failed we would start filling up...we had 2 sump pumps set up...When we renovated concrete pads were built to raise every appliance..washer/ dry, freezers,furnace, hot water, and safe. We have no issues here but everything is still on blocks.

So that went as I expected....just with a tad bigger circus tent surrounding it, than originally thought..

Now I loved the Bushnell I won from here and dang if it's not still working...so I got this one...an It takes great warm weather pics...but most of the hunting season and all winter we have blowing snow. The snow comes in from ALL directions...I even put it under a shorter tower blind...I can't leave it for days, because if it fills day one...well you can guess the rest. I called them and this is what I was told...in so many words,TOUGH and he hung up...

You can seriously mess up your hunting grounds by taking out the wrong older doe...She is the teacher...and if she taught them to follow her on a regular route through and around your place...taking her out can take out the others as well ,as it were...for the next lead doe usually will have other travel routes...Ever notice two mature doe standing on their hind legs fighting...it's territory...I always strive to shoot a BIG doe...but not all big doe are matriarchs. You have to observe them and how they are grouped...

Advise....... if you didn't see a previous post some time ago...card board box's and southern packages...open them out side away from house..Mr B ordered rocky boots...opened the box and inside was a tiny dead cockroach...got out the good light out side...nymphs in it as well...They LOVE corrugated cardboard...lay eggs and live in the grooves but just like with wall paper glue...love the processed used to form the layers...Believe me I know...Worked in a pet shop that got infested...they had one in the old down town Rochester where they had all those stores and the train for kids...anyways they transfer stuff from there to the country store...an entire little shopping plaza became infested...A grocery store and a carpet place...the carpet place was the worst...They lost a lot of product and had to move locations... They tore out a wall in the Rochester store and there was an old cistern or open sewer behind it...I'm positive many people took cockroaches and or eggs home with them..I use to get undressed in our garage and bag everything before going to house and dumping in a running washer....GROSS

Never mind that...ask if they shed...lol...I love terriers but I have to have a dog that I can train without having shock collars to not leave my side unless allowed......I've never found one I could take to the woods and not have their natural scenting instinct take over... going to ground...They are a great animal to watch work...

So I was a nice....beoutch about it..first I must have had that look on my face..for I walk through the door and clerks immediately asked if they could help and called 3 x' s fast for a manager. I saw him coming and Iwalked to him wavering him back discretely. I was saying you don't want us in earshot of anyone.. His face fell and he said Oh...I then in a low but tad menacing voice explain that I had calmed myself down before coming in and this is why.........His first words were, " I can't control the manufacturers..." I cut him off right there and out came the wagging index and tight voice..Stop right there! I have a great digital Canon and took many pictures. I worked many years in retail. Before you say one more word know this...What comes out of your mouth determines whether I email corporate and send those nasty pictures. "I'm very sorry" I then said he had best never order this done again and or best tighten up his staff..because they won't enjoy people opening many packages to check products before buying...I have some computer skills and own those pictures...Several more apologies and he personally reimbursed me with a thank you. I won't even tell you the crap storm Sears and I had today..but I did not pay shipping...

So a few weeks ago I was so proud I'd gotten a couple of gifts ahead of time...I left Mr B.'s in the trunk...I didn't open and undo the packaging at the store. and It looked new...I just pulled it out...a hair clipping set for the back of his neck ,between hair cuts and his mustache. I did open it and the cord wasn't wrapped right.. SOB...It had someone elses hair and skin in it! So I just got that of my chest ...and will be leaving hear soon to not speak with the clerk OH NOOO I will be speaking with the manager...The guy that directed me to this in the first place.... They are getting good at restocking...open and check...

Are you kidding...I just got in and I may have eye damage...didn't wear my goggles and really should have. I feel like I have welder burn in both....my tracks were blown in before I made it back up hill and there were only 3 fresh tracks...one I cut that must have been a single bedded deer just below the ridge..they saw me, but I didn't see them...on a full run away from where I came in...Scary stuff walking up through those woods, creaking,popping and snapping...OH MY!

That is a poke in the eye for sure...I hope she finds a better job after the holidays or finds something she wants to do. What is even more distressing is...A French company bought....We have not only pushed our US companies abroad...but now we have other countries companies buying up more and more of our in home real estate and companies....How much of the US that we are paying taxes for and training troops in ...do we REALLY own anymore...I mean lets be honest those troops that we train...are usually defending some other countries population and for what? Corporations?

We normally do a pasta dish and I make venison meat balls...So what happens every year we all sit around in the kitchen talking and joking eating all the goodies..Did I mention the shrimp...and then we play Yahtzee or shut the box..Oh can't forget the Christmas movies, Christmas vacation is a must..Having bowls of the french onion soup( wish is a specialty of mine), Then are too full to eat...lol This year it's less goodies...then a sit down meal, open gifts and dessert. The kids have their designated drivers set...and I don't have to worry....Dinner has to have a good wine...and the boys need their JD or Jameson toast.. Our tradition is everyone gets to be at their own homes on Christmas day for their own personal traditions...So Mr B and I have a quiet day going over gifts ,chatting and enjoying Christmas music...I usually make a quiche and sausage and fresh fruit, unless we are still full from the night before.We all open spouse gifts at our own homes.

We don't go over board 25-30 dollar gift certificates to Wegmans They get fruit and veggies during season and I buy a bag of tiny dog biscuits for him to hand out... ...I figure they either will be entertaining...or needing lunch or dinner once in a while during working......When I can count on packages not being damaged or hanging off the mail box for drive by snatches...It's worth every penny...plus I make sure the turn around and at least the end of drive,from town plow, is clear and I clear 25 feet before mail box and 15 ft past it...this allows the driver to pull up close and drive away with out spinning or catching the macadam lip with the tires too bad. I watched the FedX kid open the back door to boxes tumbling out the back and then closing the door on the edge of a big flat screen...I heard the crunch and the box was crushed at the corner.....nothing stacked safely just tossed in. I do not know how he found ours...but did and then handed this oversized box to me that was pretty heavy ..lol..One just walked a box half way down the drive and left it there in the middle...Glad we got home before dark and didn't back down the drive...I have left instructions for packages to be left at a specific door(avoids the weather) they just can't do it..I've gotten home to soaked packages...no tips will they see... We have no choice on whether FedX delivers some stuff...it's other companies decisions. We get stuff from companies and it's always very nice this time of year and appreciated...5#'s of great cheddar came home last night. a yearly treat...bottles of goodies and what not.

Last night roast pork loin,cooked cabbage,beets,long grain and wild rice.

Doc..our daughter is an exceptional cook...her deserts are to die for. Really so rich and delicious your arteries would soon close if eaten often...lol

OMG...My UPS guy just delivered 2 packages...8:49pm...Poor guy...he's usually here by 4..It's going to be a rough holiday for him...
