  1. Three's a crowd? I'd hate to be a third wheel...... Table for three? Buy two, get one free? Subtle hints never work...................................
  2. Too much wood in bugsNbows choices......... It's hard for me to pick one so I rotate also. Yesterday I had some time on my last "vacation" day and hit the range with the 223ai and 260 Remington. When I got back I did a quick inventory of my loaded ammo for all the guns and came up pretty thin for the 260 (yea, shot too much during that range session) and 7mm-08. I have plenty for the 300WSM and only 20 rounds for the 243 but heck, I'll only need on shot per deer so I should be GTG. OH, wanna see a picture of said 243? OK................... That buck was a prize winner in a side bet/big buck contest among some fellow forum members here. I think they were pizzed I pulled that buck out of my nether region late in the season and stole the pot. Maybe we can do it again this year since we took a year off last year?? So I guess it'll be that gun; my NULA .243 with Leupold 2.5x8 VXIII shooting 80gr Barnes TTSX bullets.
  3. We got just a tick over an inch at the airport this morning. WOOT!
  4. Looking at the current radar, I think the "Farm" is in line for another hit.
  5. Note date on photo. I think she was just using that pic to show us the area she's referencing.
  6. Look into a canoe or boat/motor rental. I bet you'll have a blast and it should open the door to better fishing. I have never fished the area. Heck, I don't think I've been down that way in 40 years! The gorge at Watkins Glen would be a wonderful day trip for you and your daughter.
  7. Yup, we've had a good rain so far this morning. Glad I didn't wash my truck last night................
  8. Last night while heading home from Waterport, I spotted a flock with two hens and about 14 poults! The bad thing is those poults weren't any bigger than a young chicken. Their future could be sketchy...........
  9. Please remind me (US) when this is happening. I saw it a number of years ago and it was amazing! Seems it was late October............??
  10. Are the new shafts already cut to length?
  11. My BIL just did his axle seal on (IIRC) the same year Titan. I know he had some trouble getting it out but it did come. I'll query him tomorrow............... Yours is a 4x4, yes?
  12. I haven't been paying close attention Paula, how's the training going? The conditioning has to be pretty strong. How about the nose? Moving many bunnies? Broken from deer?
  13. I look at me email in box and I'm reminded of Arnold Swarzenegger in that commercial where his phone is blowing up. Holy Kielbasa.........a guy starts a thread and BAM! I couldn't believe what I saw when I opened my email towards the end of the day yesterday in the thread I started about "change". We'll muddle through WCJ............
  14. The size difference between EL's and Ultravids is seen here..... Not sure yet what will be my favorite yet.
  15. I'd love to see one from the stand too. Seen a bunch while hunting in PA but for one law or another i couldn't shoot one. Killed one in Canada 20 years ago on a hunt. We had a good time.......
  16. Ha! When I started this thread I was on my phone. When I logged on with the laptop I had to get a new password as mine was lost in a cluttered brain......... The site looks better on this machine. I'm sure the moderators can tweak things as we go, it'll just take a little time.
  17. This new forum look sure is different!! Hey Pygmy, you out there??? I don't see anything I recognize..........
  18. I've had a bunch of different Swarovski, Leica and Leitz binos. Right now I have a 12-13 year old pair of Swarovski 8x32 EL's and a newer pair of Leica 8x32 Ultravids. The EL's I bought new and the Leica's were used but you couldn't tell. PERFECT condition! I've been wanting to try a pair of the Ultravids for a number of years. I'm very happy with them but won't be selling the EL's anytime soon. They are easily more compact than the EL's and I believe a bit lighter. They should be wonderful for archery season. (like the EL's aren't?) 10x binos for out west are fine but useless in my book east of the Mississippi. Frankly, you couldn't give ME a pair of 10x anymore. BTDT....I've had 10x EL's, SLC and even Zeiss Classics but they've all moved down the road to guys with stronger neck muscles........ I also have a pair of Bushnell Elites 8x42 and they aren't too shabby for a truck bino. Bizzy.........You can buy a GREAT spotter for way less than 5 grand. Like binoculars, spotting scope deals are to be had on the web all day long. Heck, the Leupold HD spotter is only 1400 clams. I have a wonderful Zeiss Diascope 15x45 straight body spotter that I bought used for less than a grand. The only HD glass I have is the Bushnell's. I've heard that there IS a perceptible difference between HD and non HD glass. Maybe someday I'll score some on a smoking deal but for now I'm very satisfied with what I have. Tomorrow I'll snap a picture of the two pairs of 8x glass for a comparison. High end glass is a wonderful thing to use and unlike any firearm, they can be used 365 days a year, anywhere & anytime. Well worth the price of admission! You'll never regret it................................
