Grilled montreal marinaded pork loin, creamy feta mashed taters, sesame garlic green beans, and a tall glass of whole milk. I've been a farm boy all my life so this is a typical dinner; meat, veggies, taters, glass of milk. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

nobody passes anything for turkeys where i am. people care less about the turkeys versus the deer here. lost a lot of ground that was corn around here that has turned into other stuff that isn't great turkey food. numbers are down so i don't i guess. if i'm hunting with the recurve this spring that might change.

you're not waiting for prom night. lol drink that sh*t and enjoy! beer that good, they'll brew more. dude's saving up for his own brewery. more will come.

there's some areas out here that hold tons of birds. regardless of where they go, you know it will be a place that has plenty around. at the end of the day viewers won't be able to appreciate them killing a turkey where there aren't any, as much as the viewers should.

it's ridiculous how twisted together two very different things that are "trophy management" and "quality deer management" have gotten. i honestly hate discussions like this, for that reason. meanwhile, efforts educating people on QDM or just whats good for deer and hunting gets bastardized because someone is associating it with something else, making assumptions, and drawing false conclusions. then everyone everyone's throws they're hands up and says just shoot what you want and be happy. not exactly a good solution when it comes to sustainability for a thriving deer population. i truely believe there's absolutely nothing wrong with shooting a small, young, or yearling buck. i don't care really what you shoot and what you shoot it with. if it's legal, it's playing fair with others and nothing gets out of hand. i won't trash anyone's yearling or young buck and certainly not a subjectively small antlered buck. matter of fact, if a new or young hunter gets a opportunity to take one i'd encourage it. same goes with a hunter that hasn't taken a buck in a long time. lines are a little blurred though when considering what should happen. hunters should know that there has to be a sufficient buck population to have a sustainable and thriving deer herd with hunting to match. that means that seasoned hunters should be making an honest effort to pass yearling bucks. if they don't, they have no reason to complain about ANYTHING having to do with how poor the deer numbers, rutting activity, or opportunity is in their area. i won't trash the buck they took but if they b**ch to me about the situation, they're getting constructive responses back. despite respectful and excepting of their deer, they still usually don't like the feedback. lines are more blurred when not considering areas within NY sustain vastly different populations from either other. out this way, even in managed habitat, we could take 13 doe per square mile as some areas routinely do and we'd have nothing for deer left. similar situation for bucks. just a couple yearling bucks taken in some areas has much more of an effect on hunter observation and opportunity than it would for other areas. when having these conversations it's important to be able to separate what's basic good practice, what's simply competitive with no ill intent, and what's being a dick with higher standards going above and beyond what's not to be expected of others. i look at hunting as a tradition and necessary act for conservation. i don't look at it as a sport, despite it can be rather sporting and certainly requires skill. If times where truly hard, like apocalyptic movie hard, hunting might be considered as a right. here in NY right now i don't considered it a right and definitely a privilege.

aaron warbitton started as in intern on Midwest Whitetail. Always could kill turkeys like nothing. they started doing more and more online segments hunting public land in the midwest (still stupidly great hunting areas). at first i thought it was a sub show under midwest whitetail but i guess some of them left and are now doing their own thing.

that 10 pointer is a once in a lifetime buck for some people. if you're getting a bigger one in a couple months you'll have quite the display. congrats on the bucks.

the fundamentals of harvesting a deer like shot placement and tracking are exactly the same with a crossbow as they are with a vertical bow. so they're still going to have to learn archery skills. naturally i think they'll want to eventually use what others are using so they won't think a vertical bow is pointless.
-
at 12 yrs old i guarantee you she won't be able to pull back a legal 35 lbs easily enough to be what basic archery lessons preach is not over bowed. even if she could 35 lbs it isn't very effective much past 15 yards or so given what arrow weight would be or drop with a heavier arrow. some boys struggle too despite they can get it back. telling a kid yea you can hunt and then making it really hard for them isn't exactly going to make them want to continue.

age would have to be young youth and old (assumed to have limited physical ability). medical permit would have to be easy to get for anyone of any age. there's was a time a handful of years ago (around 30 years of age) that i couldn't draw any of my bows back on their lowest settings to save my life. a kid decided to run into me with his dad's SUV with a big ol brush guard on the front. it would've been nice at have a crossbow, to get out during the regular early bow season.

burris speed bead (fast fire with a fancy mount) on my Benelli 12ga. on my 20ga it's just the basic bead. not even fiber optic or anything.

see ya there.

Honestly it just changes it a little when slamming it with oxygen from the pour and letting it sit in the glass. Its subjective whether it's better or worse. Same with letting one of those sit a few months in a fridge. Good either way just different in my opinion. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

David the Gnome obviously approves. Facial expression leads to believe he's getting buzzed on suds. Start hammering Mr Powell's Nightmare stouts and i bet the Gnome would hold a conversation with ya.

Sand bagging it tonight with the beer choice. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

Secret is to find a few decent readily available beers from the bigger breweries to work in. It also helps to offset the cost of drinking some of the more expensive beers. It wouldn't be hard to blow through $80-100 in beer a week drinking the better stuff. Seems crazy when comparing cost of your staple beers like Miller, Coors, Budweiser, labat, etc. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

That dealer tactic pisses me off. They keep talking about monthly payment. I just ask what's the % interest and what's the total cost with fees. If I have to ask more than twice I leave. What do i care that you lowered the monthly payment. Doesnt matter if you added more months and are giving a worse deal than before! Lol sorry rob for venting. Probably not helping.
