Assembly gun bill
Five Seasons replied to WNYBuckHunter's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
i know it's semantics, but the frequent use of the term clip is starting to drive me nuts. It shows they haven't even read the law which states magazine... btw i had this overview sent to me (attached) might clear some things up for some, certainly leaves many questions still -
this is false. you can now not purchase certain guns, therefore they have taken a gun I have always planned on buying and just never had the extra money to do so from me. They have also taken guns from families. Once you die, your ARs and AKs are no longer yours. Who among us doesn't have an old rifle handed down from their grandfather? Who wouldn't want to hand their AR down to their grandson? If you go through even a mild case of depression or perhaps anxiety they may be taken from you for 5 years. I mostly support that, but there are cases where someone on zollof is no harm to themselves or others, but that's up to a social worker or therapist to decide I guess. They're opinions on gun control obviously do not affect their decision... so now they can't protect their family, hunt deer, duck or turkey unless it's with a bow? I have 2 family members on anti-anxiety drugs. They are by no means wack jobs, they just struggle in public places. The system they proposed does not leave a lot of room to argue your "sanity" to the government and if you could, you need to pay high priced lawyers to do so; all of which violates obamacare and hippa anyhow. So why it's easy to say they haven't taken any right out of your hands, they have.

register it within a year, and then I believe some of those attachments become illegal next year. didn't know it was pre-ban. You are correct, but as of today "pre-ban" no longer matters. i dont believe any ar15 is a family heirloom. your long guns/rifle/shotguns/pistols are all still legal for sale and transfer -
Petition to impeach Gov.Cuomo
Five Seasons replied to PREDATE's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
i'm not doing anything that requires me to make an account. You can sign many petitions without doing that. why is this different? -
for what it's worth, and i'm not advocating anything here but I've had 2 family members have been stopped by dec on the side of the road. They've seen the 3 blade rage heads and the officers have stated they don't really care too much about that reg.

Assembly gun bill

you've been illegal since 94 then. My real concern with some of the mental stuff goes like this. pre-act "hunter and hangun owner goes through bad divorce and bankruptcy. Not doing too well seeks help, gets help and gets back on his/her feet." post act "same scenario, but now they dont seek help for fear of guns being taken away for 5 years without ability to appeal. Gets worse without help and goes nuts" the mental health stuff is a good part of this bill, but it's very broken and may make it all worse... because again, the truly insane wont give a sh!t about the law. they've already been confiscated. You cannot sell them in state and when you die you cannot hand them down and must sell them out of state or turn them in. Guess what will happen someday? you will die. Then if Obama bans interstate sales.... you cannot sell assault rifles period within the state. I dont know how non-assault weapons will work. I believe it will be similar to how handguns are sold today. -

i wonder if it's just a move to say "look what we did" and it wont be enforced. I'm concerned though when i get pulled over for speeding and notify the officer i have a handgun on me... is he going to count the bullets? it's amazing to see the difference in opinion between "the city" and the rest of the state's representative. There are some good arguments being made about the mental health registration violating obamacare too. -

while listening to this it appears this still really sucks, but not as bad as we may have thought. No confiscation, only registration. future sale ban of 10 round mags but current mags can be kept, you do not need to modify, but are only allowed to load 7. -

so if i understand you and doe, you're still debating facts and now doe is upset he's wrong so he's telling daddy? A 4 month season was created largely as the result of overpopulation. Did you read the management plan i posted (second link in post above)? Did you see the stats on deer in your state? What i gather is that I cannot win. I'm not even debating with my personal opinion. I'm reporting facts for discussion and the only response I get is... well when I go into the woods I dont see any deer, so Belo is wrong. PA is over 46k square miles and several of you are bashing your state's laws on personal experience. When a tree falls and blocks the path of a deer run; what do the deer do? They adapt and create a new run. Perhaps these areas you're in have suffered from urban sprawl, over-hunting, poaching, lack of food source from decreased farming, disease etc. The deer may have just moved. I see this every other year when they dont plan the corn near us. If you wanted to claim your WMU is in need of change, then that's fine. I'll buy that. Write the state, attend their public comment meetings and maybe they'll listen.- 320 replies

QDMA has not taken a cent of my money. But I'll humor you, Does this make you feel better? shows an increase in take since 2007 in both antlered and overall deer take. http://www.portal.st...D=625882&mode=2 more interesting reading, although it appears you're not good at that... www.portal.state.pa.us/portal/server.pt/document/850487/2009-2018_pgc_deer_mgmt_plan_-_final_version_pdf but I appreciate you making me go look for that, because it just shows that in the 1970's when everything was great fro reeltime, it wasn't as great as it appeared. Did less people report... sure, but by that much?- 320 replies

Who wants Yearling Buck Protection with ARs in their area?
Five Seasons replied to Meat Hunter's topic in Deer Hunting
it doesn't matter who publishes it. it's data gathered from the state's public website and compiled. It's not even hard to read. It's a chart with kills per year over a 3 year period. Would it be better if I went and took screen shots from the PA website?- 320 replies

What of course doesn't surprise me is that they've included a life sentence without parole for anyone firing at a service employee (fire/ambulance etc). Which nobody disagrees with. But if you vote no, you know your opponent next re-election year will claim you voted against fireman being shot. it's so f'n infuriating! -

reeltime, You are basing your views on your town and farm where you live. I'm basing mine on facts published by your state. http://www.qdma.com/uploads/pdf/WR2012.pdf You can debate the legitimacy of those stats but that's all we have to go by. If people are not reporting than that's an issue your state has, NYS always factors in the percentage of unreported/poached game into their yearly harvest estimates for this very reason. But in fact, despite your opinion and perception in your town, as a state your buck harvest (any size) has increased since 2008. There are no statewide ARs in NYS, yet almost everything is posted, and when I was a kid almost nothing was. So is that because people are trying to keep the deer for themselves? In some cases... yes! But it's not the result of ARs. People take hunting very seriously. If they're fortunate enough to own land that they worked hard to purchase then they are within their right to prevent others who have done nothing to earn it from hunting on it. My best friend growing up lived across the street on a 400 acre fruit farm. We used to hunt it until his father's farm went bankrupt. The land was bought by a hunter who posted the hell out of it. Stopped the snowmobile club from using it and would no longer let my family even cross country ski on the property. He was within his right to do so. Another field was sold by a farmer to a developer and now has 6 houses on it. It’s not just hunters either, a snowmobile club purchased some land as well so they still had a place to ride and don’t allow hunters on the land. We can debate the other facts and issues with ARs all we want but I won’t buy this one as I'm sure most members on this sight can post similar stories in regards to posted property, in fact I see these threads pop up every other week.- 320 replies
