  1. I collect belly button lint....I'm planning to stuff a mattress.... Oh yeah, I also do a lot of fishing....
  2. Probably quicker than you think....But don't agonize over it...Throw them in, walk away and come back a half hour later...No problem...
  3. Got a place to drown them ?? That's the least messy option...Drop them in the creek or the pond trap and all.... Shooting a trapped animal with a .22 mag sounds like you may have issues with overpenetration.. A .22 rimfire with CB shorts between the eyes would be a better option..
  4. Welcome aboard, Neighbor !
  5. Seed it and drag over it with something , like a length of chain link fence...Or, at least drive over it with an atv or tractor... I put wheat in two weeks ago and it is going GANGBUSTERS !!...
  6. I'll reserve us a "special" room at Mabel's House of Pleasure...
  7. I'm guessing 600-700 lb....Maybe we can get wolc 123 to put the tape on him and let us know or for sure..
  8. I can name several bus drivers in my school district who carried their shotguns in the buses and shot deer with them during deer season back in the 50s and 60s...of course, they are all dead now...Hehehe...
  9. Within 4 days of planting, my wheat plot was germinating.... I checked it two days ago....Lush, green and solid....Looks great...Guess planting when damp was not a problem !!
  10. You do not need a stamp to hunt woodcock, but do you need a HIP # and need to have your gun plugged to 3 shots...
  11. Nope...I could defend myself with one at very close range, but squirrels are far beyond my skill level...I do OK on coons and porcupines sitting in trees as long as the trees aren't too high......
  12. What 7600 said... It's a pump for sure...
  13. Spring....Hunting gobblers with my 40 year old Rem 1100 3 inch mag 12... September...Hunting squirrels with my 1937 Winchester m12 16 gauge... October..Hunting waterfowl with my 12 gauge Browning Citori.. Nov-Dec...Hunting deer with my Rem m700 Mountain Rifle 7mm08... Jan-Feb... Hunting bunny rabbits ahead of a pack of beagles with my 20 gauge Ithaca SKB side by side.... In days gone by, my favorite thing in Sept was hunting moose, caribou, elk or mule deer in wild and wonderful places on this continent, but my budget no longer can afford those hunts, and my body couldn't handle many of those hunts anymore...Do it yourself wilderness hunts are a young man's game..
  14. Ba- da -bing- ba- da BOOM !!
  15. Not to hijack Larry's thread, but I have a funny story, told to me by a landowner whose property I hunted on up in Ontario.. This guy raises minature dacshunds.. He had an invisible fence, and one of his dogs was in the yard when a coyote came charging in, grabbed the weiner dog like a sausage and ran like hell...The dog had it's collar on and when the coyote hit the fence, both the dog and the yote got zapped ! The coyote dropped the weiner dog and ran like hell for the woods, and the dog, slightly injured but still mostly intact, ran like hell for the house ! True story....Hehehe...
  16. Looks like Aunt Matilda's missing her Jack Russel terrier....Those things are like jelly donuts to coyotes, along with various other ankle biters..
  17. Never take a knife to a gunfight.....<<Wink>>…..
  18. Bigger than a bread box......Hehehe....There I go dating myself again... I'm no bear expert, but I've seen a few....Looks like Boo-Boo rather than Yogi.... I'd say no more than 125 dressed... Probably less...
  19. Madigan's Deer Processing on County Rt , 119 about 2 miles west of Addison.....It is about 20 minutes from Corning. PM me if you want the phone number...
  20. Corn looks great, Zeb !! Do you always wear a sweater in hot weather ?.....
  21. You mean they don't teach Home Ec in school anymore ?? No wonder these young women don't know how to cook or sew !!
  22. he weirdest one I ever saw was while bowhunting elk in New mexico..My buddy called in and killed a bull... When he was caping it, he discovered an arrow had gone right up one of the bull's nostrils and was broken off just inside the nostril...The broadhead was imbedded in one of the bull's sinus cavities....The elk appeared perfectly healthy until my buddy put an arrow through his lungs...
  23. Thanks for sharing TF....I have found healed over shot in a number of birds that I have shot over the last 50 years...
  24. Cool pictures, Jeff...I love old photos..Isn't that a Savage 99 that your grandpappy is cradling in the cat picture ?...
