6:12 PM. Hit the bookmark for the HUNTING NY forum. Landing page with "Recent Topics" has 8 threads. 6 of them from the Political section with 2 posters having all the last posts - and probably 75% of the total posts in the threads. This used to be a place for hunting and outdoor activities in NY. Not sure what it is now.

It proofs that a deer survived a high lung hit - nothing else. There is no empty space anywhere in the thoracic cavity where a broadhead can pass between the lungs and the spine. The lungs can only work by being in contact at all times with the cavity walls. It is the expansion/contraction of the ribcage that inflates/deflates the lungs with air.

That is a 5 year old post you are responding to.

Neck of a deer is a huge target. Can you be a little more specific as to where you would want to hit.

If there was nothing but a few spikes before, what was breeding those 100's of does in the fields?

This company's website has a great tool for choosing the colors of your next string. Question for you software techies: How would you go about building /obtaining an app like that? http://haymondarchery.com/custom-bowstrings.html

Senate Passes Bill to Allow Moose Hunting in NY
SteveB replied to mike rossi's topic in General Hunting
Try again. Why would the insurance industry care about moose in NYS? Contrary to popular folklore, they have no real concern with the deer population. Other than monitoring rates to still be hugely profitable. -

Why would the insurance possibly care? -
Old Norvic - Oswego State 1969. 69 cents a six pack.

Rather have him working on that cure for cancer than killing deer for you.

Pot - meet kettle.

But this one could account for 10's if not dozens of extra deer.

border patrol checkpoints
SteveB replied to ncountry's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
There are 100's of miles of border where one can simply walk or boat across. Does anyone think that maybe the majority of smugglers maybe don't risk crossing at the border stations? It only makes sense that we would use methods making it riskier to walk/boat across at a distance where they have picked up vehicles to continue on. That is why the courts have deemed the BP checkpoints reasonable and legal. Stop them and you may as well just do away with the border stations as well. -
I'm ignorant too. Didn't know there were "sportsman" who actually wanted to limit property owners from driving on their own land and running chainsaws.

Situation in Baltimore
SteveB replied to ELMER J. FUDD's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
http://chamspage.blogspot.com/2014/12/2015-baltimore-city-homicidesmurders.html 12 non police murders in Baltimore since Freddie Grey - all open and I bet most are black victims. Where's the outrage from the community here? Don't these "Black Lives Matter"? 74 total murders this year - 9 closed. 25 listed victims as having no violent record. No protests or marches for any but 1 - the police involved one. -

Highly educated for what? A field where there are opportunities? Or one that seemed liked fun. -
You mean you want the taxpayers to pay for that too.

I'm glad he got you your deer that prevented starvation in your family - rather than curing cancer and ending heart disease.

Phades post above is one way.

So do you think NYS will expand the crossbow season
SteveB replied to MACHINIST's topic in CrossBow Hunting
Why do you use a compound and not a recurve? -

Yep - killed Ohio. Nobody bowhunts there anymore. -
And few pot smokers go for 2 packs a day.

With similar string materials, it should be real close. I like to hit the target length with 1 twist per 1 1/2 to 2". Still room to twist brace hgt up 1/2" if needed at least.

I've seen several sets of WK's - great work and excellent value.
