I understand now,really I have never tried to pick one out except one.She was a doe with one leg that was hit by a car and the whole crew of guys that hunted that area wanted to get her.We had watched her during bow and she had a real tough time getting around but we couldn't get close with our bows even when stalking her.She ended up getting shot after a week of deer though by a neighbor.I really just take a deer that excites me,it could be a small buck,doe or the next wallhanger.I have had a few deer that just because of the day or how I felt and thats all.

After thinking about it I really don't know.I love the meat,getting up early and trying to outwit a big buck,sharing a hunt with family and friends(both meat and the story,the thrill of the hunt and I also do love the kill itself.

My nephew is 14 and loves any and all hunting,he has helped me set cams a few times and is saving mowing money for the summer to get his first

Well seeing as how I didn't slam you right off the bat like "hey dillweed go read all the rules you obviously break every time your in the woods" maybe you should sit back,take a minute and lay off.I simply stated that for yourself and anyone else that may think its ok to start baiting bear.I run into quite a few people every year that think some things are legal because they do them in other states.Got to love the keyboard commandoes

That happened to me this year on opening day with a big tom.I got close to his roost and he had hens with him.As soon as they flew down he started to make his way to the hen closest to me(20 yards) and when he got to 45-50 yards as I was getting ready to shoot he spun as another hen came out of the tree behind him.Then he started walking away toward the other tom and I just keep burning a hole in him with the red dot not paying attention that he was actually walking away and making the distance longer.I shot and didnt realize he was 65-70 yards when he turned.Thats the only problem I have had with the red dot

I put a Mueller red dot on mine this year,I have to admit I was always scared about it not working when I needed it and having a turkey come in silent because you have to turn it on.Past that the bulk didn't bother me.I am still not to sure if it will be there next season.I also have a simmons scope I may throw on during the off season to see if I like that.

I tried them when they first came out and didnt like the way they whistled at the shot.I do know a few guys that shoot them and they are a killer!!

Nothing here.sake as last weekend.I here some hens but not one gobble.I think I am done for the year with all the stuff I have on my honey do list growing.Maybe once or twice more but that's it.I like the reward of the bird but the gobbling and seeing them strut in gets me more excited than anything

Spending time with family and loved ones.Doing some turkey hunting and also some housework.Other than that just being thankful for what I have and thankful for the people that have sacrificed for people like myself.Thank a vet if you see one!!!!

While I like that they are doing something about the population I think the 15 day doe only is stupid.If you want doe killed make it a earn a buck.Fair for everyone and it allows a hunter to go after his buck he has been after all year as soon as he tags a doe.

Ive never had a ton of luck with the owl hooter till they could see the ground but yes I have done it.I think it works best this time of year because the leaves are on the tree and it makes it easier to sneak in closer than it was just 2 weeks ago.Only a week and a half left go for it!!

Knock on doors instead of writing a letter.The "in person" contact is always better.I have a 25% success rate from what I have asked permision on.Once you get permission ask about any help you can do.I have fixed farm equiptment,cut dead trees and branches from field edges,posted property for the landowners and I am getting ready to make a cab for a guys skidsteer I just got permission to be on.Its frustrating but so so worth it when you hit a good property
