  1. Great excuse for not owning a scale now how bout you post a few pics of that jaw that you used to age your deer.

I actually don’t mind cats I just don’t want to own another one. Around here they control the small animal population and one of them hangs out in my barn. I’m cool with that one.

Cats=lame I usually watch the dog show because I know folks who’s dogs go but not this year. The sire of my two pups has been a few times.
  4. Horse crap. You sound like maybe you don’t or haven’t bow hunted a lot. Maybe lacking experience you wouldn’t take a shot over 20 but that doesn’t make it a bad idea or impossible for the rest of us. As far as being able to shot and track ect, that’s what we are supposed to do.
  5. I love how your deer grow in weight and age as the year passes. “This 2-1/2 year old, busted up 5-point with a 15-1/2" inside spread and 43" chest girth offered me a 30 yard shot at 4:45” what a clown
  6. It’s the best way to raise the sight plain, rifled sights do that as well. If you didn’t raise the sight plain you would have to put your head low on the stock which would be awkward and cause the fit to be off. Combined with cast and drop adjustments the gun will shoot where you look every time. And it helps dissipate heat when there is a lot of shooting.
  7. The one they opened in Schenectady missed the budgeted profits by a large margin. Duh, it’s a crappy area with nothing to offer. Casinos always work as advertised, just look at Atlantic City. Haha
  8. All of those folks live back near town part of the year and live out there during trapping and hunting season. I don’t think I could be that far out. I would need to be able to drive to get supplies and medical care.
  9. Rockland yes, I always mess that up and its been years lol. We rent a cabin or home, used to be through VRBO or Homeaway but now we have a guy that has enough nice places to choose from that we go direct through him. He is a great host and even pointed me to a hell of bird spot. My apologies to the OP for the mini derail and trips not in NY.
  10. More important is that Hall and Oates is coming to MSG!!!!!!
  11. Just saw this, that is the area we go too. We stay in Rockland, love it there and may end up living way out in the woods there some day.
  12. North Woods of Maine is a given, its just a question of when, summer or fall or both. If its summer I am going to do a fishing trip on a guide boat, if its fall Ill be bird hunting.
  13. Damn straight, I have a spot nicknamed the killing tree that is part of a larger tract but I have killed dozens from that one tree. Going on twenty years and the deer still file past it. I actually stopped hunting it out of boredom. lol I forgot to add nice spot!!!
  14. This is a must stop if in the area. http://www.murphysfishandchips.ca/
  15. This park is good and easy to walk around at low tide. Plenty of clams to dig should you want to as well. http://www.novascotia.com/see-do/outdoor-activities/five-islands-provincial-park/1739 The bay of Fundy Park is good too, I remember golf carts transporting us down to the good stuff. Low tide is key there too. I’ll think of more stuff and post it up.
  16. That’s good because Steve and I are getting sick of killing all the deer at your other place. I love new land to trespass on, especially if it’s Burt’s!!
  17. The whole collection is available to watch via Amazon if you are a Prime member. I looked after this thread was posted and found it.
  18. Nate is actually right handed but left eye dominant. I had him start shooting left handed after watching him try to cross his head over a stock to aim with his left eye. It was comical. Lol
  19. It’s a badge of honor being a lefty. Lol I have come across about two left handed things in my life, a bow that I bought on the spot and the 870 that I handed down to Nate last year. Other than that it’s been slim pickins. Auto loaders, pumps and single shots are ok right handed, safety’s can be switched. Bolts, not so much.
  20. I attended a training class in Buffalo years ago and drove by that place on the way in from the airport, I still laugh every time I think of a place named Tally Ho.
  21. I loose (or break) watches like its my job, I am no longer allowed to own one. I have lost and found lots of stuff from wallets to wedding rings. Set a gun down in a field once while training dogs and spent a long time looking for it, that was painful.
  22. Did a little trigger spring work on his axis today. Not bad other than the customary brain fart on shot three. Lol. P.S. I was shooting hand loads and adjusted his scope for shot 4.
  23. Nate has the Axis 7-08 lefty. I got it for cheap from Dick’s with a coupon but did have to order it being a lefty. No adjustable trigger on that axis anymore either, I believe that comes on a different model but can’t recall. We shot it yesterday with the new Boyd’s stock and it made it feel much better with even less recoil than before. I don’t care for the bolt either and be sure to get at least medium height rings as it’s close with the angle of bolt when it’s open. With that said it’s a great cheap gun, it shoots well, is light to carry, fits small framed shooters and has little recoil. Plenty of aftermarket upgrades available should she want too.
