  1. I totally agree with this. But this is an Internet forum. So let's be honest, we bs and debate stuff here. If you didn't want to "be judged" you should keep your business private. If you publicize your stuff on the net, don't get butt hurt when someone calls you out.
  2. Maybe. But don't we all cry foul and throw a fit when someone posts a pic of a deer they found dead? How is this any different?
  3. Lol stupid autocorrect haha. I meant shot haha
  4. I've never lost a deer bubba. But I have tracked 2 separate deer for multiple hours. Both after I lost blood. Thankful to recover both. And one onto a neighbors property which we had recovery but not hunting rights. It was my first ever bow kill and I caught the liver but hit mostly guys.
  5. In saying work it out ahead of time, and maybe consider not placing your stands so close to the lines. Understanding the owners views I would consider a shot near the border a risky one. How is it any different than taking a shit in the rain, running deer or low light? If you might not be able to recover the deer for any reason, the shit is risky. Maybe you need to build up the trust if he's hard to reach or not trusting of you . Donate some venison or do some chores. Call me what you want but I have no patience for preventable situations like this. A bad shot or wounded deer does happen to the best if us. But some situations are preventable and that's all I have to say
  6. Except for the deer who gave his life for nothing
  7. I would like to thank all the vets for their service and the extra bonus of a day off and me in the stand.
  8. Have some friends that do and it turns out great

Is that some kind of religious thing?
  10. I like that states do it differently. Allows us to learn from different managemt approaches. And if we really wanted to, we could move to the state that we thought was doing it right. All things considered regulations are not the biggest reason states have better or worse deer populations.
  11. I think the tags still on your hat Nice buck dude!
  12. Couple limbs down here. Not as bad as I feared
  13. My lab and retriever will chase jumped deer while scouting in the off season. Once they caught a 3 legged buck. They were surprised and had no idea what to do when they caught it haha. Doc, I think there's a difference between wild deer and yote and domestic pet. I don't appreciate what some pets can do, but they are also animals. My golden is well trained and won't leave the yard to chase anything, but If for some reason he did get loose I sure hope some ass wouldn't him. I'm sure my one neighbor is thankful I didn't shoot his pit last weekend at 8am while it took a dump in my scrape. Or my other neighbors for not shooting either of their cats. It's just deer hunting, we can get angry, but there's a line.
  14. Another beautiful morning. Some action early. Seems the rut is always feast or famine depending on where the hot does are.
  15. If you know you might lose a deer because of your neighbor situation; than why are you hunting it? Seems like a gamble that could and did end up with you losing a deer. I never said trespass, but to just "hope" the owner is home is an awful silly way to waste an animals life. But hey, you can still pose for pics and get the rack? That's all that counts... At least according to Bubba.
  16. Seriously? You were going to shoot someone's dog?
  17. Labs killing deer? Must be rabbid that doesn't seem right?
  18. Same here doc. Lot of nocturnal activity
  19. My father inlaw showed up one day when I was shooting. It was the closest to pressure I could simulate. Invite a pretty girl over to watch. That should help you work on your nerves
  20. Today looks like it'll be the first day in the woods this year without seeing a deer. Unless I can count the 5 that crossed the road in front of me this morning
  21. I respect the view of a non hunter and even an anti. I just expect they keep it to themselves as I keep my views to myself. Same views on religion.
  22. I understand you not wanting to trespass, but you sort of contradict yourself when you say it's all about the deer. You took its life and can now use none of it. I think you should have had the tracking situation worked out with your neighbor before the season...
  23. Little rainy and warmer than is like but not as windy as they said initially
