already replied to this but ..... i agree with above. constriction and ported or not depends on what ammo you're shooting too. I will say Carlson's, Puregold, and IndianCreek make decent ones that are still affordable. Then you've got other chokes like Rhino that are a little more costly. Indiancreek's porting is an awesome design. Puregold chokes have a wicked long tube/parallel section for even lethal patterns. then carlson's have a variety to tailor to different loads.

PureGold makes a good choke too. they make one called the tempest turkey which is specifically designed for the Federal shells.

i've shot a Benelli Supernova 12ga with a 26" barrel, Carlson's non-ported dead coyote choke, and 3" 1-5/8oz #5 Federal Heavyweight. There's about 206 pellets in there and I was getting 100+ in an 8" circle at 40 yards. That's like 50% which is pretty good. That said I think HW #6 still has enough penetration and would give you more pellet count. Even HW #7 would work to 40 yards probably. i think the choke is around .690" opposed to your .660's for many other turkey chokes.

not seeing the numbers some of you are but they're there. this past week i've seen them break up into smaller groups though. toms are in full strut and things are under way.

haven't trying that many but i've picked up a Down-N-Dirty Outdoors Boogeyman Barred Owl call. works pretty good with a little practice. it also doesn't take up as much space as many of the others.

i agree 1.5 or 2.5. no more than that.

Realtree AP, APG, Xtra, and Xtra Green work well. i've got lightweight stuff from Medalist, Cabelas, and Team Realtree gear. i wear black under amour compression heat gear top. helps circulation and keeps me cool. other stuff is mesh. sometimes i bring a light jacket or hoodie if the early morning is too chilly before it kicks up to 70+.

Remington got a contract they haven't left, NYers still have jobs. STOP bashing the **** out of them, which you want to stay. This is the US military not NY Everyone is watching NY. Let's get our laws straightened out first, get Remington back to producing modern sporting rifles, and the rest of the country will follow suit.

Add Franklin, Otsego, and Ontario counties to the list of patriotic Americans trying to keep this state a great one and our home. Dutchess, Chemung, Schuyler, Seneca, and Monroe are up to vote on resolutions to oppose the new gun control "SAFE" Act this coming week. Show support and make sure your legislators are on the same page. Full repeal is best option to get enough of it fixed and truely make us safer.

i'm not sitting back. although people as a whole haven't voted for each resolution, i do think the results you're talking about are BS. i read the article for it and poll. there are issues with both. local clubs i'm in sell more tickets for limited single raffles than their poll size was even if you increased it by 100. another thought it was 100's of people less than 1/10th the size the turn out at the Feb 28th gun rally. that said it's going to be a long battle still and complacency would be the sole reason for not winning.

North Korea Vows To Nuke The US!
dbHunterNY replied to Cabin Fever's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
good thing is the rest of the world is not on your side if you make a nuke threat. making a nuke threat is like shooting yourself in each foot. if anything was to go down there's not much to stop it either. it's out of the average joe's hands and never in them to begin with. -
NY SAFE Resolutions | Documenting County and Town resolutions on the NY SAFE act The growing list of counties officially opposing the NYS SAFE act 50+ counties taking action! - AR15.Com Mobile above are a couple links for information regarding various counties that have voted on and passed resolutions opposing the (gun control) NY SAFE Act that turned to law back in January. still some NY counties that haven't pass a resolution. if you live close to or know of anyone that does live near one of these counties, then support a resolution to pass in any legitimate way you can. then when the whole map is covered in green except NYC, then spread all around! If you know of other related links for resolution status or related updates post it in here. If someone else started a better thread then let me know and I'll post stuff in there. Thanks for the support!

Stihl Chain Saw
dbHunterNY replied to fasteddie's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
i looked at the new ones back a couple years ago. i ended up getting a husqvarna 346XP. i was looking at saws that are different than that 180 but it was always stihl or husky. as long as you get the right sized saw to fit your needs you'll have no worries with either brand. -
i pay $4500 for just shy of 10 acres and 1000 sq ft. i'm going to eventually look into how much taxes would go up if i added on.

So who has seen...
dbHunterNY replied to growalot's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
i hope they do recruit some... then after those individuals are sworn in it'll be their duty to attend the rally and support the constitution. -
i really wish we knew the specific changes. it may seem complicated now but really isn't and allows a hunter to pick and choose what tags they want. this makes it cheaper than buying a set of tags with multiple tags lumped together. i buy a super sportsman so that doesn't apply to me, but not the case with other hunters i know. i'm not opposed to this but no one should forget where Cuomo's interests are. It's funny how DEC has proposed changes for a while now and now suddenly Cuomo's all for it. I don't think highly of him and believe he's mainly doing it for votes and polls. More and more localities are going on record opposing his previous bills he somehow got passed. I'll credit any good this proposal does to DEC and some others. He's simply the guy signing it to try and save his butt.

Rally For Your Rights 2/28/2013
dbHunterNY replied to Lawdwaz's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
our club was posted up just to the right of the water fountain (if you're facing the capitol building or looking away from the speakers). i was handing out green flyers telling how we're going to stuff their mailboxes with postcards/letters. need to mail them out now. at one point toward the end i was holding one half of a big red NRA banner in the same spot too. never enough people but it was good to see such a turn out. -
Feb 28th - Rally in Albany

that's a great idea! don't think he'll just change either. if he's against guns he'll only change his position to get elected.- 32 replies

Feb 28th - Rally in Albany
dbHunterNY replied to dbHunterNY's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
i gave her a flyer for an organized effort of sending officials like Cuomo mail stating our concern. i think i posted something in here about it but if not i'll post the info. it'd basically jammed up their mailboxes and get a point across. she also hung around our club for a while. i was in the background for some of it holding part of a big NRA banner. i think she interviewed our club president too.- 32 replies

Feb 28th - Rally in Albany
dbHunterNY replied to dbHunterNY's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
hard to say what will get used up first. Closest parking is available under the Empire State Plaza. Cost is $2/hour and paid with a credit card. To get to the plaza take interstate 787 to the South Mall Arterial exit. on south mall arterial road, it'll look like you're driving into a tunnel under the plaza and parking entrances are right there off to your right and left. After parking take the elevator to the concourse level. The Legislative Office Building is accessible from there.- 32 replies
