I knew I had a picture somewhere.......this would have been about 1987 IIRC. It isn't much of a shot of the 'wheeler but you can see it. As far as the pickerel and pistol, the statue of limitations HAS to have come and gone. Don't even ask............

Maybe they'd have to take the deer to the local State Farm drive up claims center. WTH, might as well get them involved, they're the ones pushing this eradication.

I have a Mike Roman call that sings pretty good too. He was a local call maker from North Tonawanda but has been dead for maybe 20 years now. He was a pretty neat old guy....RIP Mike.

IIRC 15 years ago (+/-) I talked to a guy that told me to take my old Lynch box call and pull apart, then soak it in water for a couple days. I had been complaining that I didn't like the tone of it. He said that after a couple days to pull it from the river, let it dry for a couple weeks, screw it back together and chalk 'er up. I didn't work. It still sounds like azz.......... Anybody have any ideas? (I know I could Google it but this is more fun) TIA.

I remember a day many years ago at my buddy Tom's.......I was deer hunting late season in a BLIZZARD and was completely covered in snow. All of a sudden I hear gobbling, not once or twice but hammering for probably ten minutes. Go figure!

I never found much difference in the gobbling activity in different temperatures. I was talking to a fellow a week ago that loves the last week of the season when it's hot and buggy. Yea, BUGGY!! he has killed many more spring gobblers than I have for what it's worth.

I ain't afraid of a link! I'm passing time at my FIL joint in Waterport and that video is much more entertaining........ I'd say the buck closest to the camera won't get much wider, just some more mass and tine length. BUT, I'm viewing from my iPhone and reserve the chance to revise my guess later today.

I think I should have left a smiley face after the "front desk wake up call" comment, I was only joshing on that. I just hate when the alarm goes off on my phone........!! I don't need to get a motel in Ontario or Livingston County, for now.

Oh, my uncle had a place in Naples too but he sold it two years ago. That was a nice 22 year run we had!
