  1. I think we got 1.36" here this morning, at least that's what the NWS said....... Some more rain an hour ago but I don't think it added up to much. I better check the radar now.
  2. Bad start.......you're just going to hamstring your hunting/shooting using the wrong draw length mods. I don't know what to tell you other than cut your losses now. I believe you've said money is tight? If so, watch for a smoking deal like the one TC dealt last week. THAT was the deal of the year.
  3. Wow, that IS small! Must be a _______of turtles close by?? (fill in the blank with whatever a flock of turtles would be called) Is it (wait for this).........a little snapper??
  4. I'll take door number 1.....................................
  5. Do you have a good taxi dude on retainer????????? I can see that buck in your daughters dorm room now............................................
  6. If you have an active pond, you can slaughter them. Fields can be hit/miss as they can change their mind on a whim as a new field opens up. I saw a small flock today in Pendleton that would be GREAT for tomorrow morning as long as they were there tonight and they didn't find a better option! Much can change in a goose's world in a matter of days. Scouting is paramount and pays off big. You must do your homework.........
  7. Bullets.............. Buy some fresh fruit and enjoy WHILE fresh.
  8. Very nice buck there.........luck to you!
  9. The harnesses I've seen that come free with a stand are worth exactly what you pay for them. Nothing....... Dont start them out with junk that'll just frustrate them, buy them a great harness that they'll use because it ISN'T a POS. By the way, how old are the boys?
  10. I'm outa' likes for the day...........LIKE. The above quote should be the ONLY consideration for the OP's boys.
  11. It keeps the meat darn near perfect if (in my opinion) they are kept in a NON frost free freezer. The defrost cycle does no good to frozen food. People that are avid fisherman (like Dan) freeze their fillets in zip lock bags filled with water too. My old deceased buddy Wally used to use milk cartons for the task. Frozen like that they can last for a couple years and still be outstanding.
  12. OK, back on track.............. What's your go-to squirrel gun? If rimfire, chambered in? Open sights or scope? If shotgun, what gauge and shot size? Camo? Calls? Bucket/chair/log/still hunt? May as well fire up the crowd here.........
  13. You're nuts Dan.............. I have a standing invite from Skillet to hunt some bushy tail with him in Naples. Hopefully I can make it down.
  14. Starting last night and continuing tonight, A couple times now I'd hit the "submit" button and it'd say "saving post" or something to that effect and then it would go back to the "reply" button. I tried it three or four times and got no love. I did a "copy" of what I wanted to post then opened a new window and submitted it all over again. Troubling but so is being over weight.
  15. Tough question Bizzy. Kind of like asking "what's your favorite day; Christmas or your Birthday?" The one on the right scored 140 6/8" (or close) and the other 123 2/8" (or close) ...........10 point versus 13 point. To be honest, the 13 point went 204 lbs (or close) and the 10 point was in the 160 lb range (or close) so no doubt the heavier one would be my pick. Call me crazy but the age and the weight are pretty cool to me..................
  16. Looking great TC! Labor Day BBQ I'm guessing???????
  17. Not many 4.5 year old bucks seem to get killed. Purty rare..........
  18. No, Erie County for the bow buck on the left and Ontario County for the ML'er buck on right.......
  19. The fire place isn't in use and hasn't been for close to 20 years unfortunately. We used to have fires and I loved them but we had to do some expensive work on the exterior brick and cap, rebuilding it from about halfway up. After the work, I decided to nix the fires. The inside isn't in great shape and after 30 years cleaning up AFTER house fires, I'll do without a working fireplace.
  20. I have a couple videos of this pup. Here's a neat still I got off my computer by stopping the play and snapping a pic with my phony phone.........
  21. Got my archery buck from 2015 back today, it's my first wall pedestal mount. Sometimes I get a form of "buyers remorse" when I finally get something I've anticipated so much. It'll take some getting used to, maybe by morning?? Not easy to get hung on the wall alone but I think they look good together, the one on the right is from 2010 and I killed him with the ML'er. Both made the NYSBBC.......... 13 points and a fair amount of mass but lacking tine length.
