I have 1 still up on the back of my sisters property, haven't been out their since early January. Its a Moultrie. I will probably get the snowshoes out and take walk back there this weekend. The temp is supposed be up in the twenties finally.
I heard on the news at 5p.m. there is activist from Long Island has filed suit to put stop to the annual Squirrel Slam in Holley that is held annually to help raise funds for the vol. fire dept. The story can be found at www.thedailynewsonline.com Orleans County Judge Punch will view the case this Thurs
I saw 4 this morning while driving in in Tonawanda this morning. They were walking on the frozen ice of the Erie Canal, eating from the branches and shrubs that grow along the bank of the canal. They appeared in good shape
It was -10 this morning and now it is 2 degrees. Going to be a heat wave tomorrow about 18 for the high. Not going to last as subzero temps and wind chills return on Thurs. Really getting tired of it.
Just came in from shoveling the driveway and running out of places to put snow. It has really added up the past week. Going to have a nice hot bowl of apple-cinnamon oatmeal now and just relax rest of the day.
Have to be extra careful when pulling out of driveway or pulling out from sidestreets, the snow piles obstructing view of traffic. Haven't had this much snow piled up in long time. At least the sun is out today.
I was 16 at the time then, and school was cancelled for 2 weeks. I remember walking up onto I-290 near my house with some friends and the drifts literally covered abandoned tractor trailers and cars. It was something you would never forget how big the snow drifts were. Made a lot of money helping shovel out doorways at homes in neighborhood or cars that were buried. That blizzard was the worst ever.
I get a laugh from the different ways the weather people describe the snow in their broadcasts......"crippling, pounded, devastating, unrelenting, blinding etc. etc. etc." Helps to spread the paranoia.
