Um, There are currently no open deer seasons in New York State. Late Bow/MZ season ended Tuesday 12/17. Please don't tell me you're admitting to poaching after the season ended.

In Cayuga County, you have the Summerhill, Frozen Ocean, and Bear Swamp State Forests that are open for hunting. -
I haven't unloaded mine. I'll probably wait another week or so. I'm not crazy about taking it out in the rain if I don't have to, and I really don't have time to clean it today anyway.

Well my season is on pause until the DMFA season in January. With the snow we're getting tonight, I have 30 driveways to plow tomorrow, most of them will need to be hit twice. As far as meat in the freezer goes, it's been my worst season ever. Only one doe. Definitely need to rethink my strategies for next year. The snow just started here in 7J. I had two does about 100 yards in front of my blind at 630 eating away, but they moved on before sunrise. The snow started shortly after legal shooting time.

The .308 Winchester (pronounced: "three-oh-eight") is a rimless, bottlenecked, rifle cartridge and is the commercial cartridge from which the 7.62×51mm NATO round was derived. OTOH, .308 WIn ammo isn't that hard to come by, just go pick some up. My BIL just got some at Bass Pro in Auburn and said there's plenty of it there.
