  1. you may want to read this and note they mention glasses..bifocals http://www.fieldandstream.com/blogs/whitetail-365/2013/06/does-single-small-sight-pin-improve-bow-accuracy
  2. My eye doctor toldme not to wear them hunting.
  3. I have to admit I've done so many things picking the one was hard. Two miles of clear trails, plots, brushpile fencing, the blinds, planting trees and shrubs, water tanks, hinge cutting, all the stand locations.
  4. Management of all the Native mast and browse.
  5. Well went to Oak flats plots to cut a few more trees...It's looking rather thin... hhhmmmm... Pulled card and now I know why...Who needs green...Actually the acorns are dropping big time down there and you can tell which trees the turkeys like best...the leaf litter around them is tore up! I cut several trees that should have gone years ago... and used a rope and the gator winch to lay them down just where I wanted them ..except one...it was filled with grape vines and had an odd top...got all but a 1/2 in cut and went to winch it ...snapped the rope...She stands straight as an arrow sitting on just one half in of wood...hope the winds tonight put her right...I'll check tomorrow, always one PITA...lol
  6. Some annual reds will pop fast...but not usually whites in my experience...It's why I mix reds and white together faster growth offsets the slower establishing whitesand acts as a nurse crop.
  7. OK makes my stand issue look pretty tame...that really stinks!,sorry..
  8. Rather the guy close enough to see me ...than the guy farther away shooting at me..
  9. I really don't much care when the rut is...I only want to know when the bucks start moving into our place and laying up in the swamps. That is where a record of trail cam pics comes into play. Also a record of dates when fights start happening. The only way to get that is to be out there. .
  10. It's a cursed team...period
  11. I made spears put them and sliced onion, pepper, garlic in aluminium packet with a sprinkling of water and baked with roast. Now normally I drizzle with avacado pablamo dressing before sealing and bake or grill.
  12. Take pics and call the DEC..simple..they will tell you to move on thougb I'm sure...unless they can catch the guy and get him to clean it up.
  13. Garlic stuffed pork loin baked, summer squash, onion, bannana peppers and garlic baked, first sweet corn from the garden, mashed potatoes and sliced tomato and cukes from the garden...I'm stuffed!.
  14. THAT IS QUITE ENOUGH! I'm No longer able to allow such excuses to pass my eyes unchallenged. NO electronics, mommy, daddy, mean brother nor sister made these people do the thing they have or will in the future. IT IS SOLELY on their heads . The school bully nor bad teacher or coach forced their decisions. The Devil nor God played a hand in their actions. We are all born with a brain, we all start out with free will. WE make our choices no one else. We are all exposed to good and evil deads. We choose what side we fall to. Blame or acculades fall at only our own feet,no one elses.
  15. Mindless thugs..what is the worst of this...these actions are ones that show a perpensity to the same mindless human terroism they say they are condeming. In other words I have no doubt that they are obe level below the type that would bomb an abortion clinic, killing people to show how much the "killing " should end and is wrong. They are just looking for an excuse for their true natures to come to the surface.
  16. good on little ones surviving their first few months of life...both sets of the twins are still with us and this is just one group of poults...with the crazy amount of raccoon and fox...I am pleased...Just had to shave that plot, grasses have taken over...it goes in buckwheat next spring. then a bean with a over seed of WR late summer...spring the following year may see Alfalfa...we will see..hoping these cool temps has the clover popping before that grass again...The new plot at the end of this upper right...is growing like mad so they will still have lots of great food.
  17. And go over them carefully... I just got through nagging Mr B..those guys do not use harnesses...dummkopfs! I have never had so many with "issues" ..one ladder that is older and has no section pins...the seat section separated from the ladder section...so I will need a couple of new straps for that... one to ratchet those sections together. another all nails sheared off...but I had a back up of under bracing and straps, another a rung froze and split (bottom rungL another seat board nails sheered......so I have some work to do...but you guys check those bolts, welds and in some cases nails carefully It never hurts to have 1-2 back up safety measures in place...Ratchets are 8 for 20.00 10 ft length at tractor supply ..500lb working load....better yet chains
  18. I wasn't directing that at you, notice time stamp...we posted about the same time
  19. Man it lightens my heart to see some here actually read... let me clarify that...from more than one or two sources..
  20. I'll trade you corn for tomatoes...blight took out all 48 plants just as they got loaded and big...every tomato rotting...Then a viruse took out the cukes...pumpkins and winter squash are holding their own as well as lots of summer squash...great broccoli and cauliflower. Wonderful greens...see all fall crops did fantastic this summer...beets and carrots wonderful and a few great pepper . This with the exception of the hot peppers they stalled completely...6 whole peppers out of 9 plants Eggplant just got flowers...temps went into the 40's at night...flowers fell off...Oh the deer ate most of my beans.
  21. Ya that was 1/2... They are browsing a little in the stuff I planted early...but they are doing what I wanted...today while checking the legumes and turnips in them bam! beds scattered all over It's just high enough now to cover them to their shoulders so they can look around...I found this in the old hay field which is now corn. The farmer would do just one late summer cutting and by late Sept the field would be back up a foot or more. I can not tell you the number of time we pulled into the drive at night and that field would be filled with deer and a sea of racks..We'd back up and count 15 20 BUCK racks and they were big...OMG I miss the hay field I truly do...I got so many great pictures out of that field as they walked and fed through it year round. PS So happy with rye...jury is out on the wheat ...
