BAITING IS ILLEGAL IN NEW YORK STATE that's why.

By me and not sure about other areas, If it is not maintained it goes wild as with ferns, sticker bushes and young tree growth, now this is in wooded areas not in or on farm type land.

X2, There is a thick area on my property that a group of deer bed in most of the day ,the get up a few times and brose on the natural vegitation around them.In the late afternoon the walk out into the clearings that I made by cutting down trees for firewood and planted grasses in thoes spots, then they move on to my neighbors property and keep going from one to another. ( and as I am typing this ) Mom and her 2 young ones just walked threw the back yard headed to the bedding area. I have seen the same deer a mile an a half down the road eating on other peoples front lawns and drinking water from there ponds. Does this mean the whole neighborhood is baiting the deer because they improved there property by clearing land and planting grasses in the cleared areas. And what about the people that spend $ XXX a month on corn and other grains and put them out on there property just so they can see some deer and turkeys all year long ( not legal in New York ) but they still do it every day.

Assuming that the ladder part is not safe , I would also be leary about the stand section. Another $$$ is not worth maiming yourself for the rest of your life.

You want to point the cam. North or West, Cut anything that moves in front of it as tall grass, Young trees and brush, thef will all trigger the cam. when the wind blows.

A tax map will give you a good Idea where your boundaries are. They have some sort of markers on them as stone walls, barb wire fences and if the property was ever survayed there should be markers ,usually a rebar stake or pile of stones that is indicated on the map.It will take some time but you can find the boundaries. As for the neighbor thing and trasspassing, Most of mine are Weekenders, few full time homeowners and the ones that live here full time have the same BS, out of state and weekend traspassers that think that the can hunt where ever they want because the might own a 100 foot x 100 foot piece of property with a trailer on it and pay Min. amount of taxes.

How the heck did this wind up 4 pages long, You have a Tax map of you property or go to the town hall and ask for a copy of the property you are going to hunt it if you are not the owner. To see where the boundaries are , A compass will work, even if it is your property. Buy a roll of posted signs and put one where you could see the last one.Right what ever you want on them,You are going to hear the same BS tat most of us do, Oh my grand father and father hunted here.I tell them ok give me a receipt that you paid the taxes for me on my property and ask the to kindly GTFO my property.

The temp. dropped 10 degrees from what is was all day and it was not that warm today, deer just came out of the heavy stuff to feed,7:00 PM. And they are eating at 6:00 Am in the morning then bedding down for the day. Looks like a sunrise / sunset deal so far.
