At what age is a deer no longer "young" and ok to shoot? Specific answer please.
-
If it ran 150 to 200 yds, it may not have been hit that good - maybe not even a fatal shot Sounds possible he may have put it down. Agree he could have shown you, but there could be more to the story.
-
How far did the deer go total?
-
What type of photo one wants is a personal thing - like deciding which deer to shoot. I don't see respect in the equation at all. I highly doubt a great picture makes the deer feel better with having just had an arrow or bullet blow thru its vitals and get field dressed.

A 240 gr bullet pushed by 100 gr of any black powder has enough energy to kill 2 deer at 150 yds - if you hit them right. You either did not hit where you think you did or failed in tracking - neither is the fault or any indication of the mz being at fault.

Genius no - but still far beyond the ability of many.

Poacher and proud of it. Nice! Sounds like we need to be sure our cars, homes, treestands, and everything else are well locked when you are around as well.

The only reason one chooses a compound over a recurve to hunt with is because it is easier to become and maintain hunting proficiency. Which is fine until they seek to have their choice of easier archery equipment be the only one allowed.

Someone sprays rose potpourri after doing their business in the bathroom and I smell roses and crap. And I hear a deers nose may be a little better than mine.

For what it is worth my local shop in southern Cayuga Cty has sold probably 150 in the last 2 years. Less than 10 have been to hunters not having their bow license. Several where older hunters with physical issues who had pretty much given up their compounds because they were no longer able to shot them enough to be comfortable with their proficiency. Granted this is a 20 year old archery shop with a bowhunting focus. Customers going to a chain don't shop at a place like this much and the numbers there could easily be flip flopped. Wouldn't be surprised if it varied across the state as well. Just my little window.

If the deer smell them - they smell you. Can't hide one scent with another from a deer.
-
So you admit - no skills of your own. Just poke and hope.
-
Do you even bother to attempt development of your skills or going to just continue blind luck poking and hoping with jesus arrows? Every hunt story you tell - if they are even real - paints hunters in an extreme negative light. 3 shots and hope to find it. Hail mary at range never tried with crossbow. Honestly think you are an anti.

And yet he missed the kids with cancer - while getting you a deer.

Comparing apples to apples it isn't any more effective - certainly not by 10. Compare the IBO scores where compound's shoot the same course as xbows. Wolc thinks his limitations and lack of skills are everyone's.

You do realize it is illegal to feed. Not a good idea to post admissions of illegal activity.
-
I would think they should only be concerned with the legal aspects. Ethics only considered as they apply to the law.

Nice buck - but bucks don't reach maturity until at least 4.5 years.

So who's headin out with their XBOW in the morning..
SteveB replied to sits in trees's topic in CrossBow Hunting
Last 2 weeks - same as last year. Up till the Oct 1st date - bow opener was a different date every year. SZ gun still is. -
Not going to fight Walmart or Basspro today. Try the local town office tomorrow. But with 16 sits and not a doe seen in 7J, I'm not too worried about running out.

And half are wrong. Which half is right?
