i just want to see one in the wild. kind of weird how i haven't yet. they're around. things are smart and eluding me i guess.
-
in all seriousness i think it could be done. imagine if it led to a hefty post season steak and brew bill? nothing could top it.
-
only if you pair it with shiny tassels to check the wind.
-
i'll take pictures of mine. i'd have to blow the dust off this year. they've been sitting awhile.
-
should've ponied up for the glitter inlay. take that shine to a new level. blend right in with the early morning dew.

you're not alone. after every hunt i tell myself i'm going to put mineral oil or something on the squeaky barrel safety that's screwed into place once clipped in.

Suggestions for low poundage arrows please!

i've found that D-loop length isn't as important as actually draw length of where the string comes back. adjustable release length can change to offset it while still having your digits responsible for release trigger in a natural relaxed position. -

it's tough to say an particular arrow. i've had get results with multiple brands. when you get your bow setup right i'd have an arrow with at least 7 grains per pound of finished arrow weight per draw weight. then i'd have a heavier front of center at more than 12% (often you'll see to stay within 9-15% and 15% shouldn't be the limit). also cut on contact will help but anything with a smaller cutting diameter less than 1-1/2" and not super steep blade angles will be fine. an arrow slightly on the stiff side will transfer more energy into the animal (penetration) by not bending on impact than slightly too weak one, even if you can get both to fly well enough. -
only place where i can shutoff my mind and not think about anything. just take in everything else that's outside my immediate bubble. not to mention a ten minute nap in the woods has you supercharged and refreshed versus the hours i sleep in my attactual bed.

taking a break for a little. little extra cash for getting a different home and going on all inclusive beach and beverage vacation in week.

i pray for the best of health for you Eddie and for your dad john. never guaranteed tomorrow but you can guarantee yourself to make the best of it when it comes.
-
nice. best of luck this season.
-
big enough.

even young buck necks can look very stout when they're looking backwards or head down. an old buck will have tarsal staining even in september and then running right down the hocks during rut.
-
looks like all various 2.5 yr olds to me. exception being the buck in the back in the 3rd picture Tacks posted. that buck is most likely 3.5 yrs old. i think the last buck Tacks posted is still a 2.5 yr old. it's a tough angle and can't see leg proportions, or head/ears proportion. Separately, the one Rob posted is a trophy that happens to have small antlers. that buck is 5.5 yrs old all day. give a natural age structure you should see more bucks in younger ages classes. makes sense. another thing to be careful of is times of the season. aging in velvet isn't really a great idea at all. then aging a buck in September will be very different than when it's fully jacked up come early November.

my HSS Pro vest harness is now my go to for hanging stands. doesn't stink up my hunting harness, has room with some pockets, and with a lineman's belt it's hands free for setting the sticks and stand.
-
i shoot a Rage mechanical cut is bigger and i'm not shooting an arrow with a ton of KE. so i pass that type of shot too.
-
i use a Muddy Safeguard harness. also have a HSS vest style harness but it's pretty heavy.
-
awesome
-
honestly i use it less and less. i feel like i do more damage by spreading my scent everywhere to place it around my stand. i'd do just as well without it or using the old time method of using tarsal glands from deer already taken in an area.
-
use of dogs, bait, in or outside a fence, and other subjective stuff... personal choice. there's other things i'm sure we could come up with that isn't necessarily breaking the law but just about everyone would frown on. that's all.
-
under the context of assuming you're doing so ethically and legally... it's that simple.

last time i planted PPT they never touched it until December came and i was tagged out. then it was straight up gluttonous sin. i had 30 deer in an acre until it was all gone.
-
congrats and hope it all works out!

we listed my place. close to 10 acres with house and 2.5 car garage. started looking for homes. accepted an offer after we had a bidding war in 2 days. now the hunt for a new place is on pretty hard to fall in line with the closing date of Oct 31ish.
